      Then don't tell them. No sense getting discouraged. You know what you are learning and you will learn more. RUclips has better teachers than our friends sadly, But at least we can look things up now. And we women love to talk things out, but you have to pick your audience wisely. Otherwise it can turn into a pity party and be discouraging.

      @@monsterultrawhite NAncy Reagan had this issue, she was very tiny but she had huge knees and legs, and she especially hid her knees. I understand that. Lucky I have ankles, and I don't have lipedema or much problems in my legs, but recently had a catastrophic illness and am developing a lot of weird things, like lymphedema. But I can still sympathize. I believe the toxins snuck in our food is doing this to us. The "Obesity Epidemic" began in 1970's, and Round Up began to be used in our environment and it is now widespread in the food supply. And High Fructose Corn Syrup also bgan to be sneaked into our food supply. Food Babe is a good resource, Stephanie Seneff is exploring the wide variety of health issues are being affeted by Round Up. Dr Huber has a talk on the detail of how Round Up destroys our soils, crops , livestock and humans, and bees. He's on the RUclips under Grassfed.

    I have Lipedema & I seem a lot worse then what you had when you were at your worse. I didn't know I had it till last year. I don't have the resources you have so I can't get all the things on your list. I have to do the MLD myself ' I only have knee high & thigh high stockings. Im on a Ketogenic diet. I dance for exercise. That's all I have. I'm 65 yrs old. I don't know if it would even be worth doing all the things you do at my age, even if I could afford it. I have Medicare & they don't pay for much. I have to pay for my own stockings. Also, no one where I live even know what Lipedema is. Everyone thinks it's just an excuse to justify being fat so it's all my fault. I have no tribe other then my husband. I just have to do the best I can with what I have. But I'm glad I saw your video with ur plan of care. It was helpful. TFS. Tere

      @@falicesheard9248 I was told that dieting will not help the lower part of the abdomen. The upper abdomen will decrease but it doesn't help decrease the lipedema in the legs or arms.

    They say it’s due to hormones. Insulin is a hormone. Dr Eric Wesman RUclips is reversing diabetes, fatty liver and high blood pressure with keto diet, so why not lipadema? Low carb and high fat diet. I’ve been doing keto ( no carbs or sugar) for 6 weeks and strangely enough my knees looked thinner ( a little bit but enough for me to take notice) and legs felt “lighter”. The fat on my arms doesn’t look thinner but it feels thinner too. Can this be true? It’s exciting, but I have to keep going with keto to see where it leads.

      But will that help the fibrin that encapsulates the adipose tissue? I heard nattokinase may help with that.

    Your story is identical to mine for pregnancies! Except I did it four times over and each time managed to gain more weight. I do not even know where to start with the number of doctors I have seen for these problems and am still fighting today with one particular doctor who tells me...... ‘Lipedema is a great excuse for feeding your face and not taking responsibility for the consequences ‘!

    There is really very little information about this condition in general. I don’t have lipodema but am interested in this subject, probably because of my eating disorder. Once I thought I had lymphoedema as my legs retained a lot of water. It turned out it was severe albumine deficiency, which was corrected after refeeding. However, this experience spurred me into reading more about those types of conditions and I’m keen to know more! This condition is so often mistaken for obesity yet there are such clear differences! The society should be more aware of it.

    I have only been diagnosed at the age of 67. 68 I found a doctor for lipoedema. and had liposuction. being 67 your skin does not tighten back and now I have droop and crinkles. I am now 69 and just started to notice puffy arms, very flabby skin and a brand new matching fat pods on each antecubital space. I'm thinking of going to see Dr. Cornely

      Joan try the ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting. It helps to tighten up loose skin. There is a support group on FB facebook.com/groups/LipedemaKetoWOE/?multi_permalinks=2107366906152717&comment_id=2110328475856560¬if_id=1520164157820923¬if_t=feedback_reaction_generic&ref=notif Have a look before you try surgery.

    Hi! I have EDS hypermobility and am suspecting I have lipedema based on the diagnosis videos on this channel. I have ordered a pair of compression stockings. How often should I be wearing them and what are the other lifestyle treatments? I think I am stage 1 right now and I am trying to figure it out on my own thanks.

    • @lovinglanguages1
      @lovinglanguages1 4 года назад +4

      You should never try to manage this on your own. You need to go to a doctor because sometimes with lipodema or lymphedema, you can also have an infection that you don't know about until they feel and see your skin, which can be life threatening. Also, compression socks are very detailed to the individual. They come in different ratings, strengths, depending on your stage and on how much compression they want you to have and only a doctor can tell you what stage and what compression rate they want you to have in your stockings. Some people actually have to have, like me, special order/made stockings, which you cannot buy in a store or even in a medical store. If you do end up wearing compression stockings, you have to wear them every day for the rest of your life. There is no "on or off" time, it's forever. I would encourage you to please, PLEASE go see a physician and not self diagnose yourself off of RUclips videos. While they are helpful and can give you ideas on what you may have only a true position can treat and diagnose your lipodema and if you do not have that you can cause yourself great harm.
