DIY : Embed Speed Controller in Angle Grinder, - after converting an angle grinder to a circular saw

Converting an angle grinder to circular saw can be a money saving project. There are so many things we can do with angle grinders and we can also convert them into many useful tools such as converting angle grinder to belt sanders, drillers, routers etc. I have watched the videos, Diy circular saw from angle grinder | angle grinder hack |creative boss, and inspired, I decided to build one myself. I have also learned how to add circular saw blade fix angle grinder.
But when the angle grinder operates or run at very high PRM or speed, it makes us hard to use it as a circular saw. It might not be very safe and convenient for us to use it that way, so we need a speed controller. Some Bosch or INGCO or Makita angle grinders come with a speed controller but it’s more expensive than those without one. So I decided to build a speed controller or voltage controller for my circular saw that I converted from the angle grinder. The result is satisfying as in the cut test, I can have more control of the circular saw or angle grinder and feel safer. The way I build the cheap speed controller, make it possible to control the speed of drill machine or router etc.

Thanks bro for the question. It wont damage the motor. This speed controllers are built for angle grinders. Some brand like Bosch sell angle grinders that come with this type of speed controller. I have used the one in the video for a few year and the motor is still running fine.

hi .this is really good.. but if we add variable speed in our grinder.. set it at the lowest level (1).. is it affect the power of the grinder or no? coz when i use dimmer.. at the lowest voltage... it has no power....

I bought this speed controller from a local hardware store. It was designed for use with angle grinders, so at speed 1, it can still cut but at a much slower speed. I think dimmers are for light bulbs, not enough power for angle grinders. I think you can find one speed controller like this one on Amazon or Ali-express

FYI, mine is dimmer speed controller 220volt....i thought the dimmer is voltage regulator..basically it`s works by declining the voltage... so the rpm will be down...but less power .... how about this variable speed? do you feel the power of your grinder still same at the level 5 and level 1.. even the rpm declining?
