    Thanks for the video! I had already adjusted the cables and was part--way through tearing into the chute gear mechanism and decided to take another look at youtube before going any further. Your video is exactly what I needed.

    Looking at buying the manual chute version, and then installing the remote chute control lever. Where did you buy that from? I like the way you do you it b/c if the remote chute control breaks the chute still has the lever to manually rotate. the model that comes with the chute control does not have the handle

      I purchased it from my local Ariens dealer where I bought the Path-Pro, the part number is: 7380080, I paid $122.85 plus tax, this was 5 years ago, worked like a charm, unfortunately, I don't have the blower anymore, sold it to my friend a year ago. Good luck with yours, they are great machines!

      @@zmanvideo1 Thanks for the reply! From talking to my local dealer, we decided the best route is to actually buy the one with the remote chute. You can buy the handle from ariens for $15 and it bolts right on. We decided on Ariens b/c Toro 721 quality has nosedived, and Honda single stage blowers are increasingly difficult to find due to supply issues.

      @@jgg204 wow, right when you need it most, kind of sucks, maybe call them every few weeks to check inventory, or even try putting a deposit down, maybe that will make things go faster, wishing you luck to get your Ariens sooner than later.

    Just picked up one of these for a reason. I currently have a 33 in 13 hp hydro Craftsman with all the bells and whistles of 2005 vintage.This thing is a beast I have a 100 foot by 10 foot driveway between two houses guess where I have to throw the snow. On top of the snow and ah this beast gets it done but the problem half an inch of hard packed snow left behind.No problem up north but in Hamilton Ontario one day -15c yea 5f the next day 4c yea 39f and that night - 15 again my driveway is an ice rink. getting older and wiser now these little beasts thrive on cleaning down to the pavement.Will go over the driveway after cleaning with the big machine and being closer to the asphalt less ice. Into 2020 this season has been slush with snow on top have not even used the big boy this season.Man this thing will throw slush.The point is I kinda know what a good machine is and this thing is the SHIT. Just saying.

      Glad you like your Ariens. I agree, this single stage packs a real punch! I have a Toro Snowmaster which I am still to use. Thank you for watching.

    I have a 1996 33 inch 13 hp hydrostatic Craftsman snowblower had since new this thing will go through packed snow like 50 feet long between 2 houses 2 foot high thats my dilemma thats why I need a machine this big.Then the last 5 years 5 in slush crap the beast would clog rendered useless. Yeah could butcher the impeller installing rubber paddles NOT. Would eat auger bearings due to imbalance not going there.Then thought a single stage thats the ticket. Good for light snowfalls and slush and the best thing fast.While its 2021 February 12 8:51 pm just cleared my driveway had lake effect snow all day in Hamilton Ontario took me 20 min 6 in of snow would have taken 1 hour with the beast. Yeah bought a Ariens Path Pro a little beast dont get me wrong a machine will only perform in its intended purpose but this thing today impressed.

      Glad you like your Ariens Path Pro. I whole heartadly agree with you on needing a heavier machine, I actually purchased the Toro Snowmaster 8QXE, its the 8 horse self propelled single stage model, I have yet to try it out. Like you, I like how fast the Ariens is, however, its not really a true self propel in that it is hard to push in 10 inches plus snow.

  • @algorel4763

    The spark plug is very accessible to change. I just watched how difficult it is to change a plug on the Toro single stage. Remove the chute and large cover. Glad I bought the Ariens!

    • @zmanvideo1

      even taking off the plastic blower housing is not difficult on the PathPro, I had to take it off to install the remote chute option, glad you like your Ariens!

      zmanvideo1 I would like to add the remote cute control. Was it easy to install?

    • @zmanvideo1
      @zmanvideo1  5 лет назад +1

      yes, installation was quite straight-forward, I just had to spend a few tries repositioning the cable that go into the unit to ensure they were not binding, I would recommend that you call Ariens and they can e-mail you the directions, that way you can read up on it and get familiarized before doing the actual install.

  • @algorel4763
    @algorel4763 6 лет назад +1

    I watched your operation at the end of video. Don’t baby the machine. Push harder and steady. The more consistent force, the better the machine will perform. You won’t hurt it!
    It will throw farther. Leave the chute open wide, not need to constantly adjusting it. My two cents. Hope it helps.

      thanks for the tips, I come from using a mid-size dual stage snowblower which had the self propel drive via the wheels, I have to adjust my use to the self propel drive of the Ariens single stage as it is an almost full self propel but certainly feels different to what I am used too

    • @algorel4763
      @algorel4763 5 лет назад

      I know exactly what you mean. I too have a two stage Ariens, and the operation takes a little to get use too. I much rather use my Path Pro, much easier & faster. I have already maxed it out with snow fall, no problem.

    Are you sure the scrapper bar is adjustable?

    • @zmanvideo1
      @zmanvideo1  6 лет назад

      yes it is adjustable, the video shows the way I received it from the dealer, I don't mind having it adjusted so there is more contact with the auger on the pavement as it helps in propelling the unit forward with minimal effort.Thank you for watching.

  • @fithydumaz

    I bought one about two months ago....when I used it for the first time, snow shot out the back end and all over my pants and boots.....I tried to adjust the scaper bar, it appears to work a little bit better....does the scraper bar suppose to be touching the ground and do I adjust the auger blades some how or do I leave them alone and just worry about the scraper bar...its a new unit

    • @zmanvideo1
      @zmanvideo1  5 лет назад

      the auger blades are not adjustable, the scraper bar is the only adjustable component, I would recommend you adjust it so it just barely touches the ground (on level ground), other than that, you may have to wait a little until the auger paddles wear down a bit. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

    Oh yeah a fuel valve is there for a purpose done blowing shut it off use that fuel up in the carb let the engine stall. Snows again turn the valve on and repeat 30 years doing this never touched a carb on my machine.

    • @zmanvideo1
      @zmanvideo1  3 года назад

      Good point, I have never touched a carb on any of my small engines, the oldest I have is a Stihl blower purchased in 1998, still starts on 2 pulls, runs like a champ! Don't build them like they used too!!

    I’ve owned mine for about 4 years. Frankly, less than impressed. It does a weird chugging (acceleration/deceleration) cycle.

    • @zmanvideo1

      yes, I would guess carburator, perhaps try draining the gas tank and carb float bowl and fill with fresh premium ethanol free gas.

  • @fithydumaz
    @fithydumaz 6 лет назад

    I just used it for the first time......im not to impressed....sure, it did blow some snow.....but all the slushy snow or wet snow shot through the bottom of the snowblower in the rear side …..so, from the knees down , you are completely drenched with the wet snow.....I rather use my shovel and save 550 dollars

    • @zmanvideo1
      @zmanvideo1  6 лет назад

      sorry to hear about your negative experience with this snowthrower, did you try adjusting the scraper bar? I have mine adjusted as it came from the manufacturer and if you look in the video the snow blows back onto my feet, however, in my case I don't mind it that much, I would rather have it propel faster than me having to help move the machine along.

    • @fithydumaz
      @fithydumaz 6 лет назад

      I did figure out how to adjust the scrape bar, I have it slightly touching the ground, it seems that its not shooting the slushy snow at my feet as much as it did before...im not sure if its worth the money though, I will give it one more try with the next storm. Do you know how long the rubber blades last for and how long the scraper blade last for?? Can I get a few seasons before I have to replace them??

    • @algorel4763

      steve maulkey three to four years for the paddles. Remove paddles, drill new holes, reinstall paddles. The paddles are $40.00 for a set.

    Whats up with the steel fuel tank the commercial equivalent has a plastic tank and so does every one else. Dont get the logic steel tank more expensive to manufacture and can rust with ignorance. Plastic more forgiven and cheaper to make. Not an issue to me hell have 40 year steel tank small engines as clean as built when new. But for the ignorant a death sentence for the carb. Just saying.

    • @zmanvideo1
      @zmanvideo1  5 лет назад

      yes, I agree with you, I prefer a plastic fuel tank, I am not sure why they put a metal tank on this snowblower. Thank you for watching.

    OMG this snowblower is the worst. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I have owned it for 4 years now and I think I used it about twice if that, for the reason that I cannot start it. I do all the correct procedure and nothing, it just won't start. What about the cord, doesn't that work? No, the plug part was so poorly designed that the box that it is contained in is too close to the edge of the plug that the plug won't insert. Horrible machine and no service from Ariens or the company that I bought it from.

    • @zmanvideo1
      @zmanvideo1  5 лет назад

      sorry to hear about your bad experience, I would perhaps recommend to drain the fuel tank and carb bowl, and fill with fresh ethanol free premium fuel. My unit is always hard to start when I first start it in the season (fuel tank and carb bowl drained). I also find that I have to use the electric start on cold days because it just won't start with the pull cord. I did just clear about 15cm of heavy wet snow and it just plowed through it like no tomorrow.

    • @johnburnham594
      @johnburnham594 Год назад

      I had same problem. I still had starting problems after draining carb bowl. I changed spark plug with some difficulty but now it starts easier. I also used starting fluid.
