I keep coming back to listen to this! I hope they release this show! Loved Cory Wong's playing his solo. One of the few guests that actually madethe entire song performance better!
Totally agree with this. I've been back to this recording more often than I should admit. Picking up the monitor audio seems like a better mix to me than what I heard live or the Sirius stream. Thanks again OP for posting this!
Fucking awesome! Love to see just the pure joy in he has playing! That funk fit the song perfectly and made it better! And that solo! Fuck damn that solo!
Dude. Hearing those funky fingers and that sound cutting through one of my already favorite songs is awesome! Love Cory all the more. This video is fantastic. Thanks for putting it up.
@@dude4173 different strokes i guess, i think he'd be perfect. And if his four songs from MSG are any indication i thought they had him low in the mix if anything
I love everything Dave Matthews band does right or wrong. He has fun in all his shoes. That's what makes Dave Matthews different from the rest. Never change Dave Matthews band. Love you, Samantha ❤️
That might have been to turn up his in-ear monitors of himself so he could play better ... not his overall level in the mix, which he wouldn't be able to judge anyway (thats why the mixing desk is usually quite far from the stage)
My wife wanted to go to this concert and I said no we didn't need to spend the money and see Dave again right now..and then this happened and now I am miserable that I missed it.
I know there was definitely the DMB love affair of the 90's(which I wholeheartedly agree with) but even still I dont think they get talked about in terms of how GREAT a musical group they were. Technical talent, style, songwriting is OFF THE CHARTS. In my opinion one of the best bands absolutely EVER....also, kinda funny how Cory wong all the sudden turns into an autistic kid while soloing, still love it all
Thats a tough song to play rythm much less shred a solo like that. Tim reynolds gave em a nod! Wow i didnt think i was goin to like this but holy shit!!
Sick solos for sure but def sounded identical to Trey’s in LIOG at several points. Unintentional I’m sure but I guess if you were to rip someone Trey would be a great candidate.
@@richwilliams1897 not trying to crap on the guy. obvious talent but much of what comes across, and Ive seen plenty, sounds like Freak Out by Niles Rogers. love to see him mix it up a but. sorry for the armchair Mel Bay.
@@elvislives-gl4rv…not trying to crap on the guy? Did you read your own comment? You’re not alone though, you are in the stellar company of that well known critic @JlsaacMardis (see two comments above). Have fun!!
Boy oh boy do you need to look him up. Cory Wong is indeed fantastic. Check out ruclips.net/user/live0re109tkegA?si=woiWdV4S3QuHd_C6&t=3624 I'd watch a few songs through where Victor Wooten comes out to play. He's one of the premier funk guitarists playing right now.
If you need to know how wrong you are you can look at the band's reaction after billies is over and let me know what matters more: your musical opinion or that of virtuosos. Corey is one of the most impressive talents on the scene right now and his adaptation of his rhythmic strumming technique and breaking out of his comfort zone and soloing is massively impressive. Plus he's probably the only guest on billies ever to actually play the song.
@@yanks7533exactly. Carter is one of the greatest drummers to ever live and he absolutely loved the solo, so whatever this guy says really doesn’t matter.
Creeped out? They looked pumped to me. Once the song was over, Stefan threw his hands up and Carter give him some solid kudos. I won't be surprised if they invite him back to guest some more.@@tambourinedmb
For as big of a fan as Cory is of DMB this must be a literal dream come true. Definitely delivered
He posted on his IG “I have been preparing my whole life for this gig”
Pretty cool
Pmo
First time I’ve ever been jealous of a celebrity
He looks like he's having the absolute time of his life up there.
I've never heard Cory Wong solo like that. What a wonderful thing - you can see the energy in everyone on stage. Truly special.
excellent

this show was on siriusxm so the soundboard audio is out there if you know where to look

His solo - awesome. But that rhythm, so dang tasty! Loved it!
I could feel the joy emanating from Carter Beauford!!!
This is proof that Cory needs to solo more. Thank you for capturing and sharing this great video!

Whoa. This was not on my musical matchups in 2023 bingo card.
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
“Hey, Rhythm guitarist! Can you solo for 2mins straight?”
Cory Wong: “Hold my beer” 😁
Attaboy Cory you nailed it!!
this is legit amazing to see Cory shred with one of his favorite groups. Much love to Dave and Corey. Please do more together!
Epic solo!
That was an awesome performance. He breathed new life into that song. Well done.
Carter just chillin in the pocket watching Cory's solo like 🤪🤪
Just so good. Love his energy and he literally crushed it in every sense of the word. I could see him being a member if not for Tim.
i could see Tim passing the baton to him eventualy, he's a professed davehead
@@intothevacuumhope not. No offense but the band doesn’t need an even louder electric - it needs less if not, zero electric.

Cory went to the same college as I did, man it’s so cool to see the level he’s at. This is awesome 👏
McNally 🎉
hell ya
Prince would be proud.
Love this for Cory. 🎉🎉
This was just beautiful from all angles.
I can’t wait for alpine valley!!!!
nice
Both nights🤯🔥
So stinking proud of you, Cory. Bravo.
That Nile Rodgers funk in the chorus literally completes this song. Cory's right hand needs to be studied for the betterment of all mankind.
that was fuckin' great
Dang I hadn’t seen this yet and Corey can definitely shred!

I think you mean Right or Wong
We were standing right around where this was filmed. I admit I didnt know who he was either but loved the guitar and energy he brought.
awesome footage! cheers!
What?! Worlds have collided.
Watching Stefan digging Cory's excitement is just fun to watch.
Looks like you got more Cory from the Monitors above the pit than we got in the 100 level which is awesome!
Probably his amp too
Darn hippies.
Phenomenal.....Looks like he had a blast
Ripped the hell outta that solo!! Cory’s on cloud 9! 🙌
So sick. Cory is just a machine. Cool little move he did about 30 seconds before his solo he nods to the sound guy to turn him up a bit

Fucking incredible musicianship, woah!
This whole weekend was INSANE - best two nights ever
I guess i should know of him, but didn't. Regardless, guy destroys TB - wow. Thanks for the flawless video!!
Agreed, the way he ended the solo before going back into the last chorus was flawlessly done, especially for someone guesting.
Cory plays with Vulfpeck, Fearless Flyers and in his own thing,
cool. you got the wong mix!
Cory always brings the heat. Would have been hilarious if Stefan started in on Deantown.

big time solo!
When Cory is doing the frills at about 5:20 how tf is h not hitting that vol knob?
Cory Wong played by Dax Shepherd
Wow. Sounds like it was taken from the monitor feed. Was in 119 and didn't sound as crisp.
Vulf!!
Cory wongs 'rhythm ' solo on this is like nothing I've ever heard from him. talk about chameleon, being able to hang with dmb!¡!

Cory's solo was DISGUSTING. i love it so much.
17 year old me in 2003 is kicking himself for not sticking with guitar
Who’s on violin?
Buddy Strong plays it on keyboard

Temu Tim Reynolds solo
Effortless
Ladies and gentleman, I give you Peewee Herman on guitar.
ladies and gentleman a jerk off
if you see a live show of his, it's actually like that too
Not a fan… he sounds the same no matter what he’s playing. Same strumming… playing the same thing over and over. I don’t get it
He was meh, but no way close to JM! 😊😊
Both should worship Dave’s feet for even keeping music alive. Because neither one of them have.
I may be alone, but frankly find Cory Wong's playing monotonous, one-dimentional and unpleasant.
And he's as annoying as humanly possible.
Mmmmm yes, shallow *and* pedantic
He's not given alot of room here tbh. He's a really masterful musician
