Your DVDs were super helpful when I was starting out. Now that there's a plethora of instructional videos on RUclips, I'm glad to see you're staying one step ahead. Best of luck on your new venture!
I bought your Roland MC 909 tutorial dvd when I bought the groove box new. The 909 never broke down after all these years. Your video was super easy to understand. Good luck on your new journey.
Congratulations, David. You have been a constant teacher for me, a rank amateur when I started doing sound my bands fifteen years ago. I'm looking forward to where you are taking this next.
Great job David. I had ask myself why am I coming here to view this on a work day. its' because of your excellent teaching David. You did such a wonderful job of making complicated things simple through your DVD's I'm grateful. Good luck and Blessings on your new endeavor.
Thanks so much! I often say...I can't fix your car, but I DO know this stuff. Sometimes you just have to find your lane and stick with it. I appreciate your kind words! David
Hi David, Good luck with the new venture and for all the help you have given to me and so many other people. I would never have mastered the Roland VS2480 without your help.
Ahhhh Ray...I didn't think we went that far back together. I remember exactly where I was shooting that DVD on the VS-2480 back in the early 2000s. Thanks SO much for your support over the years :) David
Hi David, looking forward to the new venture. After having been out of doing sound for my church, am now back involved. Your dvd training has been a big help in getting me transitioned to the digital mixer world. Thanks much. Godspeed in the new adventure.
David your dvd's have been such a great help to me. You have a talent for dumbing it down for us newbies.. while teaching us. I hope that your new endeavour will still have a very strong focus on teaching from a "beginners" aspect, as well as interaction with established music industry insiders. Good luck on the new venture.
Thank you David! It is always excellent to see evolment in the area which is evolving. Please remember us who are humble hobby studio owners and studio geeks. Mine hope is to get simple tricks to make simply music sound better.
David, I am very excited for this new venture! Your help with the 2488 mkII and Neo have been instrumental to my studio efforts and helped push this old dinosaur to the next levels! Cannot wait to see where this goes!!!
You’ve been great David, I’m looking forward to seeing what you have up your sleeve lol. The digital world is really progressing and leaving us old school guys in the dust . I gotta get with the times and I’m hoping part of your platform is geared towards this. Thanks again.
Well , Anything that you've done through Pro Audio Dvds has been enjoyable to watch and I've always learned a lot, Thanks for that … So naturally, wherever you're going, you'll have a Large community of people following. Those that don't follow here in 2019 will get left behind … Always Moving Forward !! Good Luck.
What a large undertaking...David, It has been a number of years since I purchase several of your DvD series... and Im still a newbie... My small dream - is to be able to record my wife and I (amateur musicians / guitar - uke's - mandolin - cello etc... playing our own stuff and covers) and also record our friends & families (for our enjoyment, for history - to pass on to our kids-kids). My challenge remains - finding LOW COST TOOLS (software & hardware) that does not require a degree in music production ... It is easy to become overwhelmed thus this is a boxed up dream... Im sure there are thousands of people like me stuck at this point... I know it is unrealistic to have a plug & play (so to speak) system that could produce quality recordings - that easily addresses all the problems that impact on sound quality and produce recordings that sound great - years from now... (including overdubbing / laying of instruments - aside from straight one take recordings)... I hope your new platform has room for the true struggling amateur... with low cost true and tried recommendations that can open this door and help us to attain our dream... David, Your DREAM does sound epic in its goals - and Im certain those who want to master the many nuances of recording and learn from world class engineers will be a part of your new platform success... I also recognize that your venture is a business - and for your investment to be profitable will require individuals and musicians who want to learn from the best THUS find or have the resources to invest in their careers (both with training and equipment)... Thanks for putting up with my rant... I do wish you the best - its been your bedside manner (so to speak), that attracted me to you site and tune in when I want to get a little overwhelmed and inspired (oh yes frustrated - lol)... So I'm sure you will ensure your new platform will maintain that ability to reach out to the untrained amateur... Peace
Thank you for your service. I’ve learned so much from your lessons and I inform others of the work you do. You’ve done a remarkable amount of work that has been incredible and successful for so many years. I hope to stay in contact and I wish to be a subscriber to your new site ProaudioEXP. Thanks again and see you through your new website soon. God bless.
Excited for you and your new adventure David. I've been a follower and a ProAudioDVDs customer for many years so I'll just say See You on the Other Side.
Good Luck David with your new venture. Personally I'm out of the music industry these days but i thank you immensely for your help with the TD20 and the Fantom G8 (now boxed up collecting dust)
Sounds terrific David! If it’s anywhere close to the quality of your previous products, this will be huge!! I train worship teams and voice actors and have recommended your products to sooo many! God bless this new endeavor!!
David, good luck with the new venture. Please don't lose sight of the fact that as interesting as it will be seeing interviews with professional, world class audio engineers, most of us don't make our living through music production, albeit we'd probably love to. I'd suggest that there will always be a demand for clear, concise instructional videos on much of the various hardware and software we aquire at an alarming rate. There's a significant amount of new gear on the market for which zero tutorial assistance is currently available plus with professional DAW's such as Cakewalk by Bandlab now being given away free, the market is in rapid change. Please don't forget your core audience, cheers.
I'd agree - there's definitely a place for both - "gear" stuff, as well as practical interviews, etc. Safe travels, and thank you for all you've done thus far!
Whilst the need for instructional videos remains, it's getting more difficult to make it pay. The DVD market more generally is collapsing and, in this specialist field, there are now many more videos available online from the manufacturers themselves and independent content providers.
Great stuff .. have really benefitted from your earlier videos .. my last album a product of same .. now working in Garageband and on the trusty old Fantom X8 ... having lots of fun and being very productive.
Looking forward to seeing how this develops David, shared passion and passing on knowledge and empowerment have been your core values, may you be majorly blessed as you pioneer the sharing of these values within the larger industry as a whole. Respect, Dan
I first came in touch with your expertise when I bought a Roland VM3100 Pro a "few" years ago. Just yesterday I sent it back to Roland for its annual checkup. I still have not "mastered" it even with your leadership, because I spent a few years on the road with a group out of Colorado Springs (my 2nd home) and then the same live work after I came back home to Kansas. I as others am looking forward to your new adventure. Best of luck! Edgar "Doc Fuzz B3" Barbera
Sounds like a great idea David. I've got some of your stuff from years ago and you've taught me a lot and I thank you for that. My main need is going to be stuff "beyond the basics" - like mastering tips for example. Good luck! I hope it goes well.
Hello David. Wish you all the best for this new project. I only hope that I will continue to get access to my bought content (Home Recording School) after the transition. Best regards from Portugal
Wow David, it is with mixed feelings that I say this. Firstly you are the man who put me on my feet with my home recording studio, and I am so sad that I won't be getting more of your outstanding videos. But having said that, I can only say that I wish you infinite luck in your new venture. You have earned it, and I wish you all the luck in the world to grow from strength to strength. Stan
MY Stan! Feel like I know you even though we have never met. If I did nothing else but help you in your endeavor which is now your commercial studio www.kazaudiovibes.com...I'd be a happy man. By the way, I think you mistook part of the message. I am definitely creating more and more courses. I am not retiring...just the brand ProAudioDVDs and the new one will be everything you have enjoyed up until now AND lot's more. Anyway...appreciate you so much mate! David
Congratulations David, this is exciting news! I wanted to thank you for all that you did with Pro Audio DVDs, it certainly helped me a lot. I'm looking forward to this new channel and will definitely follow. If you're coming to Australia any time in the future drop me a line, I'd be happy to meet you in person mate.
I'm still waiting for tutorial series about YAMAHA RS-7000 and KORG Electribe EMX-1. lol.Good luck David, I'm looking forward to see how you'll go about your new venture. Your pro-audio-dvd series helped me a lot in lots of ways in the past.
David, Sounds great! The world of music continues to evolve. It is exciting to be on the cusp of all the new production and experience generated. By the way, I thank you for all the instruction on the Tascam DP-24. It was a great help. You can view my song "Right as Rain" on RUclips (Marty Beil). That song was the result of your help. I performed all the instruments myself with the help of a beat buddy-- then I sent to video on my iPhone/IMovie.
Hey buddy! Glad to hear you are expanding and still inspired to do what you do/offer so well! I look fwd to the future with your amazing help. If you are not already Lind up with collaborators, lmk and I’d be happy to share some of my faves I’ve found over the years for different reasons or daws, etc. Cheers David!
Wow...that is a humbling thing to read. So glad you didn't. The world does not need another instrument in the closet. We have to be lifers! Live long musicians and engineers. Nice to hear from you :) D
HI david ignore the Solo driving link its not meant as an advert through you. i just cant seem to send comments without this old address of mine appearing. Anyway David its great to see ProaudioDvds is evolving into a more interactive 2 way format and hopefully if its as professional as your former site it will do great things and we will all remain on the pulse of old school and modern recording techniques.
