    To answer why uncoupling the infected cars wasn’t an option:
    Bullet trains aren’t a bunch of individual cars like most trains. The entire train is essentially one segmented unit. While a segment CAN be removed, it basically takes an entire garage and a crane to do it.

    One of my favorite things about this movie, is the homeless man's story arc. He's useless, and needs to be saved or puts the group in extreme danger constantly. But at the end, he makes the ultimate sacrifice to save the others. The man is as much of a giga chad as Sang-hwa in his final moments.

      Not quite… Swang-hwa slammed infected out of the way and picked one of the freaking infected up and used him as a shield! The homeless man did sacrifice himself to save the girl and pregnant woman but he basically used himself as a shield as he didn’t have the necessary strength and fighters spirit to reach Sang-hwa’s Giga Chad status! Nicknaming a baby until it's born is really common in east asian countries. A meaningful name is usually chosen like Toughie if the baby survives a traumatic event or if the mother has miscarried multiple times before. Or Sleepy if the baby is very calm and doesn't do a lot of kicking. In the past, the baby would go by this nickname for several months after birth until they were pretty sure it wasn't going to die suddenly. Only then did they name the baby. Nowadays the baby can be named in utero without such fears, but the nickname thing is still used until a name is settled on by lots of people.

    Having lived through two separate home-destroying disasters, I'm honestly rather positive on humanity's outlook in disasters. Most people cooperate and take care of each other, listen closely when other people are sharing survival tips, and are quick to adapt to utter chaos. So, to be honest, I'm not quite sure zombie outbreaks will be nearly as bad as people like to think.

    • @zacksilverstone7642
      @zacksilverstone7642 9 месяцев назад

      Because as viral as the Cor0na virus was, it wasn't very dangerous in terms of it's spread of infections, as well as it's symptoms compared to a "zombie" virus.
      People panicked, yes, and we did fell into a society slump so to speak, but to compare how we treat that with, say, a virus that causes the infected to became enraged in less that 24 hours (generally speaking, not just using the Train-to-Busan virus as an example) would be foolish.
      It took MONTHS for the world to band together and put up a "surefire" measures against the Cor0na virus disaster. And that's AFTER the virus spreads to several countries, infecting more than hundreds of thousands of peoples.
      Look, I get that it's good to have positive look on the future, but you gotta acknowledge things as it is.
      It tooks more than half a year for the GHO to come up with a solution, and the best they could do in the meanwhile is lessen the amount of casualty and infections.
      Against what is essentially a "slightly" more dangerous version of a fever.
      Against something that guarantees a 100% mortality rate disease which spreads faster than a simp posting their "appreciation" to a post from their chosen thots 5 seconds ago?
      It'll be anarchy.
      You think the peoples in zombie movies are stupid?
      Remember the Toilet Paper Shortage?
      It's gonna spread fast, and it'll end fast. Either by killing off all possible infected individuals and the those that would appear in the future afterwards, or by having our species reduced to insignificant numbers or even wiped out by it.
      We band together for the sake of convenience. The moment that part vanished, we'll turn on each other faster that the virus spreads to us.
      Again, I reiterate. It's FINE to think positive. But don't confuse it with being naive. Humans are a bunch of dumb, stupid animals. Despite our claims of being individuals, we still and always goes back to our herd mentality. And when that happens, always expect them to behave like herd animals does when confronted by dangers.

      Might be a big difference between a disaster you can comprehend, and something totally alien to us. Also culture plays a big role in such things. If you live in a community where people know each other and are used to cooperating, helping and interacting with neighbors, its gonna be totally different, than for example if you look at USA cities and such where looting is rampant whenever anything happens.

      night of the living dead got it right, i think. a small group of strangers trapped together, stranded far from any help - that group starts to break down due to stress and uncertainty and clashing personalities. but on the outside, it was a relatively simple thing for people to team up, grab their shotguns, and very quickly get the zombie threat under control through cooperative action.

      The streaks of red going up towards the heart is a huge red flag for sepsis. It's typically caused by infection that made it's way into the blood stream causing vasculitis and is going system wide. If it travels to your central vascular system then the infection can quickly lead to septic shock. Lymphangitis is an infection that can cause sepsis if left untreated. I have central venous catheter port to my heart which is high risk of infection; so I'm warned often of sepsis lol.

      It depends on the person but there are two ways it can affect someone -
      1) You get aggressive and delerious which may cause biting as a defense (which is exactly why animals with rabies bite others.)
      2) You get extremely weak to the point of paralysis.
      If you are delerious then you can do all sorts of things from walking in freezing conditions naked to dancing until you literally die. Weakness is not a good reason as to why someone cannot do something in such a state, they can and will burn all their remaining energy (to the point of death) doing a sprint if they feel like it.
      I.e one guy who suffered from such a bout of delerium he attacked a friend, ran around naked, climbed a barbed wire fence, crashed a car (and was severley injured) and then dived head first into a running plane engine. Make sense? Nope... but he did it.

    the bright side of this scenario is that it's very probable that the infected wouldn't last more than a few days, either due to blood loss from their wounds, dehydration, or the virus itself destroying critical parts of the brain. to expand on dehydration, there's not a lot of freely accessible water in most urban areas, which is where the virus really spreads, and it's likely that in the course of the infection spreading that water supply might get cut off. admittedly, the sight of a massive herd of zombies gathered around a city's one working water feature to drink does amuse me - and would also make a great place to drop a hellfire missile.

She knows she's old, weak, and slow so she made that her last act. It's also why the sister opened the door, her sister wouldn't have had to sacrifice herself had the other people let them in earlier. Not smart but understandable

    Honestly, this is one of the more realistic zombie type movies out there. In reality, most people would just ignore or not even notice someone who is showing signs of turning. And by the time they did notice, it's already too late and they're either being thin, or there is a large group of them in your proximity. And in reality, emergency service workers would Paris be the first victims in the spreaders of this outbreak. Probably firefighters and EMT would be the first. And let's face it the police are into kill, and a chest shot wouldn't take them down. Aiming for the head is always been a foolproof plan an old zombie movies, but it takes a while for people to figure that out. And in this universe like every other, zombie movies don't exist so no one knows what to do. It's a good movie, and it has rewatch value

    • @ericlamb4501
      @ericlamb4501 9 месяцев назад +12

      I feel like people not instantly knowing to go for the head is kind of necessary in movies like this, cause otherwise the movie would be about half an hour to an hour long. The military and even law enforcement are very much taught how to take down dangerous individuals, including headshots in extreme situations. Which is also kinda why this movie has to be set in Korea, firearms aren't easily available even to police and they don't really have that big a standing military compared to the US. But most importantly, if something like that were to go down there, most people wouldn't notice and by the time it's too late, their culture really isn't one of violence. Here in the US, you'd have the non-infected hunting down the infected with basically any weapon they could find, be it a gun or a baseball bat.

    • @domomitsune5920
      @domomitsune5920 9 месяцев назад +4

And thanks to her the whole entire train gets infected.

    So two things. Im a paramedic with a bachelors in psychology and neurochemistry. Gotta say I love your videos that I just discovered today. Second of all. The thing you’re looking for post trauma is usually some type of peripheral artery or vessel disease or a type of vasculitis which infects the vessels and/or blood and it reaches the heart leading to a type of acute heart disease leading to failure or leading to a possible carditis leading to an acute myocardial infarction which is incredibly rare for a disease or virus but theoretically possible if it causes a shrinkage and eventual closing of coronary vessels, or a fun type of peripheral thrombosis coming from the wound clotting traveling up the small vessels of the arm or the large vessels of the arm going to the heart leading to, you guessed it, myocardial ischemia leading to a myocardial infarction also known even more as a heart attack or possibly a pulmonary embolism which depending on where it is will cause ischemia and infraction of lung tissue and heart tissue or also possibly a cerebral stroke. It’s more likely those but also possible to be lymphadenitis and possibly causing a heart attack at the most and atleast sepsis.

    When you mentioned seeing a red line on your skin after a bite I think you were talking about Lymphangitis. I actually just had this after getting bit by some kind of bug on 4th of July, on my middle toe. It started off all itchy and swollen. I just cleaned it up out some cream on it and went on about my life like I normally would. Then 3 days later it looked infected and I noticed the lymph node in my upper thigh felt swollen and painful. The next day I got a red line from the bite traveling up my foot. Got a nice round of antibiotics and had to keep the wound clean and it eventually got better. But yea, definitely not something to mess with. I still have a left over blister from it. It’s all healed but occasionally it will randomly itch.

      Cat bites in particular have a pretty significant chance of getting infected (those needle-shaped fangs will punch bacteria pretty deep into the wound), so they should _always_ be taken seriously!

      Yup. Agree. Mom's kitten got itself covered in meatloaf grease. Gave kitten an emergency bath. Kitten freaks out. Kitten then bites Mom. I pry kitty off mom. I tell dad to take Mom to the er immediately. I ignore Dad's griping. After, they get home, I explain kitty freaked out, got a hold of the first solid thing near her. That's why she bit,Mom. Mom is fine.

    The thing with the vessel traveling up your arm is referred to as a line infection I believe? Crazy to think I'm taking antibiotics ATM (300 mg of Clindamycine, three times a day) and i dont know what it's exactly called. I also freaked out once you brought it up at the beginning of the video because I was like WOAH I HAVE THAT ATM LOL. But yes it can reach your heart and it can kill you. Be careful out there guys! (Hope you see this Roanoke love your videos man 😭)

    The one lesson I can always learn from your videos Doctor Roanoke especially when it comes to zombie outbreaks is to always remember to stay strapped or risk being clapped and then having your homie make the painful decision to Domed you but honestly I'm not going to lie if I saw a random guy getting bit I would most likely say oof too having those words be the last thing they ever hear as they succumb to the virus before I end up putting them out of their misery.😂

  • @BenLJudy

    Based on what you said near the end of the video, I could see a World War Z Movie strategy. While the virus may not create a distinct scent, there is a scent humans and other animals give off when sick, especially with a fever increasing sweating.
    Regarding the way to survive, I could definitely see myself actually surviving this one since my supply of insulin would last long enough! Type one sucks in a zombie outbreak that lasts a long time.
    While longevity is my weakness in this scenario, access to power tools and a history of home renovation and prop making would be useful in constructing makeshift shields out of cabinet handles and large boards. At LARPs, I've seen plywood shields stand up to full on body checks from 200+ lb people in 50+ lbs of costume, so with a solid construction, arming a makeshift shieldwall militia would be viable.
    Ultimately, guns aren't a rarity in the US and even in Korea, there are groups (military, some law enforcement) who can get strapped, so I could definitely see within a day engineers create walled compounds and people shoot over the walls. This is an infection, not true zed, so they aren't more durable than baseline and can be taken out by a few rounds to the chest.
    Once the initial infection is over, however, due to the zoonotic nature of this pathogen, I would definitely be concerned about infected animals. Even if someone dies from dehydration, they might infect their dog at the end or something and the dog might infect wildlife, so on and so forth. Walled compounds would definitely be a housing trend from there and animal control stocks would be to the moon, not that the movie's hedgie could take advantage.
    Ultimately, this infection seems very dangerous in its initial shock due to sprinters, but by day two things would be dying down fairly quick. I could easily see humanity surviving this.
    I am a bit confused on the impact of respiratory infection from the hanta virus though. You mention it can be spread through droplets, so a respirator is 100% necessary.
    Let me know if you see any gaps in my notes. I'd love to further discuss.

    I do believe you were describing Sepsis, or blood poisoning. Basically a rare infection of the blood vessels by bacteria that yes, is fatal if it reaches the heart. Happens when you cut yourself just deep enough you wont bleed out but the blade was not clean and had bacteria on it that got past the immune system. Can also happen if you say go to the doctor to give blood and the needle wasnt clean or was improperly handled.

    • @jeaton1224
      @jeaton1224 9 месяцев назад

      Can also happen when cells go through necrosis and enter the bloodstream. It’ll give you that iky black color (can be red/purplish too), which clog the heart and kill you. Thanks Boy Scouts!
