Yes! I would often hear back when I used to spend a lot of time with my beloved. Good times, I miss her and this song reminds me of all our moments together
Thank you for posting this! I've always been interested in how artists go from one small idea to this huge song/album. Jack's creativity is astounding. There is so much "noise" going on but its put together into this perfect, crazy, wild album. Best album of 2014! I hope to see more "how it was made" videos.
I agree completely! "Strange Desire" is my favorite album of 2014. So much incredible, clever material. Jack is a massive talent. I love hearing all these pieces of music and how they came together. I really hope that Jack shares more stems from the album. I would gladly pay for them.
I love your work, Jack, it's incredibly meaningful to me. The pain you went through and how you processed it into music has been a friend of mine for 2 years now. You made an impact on my life, I hope I get to meet you someday (you also remind me of my dad 😅😂)
I agree the how did you do this & why is always fascinating Wouldn't that be a great tv show have the voice type competition rearrange songs & have artists critique them.
Great song, great album. Interesting that he references Springsteen and Genesis. I sort of get a Cheap Trick vibe from some of the stuff (that's a compliment btw).
Everyone has a story about their favourite song, right? For me, Rollercoaster will always breathe beside Love Simon...but there's an even bigger reason than just the connection to a great movie. I'm a high school teacher, and I run my school's Queer and Trans Culture (a support and advocacy group for 2SLGBTQ+ kids). We hosted a lunchtime session over three days, and watched a third of the Love Simon each day. Some of the students had read the book prior...and some hadn't...but everyone knew it was a mainstream movie about a gay kid. They came to my Drama Studio each day, with their friends and their lunch bags, and we watched the movie. There were also snacks. Lots of snacks. When I paused the movie on the first two days, they howled at me. "Can't we just finish it!!!". Nope. By the third day, when Simon and Blue met on the ferris wheel, you could almost see the energy in the room. And when they kissed...the room erupted...it exploded. I've never experienced such a sense of pure emotion and validation and absolute joy. The moment went beyond school, and queer & trans kids, and a simple kiss, and Rollercoaster will forever be tied to one of the greatest moments I've ever witnessed.
"Organic, synth, and some strange shit" - bleachers in a nutshell
Lmao yes- if it works it works yk - doesnt have to make sense on paper x3
this made me extremely happy and just comes to prove how amazing and powerful music can be
so much talent. all the references he made (robert smith and springsteen) make me get why i gravitate to him so much.
what a freaking master
My girlfriend and I each listened to Rollercoaster before job interviews and both got the jobs we applied for. This song gets you *hyped*!

He is a genius. Period .
The lead guitar in this is just the best sound I have ever heard!
This is awesome to see how your musical mind works, great production... I love that you sing low #rockon
I love the part where he's like "You got the organic and the synth and then some weird shit. And that's when it all came together for me."
It's so interesting hearing the pieces seperately. UGH. Obsessed with Strange Desire.
COME TO IOWA, JACK.
