    a little late to the party and I just finished watching the Il Cremonese.. but I have to let it be known that these reviews are spot on and by far the most professional I've personally watched, listened to, read or otherwise. Very very well done Luke, and everyone else involved. Keep up the good work!

    Can you use casters instead of spikes? Really important consideration for me. Thanks

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  3 месяца назад

      Hello iam, Sonus faber does not supply casters, and we don't know of many high end speaker vendors that do. But an alternative for concealing the speakers when not in use may be a dolly, basically a platform with casters. Place each speaker on it, to be rolled away when you want them out of the room. We use some dollies branded Uline; others make them too: www.uline.com/BL_723/Heavy-Duty-Steel-Dollies

    Possible to do a Lilium review? Make a comparison between the whole lineup :) You do a great job.

    Hi, what speaker cables would you recommend for this speaker?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hello Shaohaosean, the short answer is "good ones!". These are terrific speakers, not for the entry-level buyer, so it seems a shame to not invest in good cables. Your local store, as part of the audition process, hopefully includes some time with various speaker cables to find a good fit for your tastes and budget.

    Can you do a review and comparison on Serafino with the Amati.

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  3 года назад +1

      Almost exactly the same in character. The Amati has more bass extension given that it is the larger speaker, and by that same virtue is better for large rooms. Otherwise both are excellent and nearly identical in timbre and charm.

    is it true that the apex tweeter is same like on sonetto line witch i was consedering buying or sonetto 2 or 3 but many people sayd me i shoud get focal sopra 1 or aria or chorus line intead with their berrylium tweeter i like more the looks of sf my amp woud be a naim nait 5 si ,cd player i still dont have consedering or marantz or primare like i dont like naim mechanism of their cd player.

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  2 года назад

      The Sonetto tweeter is similar but not exactly the same. The Amati uses a higher quality driver but they both do feature a variant of the damped apex dome. Focal does not use a Beryllium tweeter until the Kanta series which starts around $10,000. The Chora and Aria use a Magnesium/Aluminum alloy.

    Cellulose wood pulp can we just call it paper? Lmao…. That being said these do look Beautiful. I’m looking to get some Sonos faber towers for my living room but probably something from their Sonetto line. I’m currently rocking Focals in my basement home theater.

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  3 года назад

      There is more to it than just paper lol. I didn't list every bit of material that goes into it, but in truth there is a lot more going on. You have materials like kapok, kenaf, and a little bit of others in there. The texture of the wood pulp is very different to an average paper cone too, and that is immediately noticeable.

    How many cameras does this promo need and why the focus shifts? Such a cliche.
    We are NOT shown enough re the inputs and practically nothing of the ports.
    This is review of luxury furniture and nothing to do with music.

      It has four binding posts and slot shaped ports both of which I show in B-roll. It's a feature reel of a high end speaker, not a commentary on what music I like.

      @@GramophoneMD I may have been a little inflammatory there.
      Sometimes it seems to me that companies are forced to choose a different solution than the conventional one just to apply for a patent. I am referring to the Tuned Mass Damper, for example. This is to minimize housing resonances. You could also make the case out of a sandwich design, i.e. carbon, MDF and rubber. Other companies do this too, and for a speaker that costs a lot of money, you could expect this solution.

      All I can tell you is that these are amazing speakers. I swear I could tell the brand of strings the guitar player was playing when I recently demoed them. I was actually at the store to demo the Olympica V and can’t get these Amati’s out of my head. I don’t know how much of that was due to the electronics or speakers but for me they are my favorite. Also listen to the much higher end Sonus Faber and even more expensive Focals but these just did it for me. I’ll still probably go with the Olympica V’s because I can’t afford these but I’m also wondering if I should maybe go with the stand mount version which is not much more than the Olympicas. Really driving me crazy. Wish I could live with both options for a few months.
