Hey, as a pool owner, I encourage you to make sure you know how much work and money it takes to clean your pool and adjust the chemicals. Or, you may want to consider hiring a pool tech to take care of your pool every week. It's time consuming. Also, being in TN, you have a lot of storms and weather that will require a lot of cleaning. Also, Iive in Phoenix where we have a lot of accidental pool drownings. You'd be surprised how quickly something can happen even if adults are right there. I would encourage you to wait until Zade is a couple years older before getting a pool. ♥
I don’t agree the younger they are fast and they learn how to swim just have to keep a watch full eye at ALL TIME!!

Yes, they can learn to swim and float very young, but they may not be able to find the steps and get out of the pool or hold onto the side if they are alone. @@nancyarsenault3876

Scotchguard your new chairs to create a repellant layer against spills, food crumbs, crayons/markers, dirty faces, etc.
I grew up with a pool in the backyard! It was fenced off and locked at all times when an adult was not with us. The memories are some of the best of my life!!💛
You will use any type of pool a lot less than you think you will 😂 that I do know! Be prepared to constantly monitor the kids and dedicate a lot of time to that, especially with an above-ground pool. Worth considering those points with your schedule etc. ❤

Also alarms on the doors and pool area. Kids will climb and figure out how to get to that pool much easier than you think. Not criticizing, just a touch of wisdom from this Grandma. Don’t expect swimming lessons to be the fix to the problems that come up. You will still need your watchful eyes. 💗

The way you guys travel all the time, I say no pool! Expensive and always have to wonder where the kids are. Too much anxiety! This old lady says no way! Evan, I hope you read this before Carlin deletes it. 😂😂
Definitely adds expense and anxiety. Trying to keep the water balanced and clear can drive you mad sometimes. IMO, the kids are still a little young. You would have to be out there every minute with them. I had an above ground in my yard when my kids were a little older than Layla and Zade and it was hard to get anything done in the house. Always testing the water PH, driving to the pool store to get the one chemical you need, vacuuming it, backwashing the filter, and covering it up for winter, uncovering it in the Spring got tiring real fast. I eventually took it down and gave it away when they all got to middle school and were off at school activities or sports all the time anyway.

A pool with little kids is too scary for me. I would wait until they are older and good and safe swimmers. Too scary when they are little.
That's why you put them in swimming lessons and put up locks and alarms.
None of that guarantees safety. Only thing that guarantees safety by the pool is not having one. IMO
We have an above ground Coleman pool from Walmart. I think it was 700 bucks. We did the whole thing ourselves. We paid to have a truck full of fine ground sand get dumped in the spot and after you level it then you build the pool. Pool comes with a pump and the ladder. We actually bought our own separate because the ladder that came with it only can hold up too 300 lbs and the new pump is so that we could do salt water instead of chlorine. The only thing really to complain about would be you gotta clean it every day that it's not raining otherwise your water goes green quick. And Cleaning it as much as possible is time consuming even if it's a day you can't actually swim in it. We had a lot of rain last summer in sc and so we didn't swim as often as previous summers and that annoyed the husband because he was like I could be doing something else that's needing to be done instead of cleaning a pool that's not going to get used. It's definitely a thing you really gotta learn, to keep it clean, full, the chemistry of the water, making sure it's pH balanced. We saw a lot of RUclips videos on how to figure it all out. Once you have it going a whole season you'll be good for the following summer. Closing it up for winter is another challenge. The pool cover it comes with is too small and impossible to make tight enough to keep it on long term. This winter we found the biggest tarp I've ever seen in my life and used bungie cords and it's way better. Just food for thought so later y'all aren't like what did we get ourselves into?... 😊😊

Layla is a beautiful dancer. She has great foot movement . Little boy is cuter and cuter. He looks like his Daddy. The 2 chairs are perfect in that space.

Lol.... My mom had a white couch in the early 60s with 4 kids...it lasted a long time, but we did not eat in the living room, no inside animals and no walking on the couch. We also had 2 barrel chairs.... And we did occasionally treat them as a sit and spin. The couch and chairs got recovered in the 70s and when I bought my parents house in 2016 after they passed... I had all three covered again. Been thru 4 kids, 5 grandkids and now 4 great grandkids. The couch is really long.... Typical 1960s style. I don't let anybody sit in the barrel chairs that weigh more than 180 lbs.! My 47 yr old daughter has claimed them already. I love your new chairs... I'd definitely put some colorful or beige throw blankets over them....in a stylish way of course😅
Get Scotch Guard Fabric spray and spray your new chairs. You will be glad you did.
I have a 24 foot round 4&1/2 deep above ground pool. Its a 13 thousand gallon bucket of water that cost a fortune to keep up. Plus the pump runs my power bill up about a hundred dollars a month during the summer. Yes they are fun until the new wears off, now we hardly ever get in it anymore. I would be willing to sale it Carlin if you would be interested in a used one before you go to the expense of a new 1 until you see if its really something you want to invest in.
During covid times we got a really cheap above ground pool that we put up during summer and took down. Water height was only about 4 feet deep but a pretty width, perfect for the kids to learn how to swim in. We'd take the ladder out each time we used it. It's maintenance but worth it if you're home a bit in summer to use it. I guess we're 2000s lol but we have a name sign in our bedroom. It's cool though, each letter is formed from something found in nature or a structure outdoors. Think capital C part of a wrought iron fence or H from a ladder. You could even try to find the things yourself, take the picture and frame each letter you found together to make it extra special! Video idea walking challenge. Where you film some miles long daily treks. Kids in strollers for efficiency! Thanks for sharing, God bless!
I grew up with a Pool it was at my Aunt and Uncle's house but we were always there and We had all the summer festivities there growing up on the East Coast 10 minutes from the Ocean was also great but having pool options were awesome just because its diferent,I Loved it.
Yes, above ground ! I have always had pools with my children. And we had homes on Lake Huron as well. Children need things like this for hot springs and summers. We used ours long into fall with a heater.
A pool is a lot to take care of especially if u don't know what u r doing like me.

Totally agree on getting a bigger rug for living room. I believe the rule is the rug is supposed to go all the way underneath the couch. If it’s possible find a rug big enough to span the space between the new white chairs and the couch. For your bedroom, my suggestion is to get curtains the same color as your bedding. It will anchor the room more!

After about 30 yrs my family gave up our above ground pool. The amount of work versus time to enjoy it seasonally just unfortunately wasn't worth it anymore. Plus in your scenario the risk of safety with kids and in a neighborhood.

Carlin and Evan do what you want to it your home. Some love having a pool and some don't. My only advice is if you are planning on having a house out away with a little acreage or forever home wait till then to do an in ground pool. Check with your home owners insurance to see what they require. I know you have your wood fence up but still check You may have to put gated fencing around it in case some child came into the yard to try and get in it. There's all kinds of scenarios some one could drown. I'm not trying to scare you but I know the way you two are with your kids and I'm sure you watch them like a hawk. Yes it's work keeping it clean and the chemicals right but it depends on how much you want it and are willing to do the work. You make sure you have rules and boundaries set on the use of the pool. Love to the family! ❤

Being a pool owner is a total extreme commitment! To clean, sanitize and sterilize a few times a week is massive, massive WORK”!…Watching the kids constantly around “water” is beyond extremely stressful! Winterizing the pool in the fall and preparing for Spring/Summer is massive work! You should wait until the kids are older and 8/9 years old! Little kiddie pools are fine. You can take your kids to YMCA or local pools without having the stress of constantly keeping an eye on your young curious children. You should wait on such a dangerous commitment til your kids are older for a pool!

Get the pool! Yes, it's work, but so much fun. I also live in Tennessee, and it gets so crazy hot here that I totally get it! When you go to a community pool, you have no idea what they use in that water or even when the last time the water was changed.

Our daughter and son n law have a above ground with a nice deck and it’s been the biggest blessing and fun not only for them and the grands but our whole family 🥰🥰 Just get swim lessons for the kiddos and good security gates!🙌🏻🙌🏻

Great job, great picks in chairs. We have a fan light over our bed and it’s a pain when making the bed or flipping the mattress so don’t pick any light fixture that hangs too low. 🤣

The chairs…they look great, definitely fits your style! I think an accent wall would look ahhhmazing in your living or dining area, too (the dining wall with the French doors would look great painted either black or a deep emerald/evergreen….OR the long wall so your fireplace & pictures you’re about to hang will pop). Also, the current light fixture you have in your bedroom will get more attention with a contrast painted ceiling! The pool…if it’s not your forever home, DEF don’t invest in underground. Carlin…you’re SO BLESSED to be an aunt, my husband & I have no nieces or nephews so our girls have grown up with no first cousins. Evan…my hubs also got excited when I agreed to let him keep one of our wingback chairs & move it into our bedroom, though he NEVER sits in it now! 😆 Y’ALL…keep your routine going, the kiddos depend on it, & thrive.
