Rock a Doodle was one of the first movies I remember leaving the theater actively disliking. (The first was Congo)

This show debuted smack dab in the middle of my childhood cancer debacle, so it's kind of included in the haze of memories and feelings of that time. It was unlike anything else on TBS and 12 year old me watched as much as I could.

Loved this show growing up! The SWAT Kats were indeed vigilantes, former pilots working for Commander Feral, however they were thrown out and made to work in a scrap yard after a disastrous and wreckless disobeying of his direct orders in pursuing Dark Kat. While in the scrap yard, they somehow find enough technology to not only build a fighter jet and other equipment, but stuff superior to everything that the force is using. It was an absolutely ridiculous premise that rarely ever actually got dealt with, aside from Commander Feral calling them vigilantes, because they were. Of course, you're made to see him as the jerk (and he is), but his original kicking them out of the force was justified.

It's a very catchy tune. Almost sounds like the Star Fox 64 soundfont.

I'm glad you checked Evil out. Interesting that you landed on the Pilot. I loved this show (a few quibbles, but overall 3/3 dragons). The characters are complex and flawed, and it features one of the more interesting antagonists I have seen in a while. I let P+ lapse, but if you follow though watching, let me know what you think. I reached out to the creator and he confirmed CS Lewis and his fellow Inkling, Charles Williams, were influences (Screwtape Letters, and Leeland Townsend is very much a Williams-esque antagonist).

Honestly surprised you guys liked this one. Its so strongly panned by fans I had assumed it was a universal opinion. Honestly tho, Id never seen it. When it came out, I was no longer interested in TMNT or Power Rangers and TMNT 3 actually disappointed me in the theater. I do exceptionally recommend the IDW comics. Thats the best iteration of the Turtles and their cast ever!

I loved SEGA Channel. Was the only way to play Pulseman in the USA without importing from Japan or the UK, until emulation later. As for The Next Mutation, I forget what it aired opposite, but I remember that I trailed off as a child because the other show on was more interesting to me at the time. The 2003 animated series, on the other hand, absolutely kept me from watching anything else when it was on. The Next Mutation looked decent for practical effects at the budget it had, just that it didn't seem as interesting from a writing standpoint, and how the charaters were so different from how they were in the cartoon, movie, and comics. If it hadn't been for prior experience in the franchise, and whatever that other show was, I probably would have thought it was perfectly fine as itself. It just felt odd to me. Not terrible, just odd. Venus De Milo I was fine with despite the odditiies, but unfortunately the reception of the series and Peter Laird hating Venus, she couldn't come back until modern IDW, and completely different despite the same name. At least Kevin Eastman was okay enough with it to approve the new version of her for IDW, and the reception of Jennika really helped the fans accept a female turtle beforehand.

Ok this is a very atypical episode. Usually the show has Mordecai and Rigby encounter some simple, mundane problem that will balloon into some supernatural catastrophe that is resolved using video-game logic. This ones also showcasing alot of character growth, as noted. Rigby is usually the screwup who finally decided to put his life straight so he could feel worthy of his girlfriend. Benson (gumball man) is their manager at the park and is always on the verge of firing them for being lazy or whatever. Over time he has become better friends with them and mellowed the hell out. Gonna be honest, the In Space arc felt like a huge jump-the-shark moment and I ended up enjoying the show far less from this point on.

So they made fun of both Dragon Ball and Pokemon in the same episode, thats actually pretty impressive.

You know had Bob regained consciousness early enough to witness Kilobytes transformation into Gigabyte, the season 2 episode that Megabyte and Hexadecimal remerged into Gigabyte would have been alot darker, because Bob would have instantly recognized Gigabyte as the one who killed his partner Dixon and made the conflict between him and Gigabyte much more personal.

Two scenes this track clearly brings to my mind: 1. The Tearing. Bob and Megs on a platform while endless viral binomes below march towards a tear… 2. The Medusa Bug: ABCs preparing to, and failing to defeat Hexadecimal
