      Thanks for the idea! I just added eksctl to my TODO list. Can't say when it's coming though.

    Thanks a good explanation about AWS Copilot, so, when you should use ECS with copilot over EKS?

      I believe that EKS is a better option in most cases. Kubernetes is the dominant platform. Almost everyone stands behind it while ECS is AWS-only attempt that, I believe, does not have a bright future. So, even if there are use cases when ECS is a better choice, I believe it is a bad investment on the long run. Kubernetes is the future.

      @@DevOpsToolkit Thanks for your response :)

      ECS makes sense when you want to run apps as containers without learning how Kubernetes works. It is a simpler solution to start with. That will likely change since AWS will likely create layers on top of EKS like, for example, what Google did with Cloud Run.

    Can you run daemon service in copilot and aws ecs?

      I think you can. I haven't tried it though so I'm not 100% sure.

    Can we associate existing VPC using this copoilet, will that be possible?

    • @DevOpsToolkit
      @DevOpsToolkit  3 года назад +2

      Yes you can. When you create an env (`copilot env init`), you can specify that you want to use existing VPCs.
