I can recall being told in university that the waking mind fills the gaps in our dreams so we believe we heard things, read things, etc. The mind needs a more coherent narrative and constructs one accordingly.
I'm glad you checked Evil out. Interesting that you landed on the Pilot. I loved this show (a few quibbles, but overall 3/3 dragons). The characters are complex and flawed, and it features one of the more interesting antagonists I have seen in a while. I let P+ lapse, but if you follow though watching, let me know what you think. I reached out to the creator and he confirmed CS Lewis and his fellow Inkling, Charles Williams, were influences (Screwtape Letters, and Leeland Townsend is very much a Williams-esque antagonist).
I believe it is only the second time we've landed on the first episode, with the other being Preacher.
Michael Emerson was in Lost and Person of Interest.
