    In the end Mehrunes Dagon was successful. despite failing to physically seize nirn, he did end up evoking destruction, revolution and change. The disintegration of the empire is a testament to that.

    • @TheMikman79
      @TheMikman79 7 лет назад +47

      SSJ3 God Broly That doesn't change what he said. Yes, Dagon got defeated, but being a Daedric Prince he basically just got sent back to his plane of Oblivion. What he said was that Dagon, being the Prince with the sphere of change, still managed to accomplish one of his goals, which was to destabilize the current world at the time.

    Then all of a sudden, the Dwemer burst out of the ground with fully automated turrets, killing every last Aldmeri soldier. They then rebuild their giant brass God to knock over the White Gold Tower, and replace it with a Dwemer pipe. Truly, the best way to end the war.

      agree, specially since is Talos empire. I also decided to side with the Imperials after hearing many people saying that, before Ulfric uprising in Malkrath, many people kept Talos amulets and shrines in their houses. AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, when you read Elenwen journal and she literally says the civil war is beneficial for the thalmor. Down with Ulfric, the killer of kings! Although many imperial actions aren't justified

    • @rickastley4993
      @rickastley4993 7 лет назад +29

      TVegaC First of all, it's states that either side winning the war will be troublesome for the Thalmor, the whole point is to drag the war out. Secondly the Stormcloaks didn't kill any innocent people in the Markarth uprising; sources that indicate this in game are most likely bias. (If you didn't already know a lot of book information on Skyrim is biased)

    • @rickastley4993

      iiMuffinsaur The Stormcloaks are right, it's essentially nationalism. Why should the Nords be ruled by a far away empire that A. Has little in common with Skyrim, excluding the fact that some of the gods are the same and B. Is in too much of a wretched condition to even enforce its sovereignty.Talos/Tiber Septim won the empire through blood and conquest; so there's no reason why the Stormcloaks shouldn't be able to do the same.

    And people say that Titus Mede was a weak and cowardly Emperor for surrendering to the Dominion. He knew that the Empire was weakened and that it was in no state to go to war, but he did it anyway. That takes strength & bravery even knowing you're in no fit state to fight a war.
    He could've accepted the terms of the ultimatum but he refused even knowing that the Thalmor would go to war. Anyone who still doubts if the Emperor made the worng decision to surrender to the Dominion.
    Think what would've happened to Tamriel as a whole if Titus hadn't surrendered and been killed by the Thalmor, the Empire would've been leaderless and would've collapsed along with every province even Skyrim, Hammerfell & High Rock.

      And let's not forget what happened before Titus signed the Concordat, when he retook the Imperial City. If I remember right, Titus Mede II and his troops were getting ready to charge into battle to take back the city when suddenly Titus takes out a Daedric Artifact (the sword Goldbrand) and battles with it. Not to mention how he displayed the defeated Thalmor leader to the entire city by hanging him from the Tower or Imperial Palace or whatever. I forget the details.
      Titus Mede II was a secret badass.
      Edit: Did some research. Apparently, the Forgotten Hero was disguised as Titus Mede II for the battle to retake the Imperial City, Titus Mede II himself was leading a completely separate battle to capture the Thalmor general (Lord Naarifin) at the same time. Also, Goldbrand is not a Daedric Artifact (although it was the reward for the Daedric Quest of Boethiah in Oblivion). Also, the rumor that Titus Mede II wielded it has never been confirmed or denied by the Imperial government. Lastly, Lord Naarifin was kept alive for 33 days while hanging from the White-Gold Tower, until a winged Daedra supposedly carried him off on the 34th day.

But I feel like we don't have enough info to judge if Black Marsh can do such a thing since they attacked a very weakened Morrowind which is why they won and they still got pushed back and out of Morrowind by the Dunmer who were badly weakened. But I do want and think that Dunmer and Argonians could take on the Dominion

      what? Dunmers are basically powerless. their population can't even grow big because of the Red Mountain. Plus the Argonians are way too back in technology to take on something like the Aldemeri. It's basically saying that Serbia could conquer USA.

    • @chickensandwich6400
      @chickensandwich6400 7 лет назад

      kappa guy The Dunmer have already started rebuilding on Vvardenfel and there population is growing. And the Argonians aren't behind in technology they use the same stuff everyone else uses. They just use a different type of a warfare method. The Dunmer are rebuilding and their population is growing. Plus when Morrowind is under attack all the great houses come together which is a threat to the invaders. Morrowind is recovering at a good pace and with house Redoran at the top, the Dunmeri military will be a focus. In the time of Skyrim Morrowind can most likely win in a fight against High Rock, Elswyr and Valenwood if they didn't have Empire or Dominion support. Even scholars say when It comes to military Morrowind is right behind Cyrodiil in military might. Also Dunmer aren't the ones to just give up so the Dunmer aren't powerless and they have already started rebuilding on Vvardenfel and the rest of Morrowind the got sacked by Black Marsh. One more point If the Imperials have control of Riften they even say that the are afraid that Morrowind might try to do something and that's why they are glad to have Riften as a city to keep a eye on them. Again Morrowind isn't powerless and they are recovering very well. Now for Black Marsh I can't say much because they got beat back by the Dark Elves when they were at their weakest state

      +Adolf Hitler Just like when you invaded poland (Hihi history joke) I don't think the Stormcloaks would be able to hold of the Thalmor. Remember that the Imperial legion is waaay bigger than what you see in Skyrim. Those in Skyrim are just local recruited soldiers while 90% of the Legion is stationed at the border with the dominion (Tullius tells you that somewhere in the questline I believe, correct me if I am wrong)
      Also the reason Hammerfell was able to repel the Dominion was because half of the Legion stayed there under "Retirement" so they had twice the strenght (If not more) of regular Hammerfell.
      So to conclude, no, I don't think the stormcloaks would be able to stop the Dominion if they are the leading power in Skyrim. Because the Thalmor army is 29397 times larger than the small legion stationed in Skyrim which the Stormcloaks already struggle to defeat.
      I hope that answers your question ^.^

      oh they will. they r waiting out the civil war. they don't want either side to win. they want them to go as long as possible until the Empire stop sending troops and recalling wats left the legion in Skyrim. because the empire cant keep sending in soldiers to quell a rebellion. the civil war is in a stalemate and as long as the Dragonborn doesn't join a side, itll only be a matter of time until the Empire gives up and recalls wats left of their legion. only then will the dominion attack. now, if the Dragonborn joins the rebels, itll be beneficial for both sides. the empire will have to recall their soldiers from Skyrim. which means less land to protect and more soldiers in Cyrodiil to protect it from the dominion *though High Rock would have to rely on the Imperial Navy now but who cares :D* and though they will be much weaker from the war, at least they will have more soldiers on the border of the dominion and the empire. the Kingdom of Skyrim will be independent, lead by High King Ulric Stormcloak, and will provide a safe haven for all the talos worshippers who r hiding from the thalmor. not only that, but Skyrim can focus on building their own military. a actual army of soldiers instead of militia. they will also focus on building a navy to protect their only coast; the northern coast. and if the thalmor want to take Skyrim but not go to war with the empire yet, they will have to land in Skyrim by sea. and Skyrim will already heavily fortified their borders. not to mention the Dragonborn will be fighting along side the new Skyrim Military. itll be very costly to the Dominion and would most likely be a failure

    • @tob1182
      @tob1182 6 лет назад +21

      GodofGames2468 It is much more beneficial if the dragon born joins the side of the imperials. The thalmor themselves state that it would be more beneficial for the stormcloaks to win as it would weaken the empire and leave skyrim in a state of disarray making it much easier to conquer in the future. After the stormcloaks have been defeated the empire can focus on destroying the thalmor with them help of the dragon born.

    If you've played the Helgen Reborn mod in Skyrim, you'll know it makes references to the Sacking of the Imperial City by the Aldmeri Dominion. One of the main characters you meet in the quest mod is a former renowned general in the Imperial Legion, who is now in hiding in Helgen and is being hunted down by the Thalmor. Long story short, during the war, he fought along side the Redguards in Hammerfell, but he was not there when the elves sacked the capital. He had family in the city, and they were subjected to their atrocities. Because he is renowned, a high ranking Thalmor leader ordered the rape of his wife, his daughter, and even his son. What's really fucked up is how later on the same Thalmor leader brags about it hysterically in front of the general while he is dying from a spell he cast upon him.

    • @hankhill8146
      @hankhill8146 7 лет назад +42

      Nope, Cyrodiil is more militarized than it's ever been before and more than every other province, however most of the soldiers are stationed at the borders waiting for the Dominion's next invasion. The Emperor even hesitates to give General Tullius reinforcements because he doesn't want to weaken their defenses in Cyrodiil in case the Dominion attacks.

    • @cillianthestupendous6093

      Martin Stich The way you put it, is that the Empire barely has a military left. The Argonians still couldn't invade because that area still would be hot with soldiers and it's just across from the Niben river. All they'd have to do is march a Legion or two across and destroy any Argonian invasion.

      I don't know if that is even possible to be honest. If it was possible it would definitely be the best outcome... but it is very unlikely that would happen. The best chance the humans have against the Thalmor is to be united in the current Empire.

    I never understood why people consider it an Aldimeri victory. The Aldimeri Dominion ended up paying the Empire a ton of gold, their army groups were both nearly totally destroyed (and their main general was captured), and Hammerfell defied one of the terms of the Concordat (thus succeeding from the Empire) and kept up the fight. The situation is a textbook stalemate at the Valenwood, Elsweyr, Cyrodiil border. In fact, I would say the Empire is most likely to win a second great war considering that Hammerfell is still kinda friendly with the Empire, and Skyrim stays with the Empire no matter what side of the Civil War you choose.

    If they make the Stormcloaks win and it is set at that, it would be smart to have an independent Skyrim that is an ally to the Empire. The nords would still be happy with no empire in their borders, and they could both work to end the Aldmeri Dominion. It’s a win win if they join but not under the same banner, Stormcloaks and Imperials together with no need to fight amongst themselves.

    Talos was the same if not worse than this, he forced the Summerset Isles into the empire with a magical robot from the Dwemer because he was too bitchass to take them in a fight. I don't even blame them for banning his worship. He wasn't so holy. I really hope the next Elder Scrolls are in Summerset Isles so we get a inside look at them, because right now they are just a villain with no depth.

      I agree with some of what you said, but not all. Tiber Septim did viciously conquer most of Tamriel (some provinces wanted to join the Empire and they only loosely took hold of Black Marsh (as shown by how easily they left)), but he was a tactical genius about it. Taking your best shot at victory isn't really being a bitchass. While I do sympathize with pre-Thalmor Altmer for being forced into the Empire, their retaliation was an overreaction. Thoughts of their racial supremacy bolstered their already inflated egos and imposed thoughts of grandeur. While his methods were more than a little questionable, the Empire did bring upon an almost unheard of time of peace, prosperity, and and continental trade. The new Dominion mainly wishes to take Tamriel to prove how large their cumulative cocks are. This wouldn't be a problem if they just took a more passive state like the Argonians. They didn't attempt "revenge" or anything of the sort towards the Empire. Their only hostile actions were towards the Dunmer, who have mistreated the Argonians almost since the dawn of their race.

    I really want to see a story where skrim breaks off then comes into an alliance with hammerfell. Being cut off high rock leaves. The Dominion invades and takes cyrodil. Then a alliance of Skyrim hammerfell and high rock invade cyrodiil with the dragonborn at the lead with the upper hand with an army of dragons with the objective to reclaim it. Valenwood leaves the Dominion due to high elven purges on the natives. The imperial city is reclaimed with the dragonborn crowned emperor. Elsywer is "persuaded" to join the new empire. Valenwood is also excepted because of their "neutrality" in the liberation of cyrodiil. A full on invasion on summerset. A battle with all races save the argonians and the dunmer. Dragons sweeping through aldmeri forces clashing of blades a naval battle along the entire cost and magic flying from one side to another. Thanks to the dragons and an anti thalmor rebellion leads to the fall of the aldmeri Dominion. a new empire is founded with Morrowind and argonia maybe joining later on.

      Because they have no power to do anything in the 4th era. Cyrodiil itself was overrun by bandit groups and Mede has only partially restored it by the time the war breaks out. I recommend the novels, The Infernal City and Lord of Souls.

    Isn't the Dragonborn in Skyrim actually not the legitimate ruler of the Empire now? Wasn't Tiber Septim not a dragonborn aswell? Put the fking demigod of a mortal on that throne and end this war, he could easily be hailed as the reincarnation of Tiber Septim.

    I guess the goal for a future elder scrolls game is for the map to encompass all of tamriel for the player to explore.

    this reaffirms my stormcloak position, with the main Aldemeri army "destroyed" and the second army on the retreat in Hammerfell, the emperor should have easily been able to occupy northern Anequina at the very least, considering they had 3 yes damaged but battle hardened armies against either no Thalmor armies or an occupation force which would be thin and inexperienced, Titus Mede took the cowards way out.

    I never realized how the civil war in Skyrim really played a huge part, as if the cloaks win it cuts the remaining empire in half and 100% sure the Bretons would leave the empire leaving only cyrodil. that would be disastrous for the empire. The obvious choice to leave the realm of men connected as one nation as the elves are. that's the only way to keep a balance

    this video opened my eyes to something, the civil war in Skyrim, not the Empire's fault, they did sign the White-Gold Concordat, which the Thalmor purposely targeted to piss of the people of Skyrim, and as some points of lore tell us, the Thalmor don't want the civil war to end, because it means both the empire and Skyrim, which is arguably one of the strongest provinces, are both weakened, and if the civil war wasn't altered by the dragonborn, the Thalmor may have been able to just sorta walk through the remaining empire and Skyrim, with some defense of course, say the warriors of hammerfell, they wouldn't just roll over and be taken over, but the point was to make it easier for them to invade, so, headcanon just made up by me

    Not sure why there are so many comments asking why the Bretons of High Rock didn't fight, is that mentioned somewhere that I missed? According to the map they remained part of the Empire, so it's safe to assume their citizenry would be allowed to volunteer for or be drafted into the Imperial Legion forces...

  • @celan4288

    I would like to know your source for the statement that Thalmor agents installed the An Xileel in Black Marsh.
    Mede simply lost his nerve, and he's wasting resources trying to prop up the empire's rotting structures rather than accept that the old empire is dead.

    I find the Argonians stand neat. They left the Empire and decided to invade Morrowind (Which I don't blame them) and if all failed they can easily return to Black Marsh and defend their land if they have to because it is pretty hard for foreigners to Black Marsh to survive aswell as fight the Argonians.

    I read the thalmor dossier that saying ulfric is thalmor's secret weapon .I find it interesting if I can backfire Thalmor by using their own so-called secret weapon, so I join Stormcloak and destroy Empire. Plus ,I just want to cause some chaotic environment in the game .(Hopefully I can destroyed Thalmor and betrayed Stormcloak after a destruction of the Empire in Skyrim. Too bad I can't do them in the game.)
