I'm trying to build a bunch of secret rooms and passages in my friend's base and needed something that wasn't going to leave an obvious lever or button on an otherwise inconspicuous looking wall. For any Java people having trouble getting the bottom piston to fire: make sure that the repeater that's set to 4 tics is facing the right way. Mine was sideways and not firing properly, but turning it 90 degrees fixed it.
Works perfect in Java 1.19.3! Excellent tutorial. Great secret door. I use the redstone torch to close the door on the inside instead of a button...makes it so I can never lose my redstone torch, put it in a chest somewhere or use it to make a redstone component while I'm inside the room.

I’ve been looking for over 30 minutes for one that doesn’t involve lover or button and that doesn’t get instantly put back into place after you press it.
Can't get it to work in Bedrock 1.19. Tried over and over with varying the repeaters and comparators, the timing is out and the pistons either push the bottom row along or leaves the top block in the sky. Confused. Followed guide to the letter maybe I'm doing something wrong?.
I just tried this on 1.21, and have the same issue. I even used obsidian to keep the blocks from shifting with no results. I might keep tweaking this until I get something to work, but who knows at this point....
Tried this in creative mode to practice for survival and it would only push one block up and the second sticky piston (top one) in the center wouldn’t stay in its original spot. Any advice?

i am having a problem the piston that make the door or takes the door away that 2ed piston just gets pushed up and it stays there it dose not come back down i am on bedrock

Pistons don't stick to other pistons? Every tutorial I have seen doesn't work. So anyone that is saying this works perfectly is lying. I have watch this tutorial 10x now, And it doesnt work for me
I tried another tutorial and it diden't work. Then I found this one it looked really dificult but it isn't really that much and it works on java perfectly! btw. you typed 4 instead of 3 by the repeater and I flipped out for some dumb reason. so just wanted to say.

Not working in Bedrock Windows with a hosted Server. the bottom piston pointing up doesn't fire 2x.

Red stone I would say. You would just have to figure a way to wire it to that one piston eight the observer on the sticky part.
