Shadow of Mordor was still very egregious but in comparison to War, it's the fucking History of Middle-earth. anyways, the best LOTR game is the 00s turn based RPG where you control a group who is always one step behind the Fellowship and at the end you fight the literal Eye of Sauron.
Honestly, it really does look like a lot of care and craft and effort went into this game. Yeah, many of the design decisions were questionable, and maybe even the very premise was flawed, and the execution left something to be desired, but there was clearly a lot of talent on display in this game, especially for such a small team (15 people or less). It's a real shame that all that hard work lead to a product that is so reviled that it got them all fired.
Honestly i really enjoyed the story of this game, especially the second half in Mirkwood. I really wish they'd made this as a point 'n click adventure game instead.
Yeah they strayed from their strengths and spread themselves thin. If they'd cut the game down to like 1/3 the original length with minimal gameplay sections and more an interactive storybook with tightened up writing it probably would've been well received.

Everything about this whole situation is just so sad. I've been following Daedelic for quite some time now, since the release of Deponia 2 and was already suspicous of the studio taking on the challenge of such a big game.. The earlier works can be described in word word though, charming! Deponia and Edna & Harvey have such a beautiful design and amazing humor, especially in the german version. Absolutely recommend every one of them. The memories I have made with Deponia are so great, including the frustration of having to look up solutions to some of the puzzles. It's devestating seeing the studio end like this

Daedalic was THE german game gamedevs back then Their point & clicks were pure masterpieces and they put so much love into them (they were developed by a guy named Poki) After Poki left Deadalic, everything kinda started to go downhill (besides some of games they published from other developers) Their newer games weren't received that well and everyone was just asking for a new P&C game They said P&C games are too expensive to make and that's why they won't do it, also because Poki left, which is sad... I always dreamed back then, that one day they will get famous around the world (seriously, please play their P&C games), but them getting famous for creating the worse game in history wasn't what I wanted It's so sad seeing how they were on the top and now fell down because of ignorance and money... It's also sad that they just gave up and will stick on being a publisher only and stop developing games themselves

I'm playing through the deponia series of point and click games from daedalic, They are witty and funny with a nice artstyle and quite fun, it's a good idea to get them when they are at a discount price during a sale!

We have found many cuts, both corner cuttings and out of bounds that can save loads of seconds if not minutes. How did you think the emotes might save time?
Emotes can sometimes give your character a wonky hit box that may phase your character through walls and geometry possibly skipping sections or cutscenes
I would rather play gollum than ever play raid shadow legends. I’m convinced the only people that “play” raid are the people they pay to advertise it

I was so ready to learn the speedrun for this game coming up to its release until I saw the day one and two reviews, while I might one day pick it up one day on sale, I'm so happy to see yourself and other runners making the best of the situation.
Why would you ever pick this game up on a sale? This game isn’t even worth playing for free.
No matter my train of thought i can not imagine a good gollum game. Maybe they should have done a weird point and click adventure.
