First there was a loud blast that sounded like someone was shooting a shootgun right in front of the window of the room I was staying in at my grandparents house. Then there was basically one big "wave" that literally shook the earth and actually lifted up everthing in the room including the bed I was lounging in followed by four- five smaller waves. It lasted no longer than 10- 15 seconds, but it scared the living hell out of me at the same time I was facinated by the enormous amount of force and power unleashed. And a 4,2 is only a small to medium magnitude quake. k bye
Biggest I was in was a 6.0 years back when I lived in the Bay Area, it was in Napa when it had happened, funny I feel many forgot about that one but I was in my living room and the whole wall jolted so viciously, then I think there was a aftershock that hit one night when I got home and right as I closed my eyes the whole house shook 😂
This kid handled it so much better than I did. Our cats were scrambling before anything even started. When it did, I stood there wondering wtf was happening / ran in to the bedroom and yelled to my poor sleeping husband "WHAT'S GOING ON?!!" (as if even unconscious he somehow knew) / ran to the basement to see if the house indeed was collapsing / called the non-emergency police line. Had I known it was an earthquake while it was happening, I would've savored the experience.
I was asleep and woke up to it thinking it was a dream and then my sister texted me asking if I felt it and all I could say was “I KNEW IT WASNT A DREAM”
