This LP, cassette or CD will never play out. After 10 years I played this LP at a family reunion and everyone got a danced. Old and the young wanted know who this was singing. It’s up to Us older people that must play this type of music if you want the young folks to appreciate good music. Play it at home turn it up let their ears hear the instruments the beautiful singing.
This was my reference track for equalising sound at events.. the bass is so good and low, mid is really wide in frequence, just a joy to get the balance right on any sound system with this masterpiece, I had the honour to thank her for the wonderful music she makes at a big gala with all different stars in the television studios in the Netherlands. She is a very graceful woman what a pleasure it was working for her as floor assistant sound engineer responsible for all microphone's and headsets on stage...
Music was so wonderful. Better than any drug. Always wanted to share the joy songs like this brought. Cruising with the radio . No particular destination. Brings a tear to my eyes 25 years later. God bless
Ahhh!!! The memories.. Labor Day 1991.. Finishing off the Holiday Dressed in our best heading to Downtown Detroit to the Festival and Clubs.. This song "Blasting".. Oleta Adam's Rythm of Life was playing in my cousins car when I met My Husband of 31 Years and Father of My 5 Children (All Adults) now.. Oh, the Rythm of Life.. This song never gets old..❤😂❤...
Such quality even in 2018! what a track, what vocals... harmonies and backing, pure class!! Loving this 12 inch version with all the extra's ad libs brilliant
My godbrother & I were VERY BLESSED with the GREAT PRIVILEGE of seeing this GREAT.INTERNATIONAL PIANIST.in concert right here in our native NJ a few years ago & pray for the opportunity to see her again!! 💘 🎹
It 31.5 years ago when the world was introduced to the sultry voice and consummate artistry of this gifted chanteuse extraordinaire, thanks to Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith of Tears for Fears. When I first heard Oleta Adam's debut single, Rythm of Life, I knew straightaway the song was destined to become something special. Categorically, this now-iconic classic instantly became part of the definitive soundtrack that is my life. That beautiful intro, the stirring lyrics, the brilliant arrangements and seamless production work on this unsurpassed gem are as stellar as they were in 1990. And William Orbit's memorable 12" version heard here... EPIC. I could easily listen to it all day. 100/100👌👍👏
Did you know that the guys from Tears for Fears met Oleta Adams as she was playing laid back background piano music at a hotel in Zwolle- Netherlands..that is where the whole thing started to get together.. Proud to have met her once such a Lady !!
Next to Donna Summer, Oleta Adams is one of the greatest vocal talents in any type of music and like Donna, her talent and relevance is greatly overlooked.
Oh! Brenda Russell?? Gladys Knight??, Whitney??, Dianne Warwick??, Patti Labelle??, Patti Austin??. We have been blessed to have been born in an age where we lived with them.
@@henryluis3111 Though funnily enough this song was written by two white people (though clearly influenced by black music...) ;) Not meaning to slight Oleta, who is a wonderful singer, piano player and songwriter...
Great upload! I've had this on promo 12" since it came out. As a result it had no info on label - never ever knew William Orbit did this longer version!!! Very cool, great producer
Let me ask y'all this why is it that you never see Oleta at any of these godamm music award shows. Man i'm tellin you with a voice she has as powerful and moving it always make's my eyes water up that's how astondshing she really is with a voice from God, I don't know maybe i missed the boat on this one!
+Richard Sales Sistah is hot like that...Just wonderfully classy...I think these shows promote fakery...Ms. Adams is on the real!...God be with her and you Mr. Sales.
+Richard Sales Wow. I thought it was just me! I don't know if its her voice, the lyrics or orchestration that brings tears to my eyes whenever I listen, especially to this tune.
Well, her releases haven't sold that much since the early 90's, so I think that is the main reason we don't see her performing at awards shows. I wish the record buying public was more interested in real music versus the mass-produced stuff they actually consume, but that's life.
@@progmeup A friend and I sat in the front row center of a Catholic church benefit concert headlined by Oleta (and drummer hubby and band) herself in 2003-ish in Kansas City, MO. Right beside the piano/stage. It was incredible! Felt like she was playing and singing just for us. She sounds just like her recordings. She's a very nice, humble person who still lives in the Kansas City area with her hubby. Always have admired her. Still have an autographed photo from her "All The Love" CD promo. A friend at Star 102 FM got it for me.
@@rich-f-in-tx6388 Sounds great! Sadly I never got to see her in concert. Just read a recent interview, which I linked to here 😉 tearsforfears.boards.net/thread/210/happy-birthday-oleta-adams
This is great. Anyone know why this was not included on the 2CD reissue of the album? (They included a lot of 12" mixes, including some decent ones, but also the completely awful 1995 remixes...) Anyone know why the Twilight Version isn't even on RUclips?
I just uploaded the Twilight Version, listen here: ruclips.net/video/BfdiIgsunag/видео.html As for missing tracks on reissues, usually it's a question of either rights or master tapes lacking. But sometimes it's because the compilers don't know what they are doing...
@@PerChristianFrankplads I think it was the latter option... I've spoken to both Paul Sinclair and Steve Hammonds and neither seemed too clear about it. Still a good reissue but missed opportunity. The curious thing is that the liner notes do refer to a mix of "Circle of One" being omitted for time reasons!

Top top tune #1 for chillax 🏴💙
Orzabal’s writing and production
Supposedly the Twilight Version is the original Orzabal/Bascombe mix, whereas this (and the LP edit) was remixed by William Orbit.
