Bought my 19 Sport Glide new 30k miles now. Still love the bike. Dig the dual abilities. Smooth ride it’s a great solo tour, commuter, or bar hopper. Thanks to the quick release fairing, bags, added rack & sissy bar. Great for MoCo luggage bag mounting also. All being quick release makes it easy to clean. The upside down forks with the new for 18 stiffer frame & mono shock make for the best handling Harley ever but they could still benefit from anti dive. Love the keyless, ABS, cruise control, USB port, no tools spring load adjustment when adding a passenger. It’s loaded & top of the softail line. They do have issues with fitting a functional windshield that doesn’t buffet air. The Gustafson vented windshield with lowers is the only one that works well. Other than maybe an aftermarket fairing. It’s was also easy to drag a boot heel in the twistes but a longer factory shock, aftermarket shock, or spacers all work well to easily raise the back of the bike 1.75” for better available lean angle. Unique bike.
All the windshields need a turned up screen at the tip. I had a smaller cowl years ago, a wind tunnel tested cowl with the kick up at end. Worked great to throw the wind just at the top of helmet. Sometimes i would see the odd grasshopper pushed over my head in the wind by this screen just as i thought i would cop it in the face. Harley and many others seem to miss this fundamental technique that has been about for decades. Also reduces mass in fairing size. A far better job.
I traded my 2017 Heritage Softail in on a 2021 Sportglide. I have put in a stage 2 torque kit just to liven things up. So far the main area I have been trying to improve is the fairing. The standard one is crap.I have settled on a Memphis Shades batwing. It works. I am sure that if Harley Davidson put some time into developinga decent fairing this bike would sell much better. I love the versatility, sporty and comfortable. The panniers are very convenient and never come off my bike. I spoke to a Harley dealer and she said that Sport Glides tend to be bought by people who actually ride them. I do alot of trips on mine and it is a very comfortable bike.
Picked up my 2021 Sport Glide 2 months ago...already put 3000+miles on it. At 2200 miles I got it Stage One'd and put on a Rinehart slipon. Absolutely loving it and ride it as much as time allows me. Of all the Harley's I was thinking of getting, the versatility & price of the Sport Glide grabbed my attention and it handles like a dream..and I don't hang about when out riding either. Love it to bits.. Stage 2 next year methinks....going to test ride my local dealers Stage 2 Sport Glide next week hopefully (Has torque cam in it)
This video came at a perfect time for me ready to pull the trigger on my first Harley I like the sportglide as most of my riding is similar to your mainly around town with some overnight rides, I also like the RKS and was interested with what your said about the road king special do you sometimes regret not paying the extra dollars and buying a touring model or a bagger at 59 years old I want to make my first Harley my last and yes I am probably over thinking it.
Why buy an RKS when you have to upgrade the suspension because it's not as good as it should be? Judging by all the suspension upgrade videos out there. Buy the SG mate you won't regret it. A very versatile motorcycle ticking every box
If I didn't get a Low Rider S, I would've gone for a Sport Glide. And speaking of Sport Glides, it looks absolutely dope when you rock it without the fairing and apes, plus the saddleman seat is a real nice touch. Hands down how you've modified it makes it looks really sweet.
I’m taking mine into the dealer and have them check it. My problem is I can’t turn that setting to save my life!😎 Ps: Love my SG Stage 2 torque cam, Rinehart slip-on, Dyno 94 Hp 114 torque, stock head
I've been on hols and just catching up on vids... Agreed with most of your banter there... most of all I was shocked to hear about your rear shock (no pun intended). Let us all know how you get on with the dealership on that because that's just ridiculous that your shock isn't working. I also watched the next video with the test ride so I know how the test went. Also interesting re: your screen test ride too. Personally I wonder how the HD screen that's the same height without the cut outs would go.
Yes I'm making some enquiries now about my rear shock. It hasn't worked properly since day one. I'm hoping to get my hands on a HD screen to compare the 2 and see of the slits make any difference. So far that height of screen is a winner
Yes my speedo has fogged up many times. I mentioned this in a previous video but forgot all about it. There is a fix which I'll have a go at if it happens again
The sports glide is such a good look bike but its now a hard decision with the low rider st just out…..buying in the next couple of months and its going to be a hard decision
@@RidesForDays …..its the 117 motor that’s drawing me towards the Low rider st….still prefer the look of the sports glide I think with it more traditional HD look
Yeah I'm not big on the club style look...but the 117 is appealing...I have a torque cam in my SG though so happy enough with the power. I have more than I need
@@overwatch65 they didn't have a brand name just ( lower fork deflectors). make sure they come with the fork bracket not ust the plastic deflectors. They were just over$100au form memory . Martin

You'll love it with the torque cam.in it. It wakes the motor up and low down it really pulls. Stay upright and enjoy your new ride

Thanks mate 🙏
I agree what you said about the rear shock adjuster, turn it any which way and nothing changes ! I have a 2021 Sport Glide
I had my rear shock replaced. It still works well but the adjuster has siezed again
I would love to upgrade to an Olin's shock

I know they were from ebay, but any other info on how to find those lowers? All the ones that show up for me are for tourers...
Good video. What brand floorboards did you install?
Fat boy floorboards mate
@@RidesForDays Thanks, getting mine next month.
They make a big difference especially if you want to throw down some ks
Those fork wind deflectors have been shown to dramatically increase engine temps, like 50 degrees F. Not good for the engine.
Yes I'm not a fan personally
