    "Listed reticle subtentions used for estimating range, holdover, and windage" on 2nd FP on the HS-T 6-24 50x hold accuracy only to 18x power and not through full zoom @ 24x as was stated by Gavin.

    Older scopes can usually be retrofitted with zero stops by finding or making a washer stack that fits under the turret cap. I’ve got several affordable Nikon and Vortex scopes that now have zero stop 👍🏻

    Actually, with 2nd focal plane scopes, the mil values are not necessarily accurate at max power. In fact, that would be easy if that were the case, but it all depends on the scope.

      Alex Gavieres so I am a new shooter and I don't have any idea how to get the DOPE on my scope or what clicks and mils and all that stuff . Is there a vid or some way to learn all this without spending and ton of money or endless hours on the range? Thanks

      Alpha6five The best channels on RUclips are from this guy regarding reloading, but for more info about shooting precision: 65Guys, snipershide, 8542Tactical, and tibesaurus rex.
      Then watch anything regarding ballistic calculators.

    Has there been much use in PRS of Tip Top bypods from Colorado . I have used them, high quality like Harris, there are models that have pan and tilt built in and lock nicely. I have both a model that connects to the standard sling stud, and another for my AR's that have a solid rail mount without needing an adapter that can come loose.

    Another great video, besides the equipment what can really make a difference in PRS is practicing under the same conditions. The clock, for example, killed me in my first event. I found out that I could hit most of the targets at all positions but not in 90 seconds.

      Sooooo true! Good points. The clock is a reality check for sure!

    I find that the scope is very important. I try not to use the turrets and hold with the Christmas tree as it is faster.

  • @pstewart5443
    @pstewart5443 4 года назад

    I love the basic format that the experienced mentor goes with. I can't stand the busy Christmas tree reticles either. I keep my reticles as simple as possible.

    Question, I'm running a weatherby vanguard and It is running about .6-.65 moa 5hot group with m80 7.62×51 NATO rounds. Is that still a viable option for a PRS match or do I need to try match-grade ammo?

    • @Bubbybub0077
      @Bubbybub0077 3 года назад +1

      That should be fine. If youre under .75 MOA you'll be alright. Positioning, DOPE, and your follow through is going to be more important than outright mechanical accuracy.

    So is handloading like a requirement? I know it's not a legit requirement, but will it put you at a severe disadvantage if you don't use personal handloads?

    • @DefZen343
      @DefZen343 2 года назад

      aslong as your gun is capable of 1 inch groups at 100 yards, you will be competitive. many factory 6.5 creedmore rifles will do this with factory loads. it will take years to reach championship levels of skill at competitions to warrant hand loads, Dont worry about it and just try a match with what you got, It will be fun and educational no matter how you place 😁

    As many videos as you have done with your RPR in 6.6 Creedmoor why did you not use it in the match?

    • @Ultimatereloader

    I dig the channel and good vid. But dude, you gotta lose that faux hawk. Sorry to make a pithy comment on your appearance but it just looks bad. Just get a crew cut, or better still a pomp fade. Or grow a real hawk out and own that shit.
