@@immadog555 these are 2 different situations I've heard Cowherd try this take before. He says the Ravens chose to move off Flacco and give their rookie a chance. That is not what happened, Flacco got injured not benched the Ravens made the decision to let Lamar keep playing since he was winning when Flacco was ready to come back from injury. Remember Flacco was the Ravens superbowl winning qb that they drafted and he still had equity with the Ravens, Kirk doesn't have that with the Falcons. They are different situations and not the same thing.
I watched a breakdown on Kirk and due to his injury and his inability to move thee Falcons have become so predictable. Depending on their setup at the line, the defense knows from 75% to 90% odds what the Falcons are going to do. Putting Penix in resets those odds immediately and if the 2 major things go the Falcons way, the move should pay off. #1 Penix protects the ball. I hope he can read the D's because he has all the talent to be QB1 in this league. #2 Penix is not injured and gets all the playing time left before playoffs, he's gonna need it.
He might not have that Lamar shock factor with his legs but they make it seem like his arm talent is generational.. that could be a jolt .. Kirk has only like a handful of deep throws this year
I don't think that they are asking penix to save the season or leave them to the playoffs. Remember, Kirk is leading the entire NFL in turnovers. They had to water down the offense for him. Partly because he was turning the ball over and partly because of his severely limited mobility. I believe they are just asking penix to manage the game and protect the football. They don't need him to go out and be the next Lamar Jackson or Patrick mahomes.
What is it…with the QB position that makes people lose common sense….Your saying you believe going into next year Penix is ahead of guys like nix Maye and Daniels when it comes to developing as a QB guys that actually played a whole NFL season and built chemistry with the first team…you would forfeit all those tangible things for some make believe bs like well he’s sitting and learning a lot 😂😂😂😂
To be honest as a long suffering dirty bird it's a crap shoot to me. However someone whom I trust more than anything says he's "special" and he's gonna surprise me! We shall see! Go Falcons! Go ATL!
I doubt it. I don't think Michael Penix Jr. has Lamar Jackson type upside. Honestly, how he plays reminds me a lot of Tua Tagovailoa from the Dolphins. I think that's probably closer to how good he can end up. Lot of speedy weapons to throw to in ATL like Tua Tagovailoa has in MIA. I see the comparison situation wise to Lamar Jackson with Flacco, but player wise, I see Tua
Penix is not a runner & Kirk isnt injured. Penix has already had a lot of Injuries for his age & doesn't want to run. These are 2 different styles of QB we are talking about here. Does Colin Cowherd know anything about the topics he covers?
I watched him play in Seattle, this guy is the real deal. I can't wait to watch him play!! You got a great one Atlanta!
We hope so.😊
Penix isn't a runner , but he runs a 4.4 so on a scramble he can go !!
Kirk Cousins is floating footballs to the other team like badmintons birdies in the wind off of his arm strength alone it will be a difference
Hopefully he balls out vs NY Giants
Lamar started playing because Flacco had a hip injury, I hate it when Cowherd tries to change history.
@@ChrisH421 and they where 4-6 too don’t forget that part
Kirk has been playing historically bad and may cost us a division we had in our hands. And to your point, Kirk is playing on one leg..

Turns out the Vikings knew exactly what they were doing.

I don’t think the coaches asking him to save our szn . I think they just believe Penix gives us our best shot
Beard looks nice bro ! Hoping Penix can come out and gain some confidence

I think Penix has higher upside as a precision passer. I think he has better legs than expected but comparing to Lamar feels like a stretch
I wish Penix luck except against the Commanders 😅
Yeah I’d compare Penix to a Burrow not the same player as Lamar. Penix doesn’t run.
Penix is better than Tua he has a better arm than Tua
I feel like penix and tua are both left handed and that’s about all that they have in common 😂
I wonder if them falcons fans still think they didn’t need Lamar lol 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
They had the chance
@@PD-qu8dq yes and their weak ass owner colluded and the fans are just dog ass stupid they have the most forgettable fan base in the whole nfl
Penix cant look worse lol

Penix does run a 4.3 tho so he can run
