I had been wanting to get a reduction for over 3 years with Dr. Jean Paul Giudicelli (Dr. G) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I had struggled with years of back pain and being uncomfortable in my own skin. About 2 years ago I had put down my deposit and planned to go when I was hit by a car a few months later. It seemed like it would never happen.
However, when my family moved to Cabrera, Dominican Republic I became very hopeful (especially since my deposit had not expired).
Dominican Republic (and Colombia) is known worldwide for having some of the top medical facilities and surgeons that specialize in cosmetic and plastic surgery. People come from the United States, Canada, Russia, and many more countries for what is known as "medical tourism." This can include dental procedures, cosmetic surgery, and plastic surgery. More recently there have been many people coming to get the popular bbl (Brazilian butt lift). Although, I am not getting a bbl I thought it was important to mention.
People question sometimes is it safe to get plastic surgery or cosmetic abroad? My answer is YES and NO. Make sure you do you research, have a consultation, and meet with a board certified plastic surgeon just like you would in your home country! Treat medical tourism like you would a medical procedure in your home country.

We are a expats and a typical black American family living and teaching abroad in Cabrera, Dominican Republic. We were born and raised in California but spent most of our adult life in Atlanta, GA where we met at Spelman and Morehouse College.
About a year ago we left our jobs teaching in the United States for a life abroad in Honduras before relocating to Domincan Republic. Our channel has 2 goals:

ABOUT CABRERA DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Cabrera, Dominican Republic is the equivalent of a small town. It is located on the North Coast of the country east of Cabarete, Sosua, and West of Las Terrenas and Samana. The town is surrounded by beautiful beaches, views, and very friendly people. We have met many dominicans, haitains, canadianas, and a few americans of all socio-economic status living throughout Cabrera.
