Wouldn’t that be the big thing. Like Martin and Lewis reuniting. Even though Matt and Garry were never a team, but you know what I mean. Do you have a topic suggestion?
@@addressinggettysburg I figured Chip and Dale or Burt and Ernie, or Michael Richard's and Jerry Stiller could come up with something good. At least u and I are on same wave length. I have the giggles so bad right now. I'm the one who suggested Garry and Atkinson to pair for a show. I got em pegged. And it just popped into my head. Lol!!! They're the grumpy old men in the balcony on the Muppets!!!
This is the stuff that fascinates me. Started college as a history major, had to take economics anyway and gravitated into a business major and eventually my MBA / CPA. A history nerd, I eat this stuff up and read like crazy. Would love your job. Tempted at times to leave the office behind. I come to Gettysburg about 3x a year on the Harley (camp out at the KOA in Ortanna) and learn something new every visit. The military stuff is ok, but I like the human experience element. Been reading about the smells. I know what is like when there is one road kill on my street. I can't imagine with all of the horses, body parts, bodies, etc. Someone once told me on a tour that the townspeople were concerned at the time of Lincoln's visit in November because some areas still smelled bad. No front-end loaders or backhoes either. Must've been some job to be on the cleanup crew.
At the old Larsons, I remember The General Lee restaurant being there. The amusement park behind Little Round Top the band director at my high school was the entertainment director he left there and became the entertainment director at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. Jack Aldridge was friends with Jim Getty, who would perform Lincoln.
I think the most obvious remaining part of the Trolley can be seen near the road that skirts the Rose Farm. I used to walk my dogs over it, it still has stone bridges that the trolley would cross over some streams on its way towards the triangular field.

I own a barbershop in Martinsburg, West Virginia. We love our town and her history. Part of what i do and what my barbers have embraced is to share the history of the area and therefore promote tourism and exploration. When I first went in 1991, I seem to remember traffic on Sickles Ave near Devils den going in the opposite direction. Am I misremembering or were my parents one of those tourists who invariably go the wrong way?
I do believe you are correct. I seem to remember a change in traffic patterns since I started coming here in the 90s. Hell, Warren Ave used to be 2 ways not even 15 years ago.
Couple questions of geography, was able to go only for a day this summer, is the area where the big horse statues of Hancock and Howard east cemetery hill? looking down onto culps hill? And is that emmitsburg road, the road between those statues and the cemetery?, then that runs down to virginia monument? Then how do you get to the seminary where the copula is from the cemetery arch entrance? Will definitely go back for a couple days next time, thanks for video
That is East Cemetery Hill. The road is the Baltimore Pike. Emmitsburg Road goes between cemetery and seminary ridges. The Virginia memorial is on West Confederate Ave. To get to the seminary from the cemetery, head north on Baltimore, then west on West Middle St until you get to Seminary Ave.
Didn’t Ulysses Grant specify to have carriages with both a Union and Confederate Veteran inside to symbolize the healing of the country in his funeral procession in NYC?
@@addressinggettysburg Even more symbolic. But was referring to the procession that had a number of carriages following the casket in a procession in NYC

Loved this with Garry and Tim anytime!!! I really like when ya'll do in live! More please! Thanks so very much!
We will when we can. Glad you enjoyed it
Hey guys,
I LOVE the way Tim slows his speech pattern to emphasize importance of a fact or name!
Keep on, keepin' on, Tim!
Yeah that’s our favorite thing he does
Best way to start a Monday morning!

The big brick buildings off Taneytown Road. Didn't they have something to do with the trolley / maintenance?
Yes it is the maintenance building.
