Are you folks really unaware that Yeshua (Jesus) was not born according to BC/AD. The year of His birth was miscalculated. So AD is not really "anno domini" (year of our Lord) -- it's a mistake. So I, as a dedicated follower of Yeshua, don't like AD/BC. "Common Era" is accurate and makes more sense. It has nothing to do with whether or not you believe Yeshua was the Messiah.

The archeological records, finds and sites that corroborate Scripture are countless. Years ago they discovered writings on pillars in Northern Sudan, which would have been a part of ancient Egypt, that talked about the tribe of Yahweh, being there in captivity, at exact the same time as Scripture says the people were there in the book of Exodus. Yet according to many unbelievers, no such records exist. 😂 No matter what, you're going to just deny, deny and deny some more.

Red, blue, and purple dyes from non-kosher animals seems odd today but apparently did not bother the ancients, why?
Perhaps it is related to the oddity that every Jewish household in Eastern Europe cherished the candlesticks used for the Shabbat candles and the holy ritual yet the Shabbat candles did not not have to be kosher and usually were not. (I was surprised when a knowledgeable person told me this. I googled it but could get no confirmation.)

      Proof of the Exodus.

    • @jeffreybrannen9465
      @jeffreybrannen9465 Месяц назад +3

@@blusheep2 Nah, they’d say that it was made by the P Source after the Exile and only attributed it to the mythical character of Moses who obviously never existed because it would have benefited the priests to create an artifact that matched a mythical object that never existed. You see, the scholars would say, it’s like finding Excalibur. King Arthur, who probably never existed, was never given a real sword, so THIS sword, even though it has the ancient runes and is buried in the stone, couldn’t possibly have been his. 🙄
Even if on the bottom Moses had scrawled, “I, Moses, commissioned by YHWH, at the foot of Mt. Sinai built this”, they’d still say it wasn’t his. So they’d load it on an ox cart, carry it to Jerusalem, an ox would stumble, somebody would reach out to stabilize the ark, due on the spot.
“Oh, we believe he had a stroke or an aneurysm. It’s a complete mystery.”

    • @blusheep2
      @blusheep2 Месяц назад

@@jeffreybrannen9465 That is why I said "proof" of the Exodus. Lets say you found an Egyptian Day Scroll reporting the 600 chariots that Rameses II lost in his failed pursuit of the Hebrews. They wouldn't be able to say that it was the "P" source any longer.
Of course there will always be naysayers like all these people that say that Jesus never existed, but the question here isn't what would change the minds of all secular scholars but what would be the most important discovery after discovering the Ark of the covenant. If not something that proved the Exodus, the only other thing would be Noah's ark.

This was all very interesting. WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW is why they have not done (as far as I know) a major 20 foot wide cut from the SE corner of the modern day Temple Mount, directly S E down towards the bottom of the Kidron Valley to discover the original terrain floor at the time of King David. I believe that 3 things can be accomplished by doing this. 1) Finding the original TM South East corner wall foundation. Because, according to Josephus, the East wall of the TM went down 600 feet deep to the bottom of the Kidron Valley (450feet was showing in Josephus' time) This would also mean that the current Western wall is 300 feet too far to the West and that the space between it and the true Western Wall is the lower Plaza Josephus describes from where a seige ramp was built to go up to the TM. 2) You would see how the original terrain looked like in King David's time and why the Jebusite fortress was so intimidating. 3) Currently , the terrain forms a perfectly straight line from the debris over the years. All that debris may yield finds equalling the sifting projects finds. Shoring up the walls can be done with a winding metal stair case for tourists to eventually appreciate the uncovered pre Davidic terrain which caused Abraham to hike up instead of taking the mule with Isaac. The historical time line would be worth all the work and a building could be placed over the interior staircase like a giant glass atrium. Finding the true corner of the TM would be huge!. It has always been my contention that the Zechariah "tomb" points to the Holy of Holies (designed for that purpose!)!

The answers is one word: Islam. If we were allowed to do archaeological research in or around the Temple Mount, evidence absolutely would be found that would delegitimize the Muslims claim on the land, which could cause them to lose their hold over the Temple Mount. They aren’t going to let that happen as long as they have the authority/ability to prevent it.

As the bible has been redacted it's hard to know ,so many books left out just because it didn't quite suit the narrative at the time .Vatican for control and power over people and a lot of people don't even realise that it has been redacted. I don't think anyone should have been allowed to say God did not do this or that one. Just because some of the books left out so a bit over the top. Surely it is for the individual to make up their own mind .in the sumerian writings it does tell of a flood same as noah but years apart ,it mentions elohim quite a few times, and there's so much more . Please allow me to share the English Translation of the Holy Quran, Chapter 19 (Mary) Verses 16-40
    16. And mention in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east.
    17. And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel [i.e., Gabriel], and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man.
    18. She said, "Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allah."
    19. He said, "I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy [i.e., son]."
    20. She said, "How can I have a boy while no man has touched me nor am I unchaste?"
    21. He said, “Thus said your Lord, ‘It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign for humanity and a mercy from Us, and it has been a matter already decreed.’”
    22. So she conceived him and withdrew with him to a remote place.
    23. And the pangs of childbirth drove her unto the trunk of the palm-tree. She said: “I wish I had died before this and had been all forgotten."
    24. But he called her from beneath her, "Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a stream.
    25. And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates.
    26. So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, 'I have vowed to the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to anyone.'"
    27. Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have committed something grave indeed.
    28. O sister of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste."
    29. So she pointed to him. They said, “How can we talk to someone who is an infant in the cradle?”
    30. He [Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.
    31. And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and almsgiving as long as I remain alive
    32. And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant.
    33. And peace be upon me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive."
    34. This is Jesus, the son of Mary - the word of truth about which they are skeptical.
    35. Never was it for Allah to have any offspring-Highly Exalted is He; whenever He decrees a matter, He only says to it, “Be,” and it is.
    36. "And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path."
    37. But the parties differed among themselves, so woe to those who have denied from the scene of a tremendous Day.
    38. How well they shall hear and see on the day they come to Us! But the unjust are today in evident misguidance.
    39. And warn them, of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be concluded; and [yet], they are in [a state of] heedlessness, and they do not believe.
    40. Indeed, it is We who will inherit the earth and whoever is on it, and to Us they will be returned.

Thank you for taking the time to read and reflect.
Indeed, Prophet Muhammad pbuh was asked about this: Al -Mughira bin Shuba narrated: When I came to Najran, they asked me: You read {O sister of Harun} [Maryam: 28], and Moses lived long time before Jesus. When I returned to Prophet Muhammad I asked him about this and he replied: They were named after their prophets and the righteous before them. (Sahih Muslim - Hadith No. 2135).
So, the Quran is speaking about Jesus pbuh, the prophet sent by God, who was born miraculously without father through the Virgin Mary, and who performed miracles by the will of God.
Acts 2:22: "You who are Israelites, hear these words. Jesus the Nazorean was a man commended to you by God with mighty deeds, wonders, and signs, which God worked through him in your midst, as you yourselves know."

Thank you for the stimulating discussion. I find the explanation quite plausible, keeping in mind that there were actually Jewish and Christian populations in the Arabian Peninsula at the time of Prophet Muhammad pbuh, and the time gap between Jesus pbuh and Moses pbuh was a known fact, so, being a mistake is not likely.
On another note, I have indeed read many passages of the Bible. Our religions do have many things in common, possibly indicating the uniqueness of the source of our (original) scriptures. We share the honoring of Jesus pbuh and of his mother, as well as all respected Prophets sent before him. However, we differ on the fundamental of belief in God, which is the most important. The first commandment was placed at first place for a reason. We can’t both be right on this.
There is compelling biblical and historic evidence that describes how Christianity deviated from a monotheistic religion at the time of Jesus pbuh and the Christians of the first century, which were in fact Jews, to what we have today. This happened over time during the first two centuries and was enforced later by pagan Roman emperors entering Christianity. This is the conclusion of mainstream biblical scholars, theologists and university professors (mostly Christian) at the leading international universities of Europe and North America based on two centuries of biblical and historic research. Therefore, I sincerely advise you and all Christian brothers and sisters to do some research on what you believe in. You owe it to yourself to do this research while you still can. It is one short life, but which determines everything thereafter.
If you want to do some research, please allow me to recommend these short videos by British theologist Paul Williams. Please forgive me for sharing videos, otherwise my reply would be too long. However, you will find the videos engaging, to the point, and backed by evidence from the bible.
