I also play in that way, my personal reason is that I trained for legato control and in that shape you can hammer and pull with more control by anchoring only the index finger, and because minor scales can be played comfortably with a fret separation between the index finger and the middle finger, you end up adapting chords and arpeggios to that shape as well.
Actually, it’s not uncomfortable, after years, your fingers will naturally stretch in that position, becomes also easier to stretch the little finger, covering 6 frets, and yes, you can play controlled hammers-ons and pull-offs with that range. Just try for a week, especially with scales
Whatever her hand position might be....she gets the job done brilliantly.So let it be.
Not weird she just plays it in a way that’s comfortable for her. She’s always done it all of her covers playing using her left hand on the fretboard. That’s how she’s always done it so it’s unique it’s different but in the end it gets the job done. Thank you for filling my request as I think I asked you for this not too long back, she also does there’s a Megadeth songs she does but it is I think it’s tornado of souls by Megadeth tomato sauce and also iron maiden the trooper. I don’t think there’s anything this gal cannot do it anyway thank you. This is a good song the solo was kick ass, and she was spot on as always.

It might look weird because she has a finger on each of the two lower notes of the power chord, rather than barring them with the ring finger like most players do.
