I just love that this album talks about a variety of themes that aren't usually talked about in pop music: friendship, consumerism, micro-agressions, depression, self-love, cultural displacement, family, hereditary pain and etc. There's not a single track about an ex-boyfriend and I think that's amazing.

It´s so interesting that you mentioned Gaga in "Who´s gonna save U now?", A Star is Born actually inspired Rina to make that "stadium" like song, and Rina is a HUGE Gaga fan, both queens ♡
When Rina talked about making this record, she spoke about working with one producer to create a cohesive record that plays from beginning to end. And her samples are amazing, for Tokyo Love Hotel, she sampled the sounds of the hotel she was in and worked it into the production.
Yes I've been waiting for this one. What I really like is how different all the songs are genre wise and the lyrics go with the sounds. Like dynasty is about breaking generational trauma so it sounds really big , XS is a song about capitalism and a satire of those pop songs about spending so it's 2000s pop with rock elements. Etc.
I love the reactions to the "drop" of bad friend, the emptiness really goes with the message on that first chorus and it's kind of an element of surprise, she does that through the album but in this song is very noticeable

Her lyrics and visuals are amazing as well. One of the best albums I've heard this year (it came out in 2019). Critically acclaimed! You'd definitely love it💙💙💙💙💙

Wow, her samples are unorthodox...You wouldn't expect certain genres to go together but she really is able to get it done quite well!
In the same song, in the 'pre-pre-pretend despa-a-air' section, she uses the classic Final Fantasy VII victory fanfare choir progression.

On the track 'Bad Friend' I'm pretty sure the "I'm so good at crashing in..." part was made with a vocoder rather than a backup male voice. @@kojikali3381 she's really, really experimental but the album has R&B-ish vibes, some electro pop, art pop. She even uses her voice as an instrument sometimes. Her lyrics and visuals are amazing as well. One of the best albums I've heard this year (it came out in 2019). Critically acclaimed! You'd definitely love it💙💙💙💙💙
