- Cities governments around the world are talking about transforming metropolises into smart cities, but what does that mean? From automation to overhauling infrastructure, we take a look at the smart city of the future.

THE MUSTACHE THO
SheepyGames I was about to say that.
I have an idea, stackable apartments so the construction cost would be less, these apartmens have facilities such as a school and supermarket. These apartment have a set capacity of how much apartment blocks are allowed to be built and the capacity can be different depending on each building. The apartment blocks would be customizable ranging from single blocks to family.
I like those solar panel roads
One idea of mine about a smart city could never become a reality unless the city was but from the ground up. Bike paths and walk ways would be completely separated from traffic to provide more tranquility and safety. This has already been done (minus the bike paths) in a city called Masdar located in the UAE. Although this city has taken this idea to an extreme, I feel that cities now cater too much to the automobile.
hows that hendo hoverboard coming along?! :D
Solar roads with dynamic lane markers made of LEDs, heaters under them keep snow and ice from building up and since they are solar they generate the power for the heater, LEDs and a surplus for the grid. I almost think there is some place where these are already a thing BTW.
They are also modular so repairs and replacements take minutes not months.
Good thing im an IT student. Imagine the future cities being automated. A lot of work will be done by Developers and Engineers.
please do more *high tech Cities* 😊😊
I bet smart buttons can help us know when we've missed one.
And when it's hacked?
you keep doing episodes on the benefits of smart cities, internet of things and big data, can you or have you done an episode on the risks, like all that data being used to influence voters or using it for criminal profiling and whatnot? what are the potential ways they can be abused and how can we proceed while still being protected?
*Good Job*
this video looks lke it took a massive amout of work
I wanna move to the city, open an Asian restaurant called City Wok and mispronounce the name of the restaurant.
i thought led lights made it harder to see the road
cool beans
Eyy, I'm early for once, Not sure what I'd like to see in a city of tomorrow... :/
I know that it's far easier to name things you would want to not see.
Agenda 21
Jeremy Bosworth Yup, but it has been officially redubbed (UN Agenda 2030).
Watch_Dogs 2 all over again.
Nice beard.
David K No, no it's not.
then you can hack the whole city!
old intro was better
wait... does this mean i live in a dumb city now
Agenda 21
I just want to see all these heat sink parking lots turned into solar energy farms. Even without photovoltaics, I think they could generate enough heat to run turbines.
A smart city could have a completely driverless road network. With passive sensors built into the road or along side roads it would improve the driving accuracy of the vehicles. This would make it where you can have buses and taxi-like smaller vehicles sharing a paid pass system and no personally owned vehicles would be needed. Just wait for a bus, or pay a small fee for a faster private ride.
Daniel Bentley Yep a life of nothing owned. Stuck in a system and u haveing no freedom of anything
No freedom? That's what the smaller on demand cars are for. And use trains or planes between cities or a rental vehicles to go out in the wilderness.
Jeremy Bosworth No freedom? This would actually help traffic and make most people use public transport. It's working in Singapore
Wtf I was subbed here when it was at 5k where the hell did that 200k come from
Good job tho
Checkout The Venus Project
really good efficient transportation that is cheap and affordable and maybe some lighting's in the dark alley so you can actually see is in the alley before you walked down there so you don't get mugged oh and cops that actually do that work instead of sticking up for a specific people
erli and furst
Why your mustache look like it's trying to run away
That facial hair doe
