That’s so true, it always felt a little different when we switched back to homer or Bart. More areas unlocked as you returned to those characters which kept the game very fresh as a kid.

BRUH The unfinished highway shortcut explains everything. When I played as a kid I couldn't complete the timed DMV mission, because I never used the unfinished parts of the road, I had to download the trainer to freeze the time.
Played this way too much as a kid! If I saw these skips and reset tricks years ago my mind would've went into orbit. Would love a remake and thank you for playing this gem.

42:35 I remember years and years ago watching a 100% run where you had to grind those coins for like 30 minutes straight to get money for the rest of the run. It was the only speedrun I could find on youtube too, crazy to see how many runs there are now, even the 100% category which is hours faster than the one I saw years ago. I can also confirm that at 73rd place, you still have the fastest "69 fps run" lol

Did my first run yesterday and got a 1:54:35. I've played for years and finally decided to see if I could get a good time. Didn't practice any of the strats and choked most of them, but I'm content with having a sub 2 hour run. I'll probably give it another crack, but I don't know how runners can play the same segments over and over, requires a lot of dedication.

I picked up this game for my GameCube. Kinda collecting old games from my childhood and I gotta say. Even collecting everything for the first stage of the game alone took forever. I could not imagine attempting to speed run that. Props 👏
7:57 you don't actually get more coins from your car blowing up, you actually lose your coins like sonic and have to pick them back up. I know because I tried farming for way too long as a kid before I noticed. (unless you are talking about something else?)

I wonder if the unknown substance bit in the cola kind of reminds me of the opening story of the Sarah Jane Adventures pilot story where aliens have taken on human form and slipped some alien stuff into the energy drink (while trying to bypass EU approval)? If so, where's the story part where the Buzz Cola factory is infiltrated and a certain person (who is really a disguised alien) pays off the FDA, thus setting up the tainted Buzz Cola part of the storyline. PS. I would have added a disguised alien princess, posing as a friend of the Simpsons, one of the survivors of a colony that has been destroyed by the Rigelians. To get revenge, she blends in as an older human girl, about 12-13, a bestie of the Simpsons kids and family. She is secretly revealed to witness the corruption of the Buzz Cola and takes a can or two for analysis. She somehow escapes, but she now has to blend to escape the Rigelians that destroyed her home colony, now posing as a best friend of Lisa and Bart Simpson...
I got the flying car from the mad scientist character, can't remember his name. Was so happy when I did it. That thing was so speedy and rocket car was great too!
I played this game a lot when I was young and the furthest I ever got in the game was with Marge. I'd never finished it so I'm finally able to see the ending with this video.
I would rather not have EA remaster this cause they probably introduce some sort of microtransactions and they probably make the game p2w. EA cant be trusted anymore

I cannot emphasize how well this game makes repeat zones feel so aesthetically different. Not alot of current games even come close.
