I've had this cover (x4s model) for roughly 3 years now. I've used 303 Aerospace conditioner regularly, and it looks brand new. I think it'll probably extend the lifetime of the cover.

I had this same cover installed 3 weeks ago. I really like it and it's is good looking as well. My only concern is the small decorative plastic covers where the tonneau meets the tailgate (one on each side) are barely held on by a small compression snap. One side pops off every single time I roll the cover forward and I have to remember to get it off the ground. That part needs to be redesigned. I may be able to modify that myself but I shouldn't have to for that price. Other than that it's a nice cover.

I still haven't gotten around to installing a cover on my 2018 GMC Sierra. I got the original manual sliding retrax on my 2006 GMC Sierra when I bought the truck new. I sold the truck to my uncle and to this day it still works fine. Truck has always sat outdoors. The only thing that happened is that I had to rivet the end of the cover back on to the latching mechanism which was a simple fix.

BAK makes some great products! I had their covers on my F-150s. I went cheap on the RAM, though, because the vinyl always started delaminating after a year or two on the BAK ones. Does that still happen, or did they fix that problem?
Also, about the sweating through the hats... soak 'em in Oxy Clean for a couple of days, and repeat if necessary. Hang to dry. I've fixed so many hats that way.

I am buying this cover and having it installed next week. I liked your video as you explained about tonneau covers and how none are truly waterproof. When I went to pick out my tonneau cover, and decided upon this one, the top material was more like a tough nylon-weave fabric, not smooth vinyl. You don't really talk about the top material. Can you confirm what the top material is? Thanks, and keep on making videos. Very informative! Subscribed.

I honestly appreciate this cover “concept” over others I’ve looked into…HOWEVER (and I’m glad you addressed the quality concerns and the warranty sending out replacements) I’m not a big fan of the adhesive/fabric cover because it’s a weakness that has the potential to fail especially under harsher and/or long term conditions. The 5yr warranty is honorable but when you consider they have you destroy it to get a replacement - that just seems too wasteful to me. When I saw the title of this video about a new version of the cover, I thought “cool, they’re doing something about those complaints”. But it just seems more for the roof tents. Tri-folds have their issues to but i dunno, maybe they’ll last longer??

Great review! Your early video on the XS was the reason I got the cover for my Maverick. The only downside I’ve seen on my cover is the cleats by the front of the cover. May have faded from a nice to a shabby gray. I’m going to try and use something, maybe paint or trim dressing, to restore them. As you stated in your video the AZ sun fries everything here!

@@Delzona appreciate it. I find this 303 UV protectant to be awesome. It keeps the cover and all of the plastics looking nice and new. I now use it to clean up the plastic bed rails and bumper pieces too. www.amazon.com/dp/B000XBCURW/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_VYFX4DZHW96BHWV4T533?linkCode=ml2&tag=fbchex-20

I really like this style of bedcover, but had a disappointing experience with my Truxedo Titanium roll up cover. My truck is only driven approx 5000 miles/year (towing duty only) and stays parked inside my shop when not driven. The first cover delaminated within the 1st year, which Truxedo warrantied. The problem was the warranty replacement delaminated as well in less than 5 years. I could see this if the truck sat outside in the hot sun and was constantly used; however that is not the case with my truck. I'll probably look at a different style of cover for my next truck.

Just a word of caution for any person considering purchasing this rack for a 2024+ Ranger. On the Ranger 6g forum I have seen issues with Fit. I myself had a fit issue. BAK was very good with customer response and has advised that my rails were built improperly and new rails will be sent within a week. I am a bit concerned that they closed the Customer Service file and ask for my feedback BEFORE the rails have even shipped. I mean, talk is nice but I really want to be able to assess their customer service based on how quickly they got those rails out the door on their side. Also, if you are buying for the rails, consider what you might want to use those rails for. Not everything fits, for example, if you want a rack for kayaks and longer items, pretty much the Elevate is the only natural fit. Things like Ibex, Thule, Yakima either won’t or will require some DIY innovation.

Just tried installing the x4s. All was going well until I noticed only 1 side was actually in the track. After working on it a bit I realized my bed is about 1 1/2” wider near the cab than at the tailgate. Did you notice that with yours? Guessing I’m going to need some shims.

kinda a random question but what do you do with your old covers? Im sure selling is the most likely answer but ive had mine for five years or so now and it still functions pretty well but I dont think anyone would want that old of a cover...idk. I am looking to change things up. Throwing it away just seems egregious, ya know.

I didn’t see how well this worked with an electric tailgate opener. I’ve read that some covers fit too tightly and prevent the gate opening. Otherwise good review

I'm trying to determine if the T-slot rail overlaps with the stake pockets on the Sierra 2500HD? Any clue? I have stake pocket covers but they sit slightly above the surface of the plastic rail cap. Videos of the x4s (without T) show it does not overlap, but I can't find out if it does overlap for the x4ts because of the slot rail??? Your 1500 here it does overlap. You mentioned stake pocket covers but it looks to me like they would interfere with the T-rail.
