How do these writers expect the audience to accept a "happy" ending when the bich always win?

He said that he could explain “everything” including why he’s been lying and ignoring her except every time she would wait for an explanation he wouldn’t say anything. Now he supposedly really understands how awful Mi Bai has been but yet all he can say is sorry and the stupid apple analogy. He needs to show that he truly understands what he did wrong, needs to keep his promises, show up when he’s supposed to, stop being so close to other women, and needs to accept responsibility without trying to deflect blame.
