Pioneertown Mountains Preserve sits strategically between the high mountains and desert. It’s a unique and varied landscape, and the Indian Loop Trail takes you on a tour of everything it has to offer. You’ll climb to the 5,541-foot Chaparrosa Peak, wind through the foothills with views to the high peaks of the San Gorgonio Wilderness, and then descend through Pipes Canyon, along a critical watershed bringing life to the desert.

Thank you for an excellent overview. This is a hike to plan in March or April before it starts getting warm.

Someone recommended this hike to me about a week ago, so your guide showed up at exactly the right time. Thanks so much, I really enjoy your videos and find them so informative.

Did this one today. It did not disappoint. We were so glad to do it in the direction you posted in this video as morning was cloudy. The views were great. There was water in the stream as well which was a pleasant surprise going down through the wash. Thanks!

Very cool. Do they allow you to use a propane bbq there if you wanted to make a lunch after the hike?

    New camera or new settings?
    Either way, looks great.

Ah thanks so much, that's good to hear. I've been messing around with cameras, settings, stabilization, color grading, etc. to try and make the videos look as good as possible. It's been hours and hours of experimentation and trying gear, so thanks again, good to know I'm in a spot that they're looking good.

Great video! 👍👍 I've done this hike before. It's a neat hike.. There's also another longer trail within the preserve which starts near downtown pioneertown. Have you done that one?

Thank you 🙏 and yes, there's the Sawtooth Loop. It's nice but not as nice as this loop. I might get a guide up for it at some point though, worth a hike if you've done the other loop.
