I went from a 27 to a 31 tire on the Pioneer. We ride dirt roads 85% of the time. 15% gave me back stock gearing and doesn't eat up gas like a 30% would. There are reasons for a 15, which I think you stated in certain cases. When we do hit the extreme trails, low range usually gives me all the reduction I need. Anyways happy riding!

Great size for what application? I should have said, I was more so talking about polaris RZR's than anything else.

@@Hunterworks sure isn’t the best bang for the buck gear reduction but 15% is considerably more torque without seriously slowing the unit down cause realistically even if you went with say 35% bigger tire and 35% gear reduction even though it’s equal difference your not gonna maintain same factory speed and that’s my 2 cents but I’ve not got into the rzr side of gear reductions so lack of first hand experience may be different and on these Honda fourwheelers going with a overkill gear reduction makes the bike literally suck ass to ride constantly shifting and the smaller 30-15 are MUCH MUCH more fun without making it gawd awful slow

@@NelsonCreekCustoms We do not recommend portals fore anyone but slow riders, too much heat in those small gear boxes with small amount of oil so that reduction does not matter. I have 30% on a ranger still runs 60 and runs out of power not rev limiter. Faster riders who need gear reduction should do it in the tranny.

He keeps talking about general info, man tell us what tires work with what portals .

    • @Hunterworks

That’s a very broad question. The answer would depend on what vehicle what kind of riding what percentage portals what gearing in tranny. Video is a general info video.

@Hunterworks Inc. RMAX2 on 35" tires. A little of everything. Desert, mountain trails, crawling in moab/sand hollow. If anyone made long travel for the RMAX, I would definitely go that route instead.
