I had the pleasure of working with SB this weekend at an exclusive event. She was a part of the staffing team. I complimented her on her style and she began to tell me she is a professional model. She also mentioned that she had been on this program, hence my reason for watching now. Not only is SB physically beautiful, but she also has a gorgeous soul. Looking back at her struggles several years ago documented on Benefits Street, I never would have thought this working alongside her. I started out pregnant at 19. I lived in a basement flat with my baby and my sister. It was in London in 1975. It was a struggle. I’m 69 now. I’m not rich. I’ve worked to get what I have. No one gave me a thing. I was determined that my kids wouldn’t grow up in commission housing. They didn’t. I built a little house which I and my kids loved. It was home. You can do it.
Maybe don't talk about a time where everything was easier and apply it to now. We're now in developed capitalism, aka a hellhole so your advice is outdated.
I used to think like that, nothing good happens to me, I’m the unluckiest person in the world, my life is rubbish. Until I changed my thinking that was my life but you can switch from being a negative thinker to a positive thinker and when you do the world changes around you. I was an overweight heroin addict who didn’t look after myself, since I’ve changed my thinking I’ve gotten a job that I love, I’ve lost 8 stone in weight, I’ve taught myself how to play the guitar, I’m in a routine of exercise and healthy eating, I’ve stopped smoking and drinking and my life has completely changed! All because I’ve changed my perceptions of myself and the world when you do that the world around you changes and I’m living proof of that.
This was so wonderful to hear, that you put the effort in to changing your life for the better. It would not have been an easy journey for you, a lot of determination I would imagine, and you came through a shining star. As one already commented, we get one chance of life ..so live it happily and healthily, congratulations on such a fine, fine effort! Blessings🙏
Not easy when someone goes through domestic violence, starting over is scary with ptsd, depression but for the kids, to give them peace and happiness is worth it. Things will get better... slowly but will get better

Having no job is not as great as it seems. I am on Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) here in the United States and, through no fault of my own, I can’t work. I was on life support about two weeks ago due to a 17th bout and extremely serious bout of pneumonia that almost killed me. I also have several other dangerous medical conditions that are preventing me from working. Thank God I’m still alive today. I worked for 31 years and I do miss it. I am going back to church again tomorrow and I’m REALLY looking forward to that. My pastor visited me several times in the ICU and on the regular ward when I was in the hospital. He talked to me and prayed with me. He is truly a man of God. I have had so many serious medical issues over the last 20 years that my doctors are really surprised that I’m still alive today. I was able to work until a few years ago when I had to stop because I just got too sick. I miss having a job.

These fathers need to have their asses dragged into family court and made to contribute to their child’s up bringing. I don’t care if the fathers are even on benefits themselves…they should be made to contribute something, no matter how little their income.
How can you be telling your kids to sign on benefits and sit at home rather than look for a job or build a career for yourself? I thought it was meant to be a safety net to help those looking for employment, not to stay unemployed and never look to better yourself. If you're fit and healthy you should at least be looking for work and be a role model for your kids, otherwise they will simply follow in your footsteps and achieve nothing in life and we only get one shot at it so why not try to make the best of it as possible. Feels such a waste otherwise if you have no ambitions or goals. Without a decent education which gives you choices about how you want to live and not be constricted by a low income you will always struggle with low paid jobs. The African guy has the right attitude when he said he you don't work you don't eat and has brought that same ethos with him to the UK. Since Brexit there are many jobs available with so many foreign workers returning home, but are they getting filled? Not from the reports.

This show proves that Channel 4 doesn’t care about people’s mental health and wellbeing. They just want your money and they couldn’t care less about the people they film. They’re exploiting the vulnerable for views and it’s a scary thought that a company would do that. Channel 4 should be held accountable for this and all the other terrible ideas they’ve made over the years. Honestly, the people at Channel 4 should be shovelling horse manure as a more honourable way to make a living.
White dee saying "everyone deserves to see their kids no matter what has gone on" bullshit! I usually agreed with most of the stuff she said but not that!!
they could stretch their dollars more if they'd quit smoking ! that costs a lot of their money, plus the added health issues it causes to themselves and those around it , anther added cost, i get it, its an addiction, but there are treatments, and help for it.
For those gassing about white Dee, she's a typical salt of the earth british mother. She is laughs and banter. Bright side of the coin type thing. Council estate living isn't easy. It's a challnge in itself.
It's not an estate though. It's a street of privately owned houses (albeit ones rented out). Nothing to do with council housing. Dee makes working class people look bad, and makes people who have no idea about hardship think benefits are wasted on people who have no interest in contributing (it's supposed to be a safety net not something you rely on permanently). I don't know her story so I won't judge, but I also won't celebrate her. She is a fucking character though!
@@muzi2672 it's a perfect example of landlords that don't give a fuck but cream the system too. Look at Fungis House. No electric or water. Disrepair but paid for by the state and no responsibility on the owners behalf because Fungi is seen as a lesser being. It's not an estate you're right but it has all the characteristics and characters to boot with the same working class (lower class closeness). Community etc. Looking out for each other. There is more to say about the rich not paying their share which makes services and support unfundable for the poorest in Britain. Lack of youth groups, community interest groups. No funding for supporting these disadvantaged people. It's a shame. I've met Dee, she's lovely. Especially after her break she was able to kick start her life again. It's a shame it took ridiculing her amd her kin for that to happen. I know people like everyone in the series. The forgotten. Is what it is though. There are opportunities for folk but sometimes people need support which isn't there when it's needed without lily padding to gain it.
@@janes9264 fair play to her. People knock folk for being on benefits when the biggest scroungers are the people at the top hiding money and getting bonuses. Hats off to her I say. Had a moment and capitalised on it and still frowned upon, some people just cant do right eh.

The way food banks work over there is cruel, in New Zealand you just rock up, no papper work, no limit to the times you can visit, no questions, they just hand out food to people who need it.
Unfortunately over here, it has to be this way as it would be totallly abused by people who didnt need help..but just wanted something for nothing..sad but true.
I hope someone told that poor boy that he was also allowed to be traumatised by what he saw, that it was OK to talk about what scared and upset him, and that he isn't automatically destined to become a violent domestic abuser himself just because of his gender. After witnessing domestic abuse he is statistically more likely to be victimised himself as an adult, but people only assume it happens to girls.
Exactly, my parents who live in a nice area know most of the people who live on the road because it's so nice people don't want to move. I on the other hand live on a estate and have never seen my next door neighbor.

I use to leave this road 10 years ago with my parents in Handsworth.
I know this people and the fun guy I saw him always outside the street buying drugs .
DONT DO DRUGS PEOPLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
even if you hit rock bottoms, there will always be ways out. just have to figure it out
i was in same place in Stokton on tees... thats harrible... i was runing away from UK...
Get real snowflake ppl watch this like a mfer wouldn't make it if ppl didn't watch
They are running a *BUSINESS* after all
Funny how they can afford smokes.
Just what I was thinking. Probably rollies.
And booze
Coz its a way of life. Why gwt a job its effort
When capitalism has you under its boot, you find comfort in little things like cigarettes. Grow up and gain some empathy.
Why is this comment section not been locked theres gonna be no love on here
This is uk culture and I wouldn't change it for the world we have it rough sometimes but we all keep smile on our face keep going 😊
White dee saying "everyone deserves to see their kids no matter what has gone on" bullshit! I usually agreed with most of the stuff she said but not that!!
Lovely to see white Dee is on the seafood diet! 😂😂😂
"I don't want money" whilst literally claiming free money and fit to work. Disgraceful
These people just want to sit and do nothing. This is so unfair to the taxpayers.
I sure wish we had NHS in the US we are one of the richest countries yet our country supports other countries but our own😢🙄🙄
So on top of gun crime , racketeering, kidnappings, drug abuse, etc , you want a British style nhs in the USA 😂😂
We never had much as kids but my Dad always had cigarettes. Probably why we all grew up to not smoke. Don’t know how my Mum managed.
they could stretch their dollars more if they'd quit smoking ! that costs a lot of their money, plus the added health issues it causes to themselves and those around it , anther added cost, i get it, its an addiction, but there are treatments, and help for it.
At least Donna seems to care about Fungi. 44:37
He did lost a lot of time. The only time he has available… sad, but may be a warning to others.
For those gassing about white Dee, she's a typical salt of the earth british mother. She is laughs and banter. Bright side of the coin type thing. Council estate living isn't easy. It's a challnge in itself.
Well said mate.
She is now famous and off benefits and classed as a celebrity.
@@janes9264 fair play to her. People knock folk for being on benefits when the biggest scroungers are the people at the top hiding money and getting bonuses. Hats off to her I say. Had a moment and capitalised on it and still frowned upon, some people just cant do right eh.
How much are cigarettes in England? Quit smoking and spend the money on healthy food for your family.
they just sit there and do nothing. how about being street proud and clean up the rubbish around you.
Hiasenth Bucket would be appalled at what England has become
She would never watch channel 4 so would never know. LOL
Is that the correct spelling for her surname??
@drone2u That's right sorry, Mrs. Bouquet.
@rjohnson9543 no I think you're right in the spelling it's pronounced like that.. I remember her arguing with the post man over the whole thing lol..
@@drone2u yes, I remember her having to explain the different pronunciation a few times too. Spelled Bucket but pronounced Bouquet.
Putrid humans, that poor dog has anxiety issues living there
Some wonderful people in this street! I wish they were in my street! Would just love to sit and chat to them….
People also chooseyto live like this. It's in a way comfortable life to live in squalor and chaos
is he called 'Funghi'? Bless him lol, no offence just funny. I've been through my fair share of shit so I do feel inspired by these people trying to make a better life.
He passed away.

Id love to have the confidence of that lady who wants to be a model.
She made it as a model though. Google Sherrell Dillion
I need a shower after watching this. ಠ_ಠ
@@lmm2103 Agreed, they have a lot to learn.
because working class people are so dirty... get a grip!!!
The only thing that'd need cleansing is your soul, if you had one that is.
@@emelehem none of them works. No working class there.
"How are we meant to live on £50 a week? 😢"
Erm, maybe get a job and stop scrounging 😂
Maybe use contraceptives? 😆
Am I supposed to feel sorry? I fkn work 12 hours a day and on my days off I clean houses and I have 2 teenagers that eat like Pitt buls
White dee is a name?🤣🤣🤣
Tbf if it was Dee White, you wouldnt be surprised, Praneeta?
Her name is Deidre or something
But, it is spelled Bucket. 😂 Loved the show.
Every other gremlin wants to be a model.
They should go bk to the street just to see where everyone is today hopefully things have improved

Why do these people seem to think that just because you live in a "posh" area you don't know your neighbors?
Exactly, my parents who live in a nice area know most of the people who live on the road because it's so nice people don't want to move. I on the other hand live on a estate and have never seen my next door neighbor.
Cause posh people are pretentious twats more often than not, hope that helps x
Fungi .. man’s happy 😆 😂🎉 I’m not even listening right now because Simpson’s is on 😂
Rest easy fungi bro
