    Not all jobs hire in July. You take the opportunities when they come!
    I think the college really missed out because you would have been a phenomenal advisor! I transitioned mid-year to learning support at a community college, and it is THE BEST decision I have ever made. Higher Education needs the experience of k-12 teachers.
    Take the leap! You'll be such an asset to the organization and you'll realize that you can do ANYTHING because it is not done while also teaching 25 six year olds simultaneously. 😂

    From one former educator to another, I totally understand. I left almost at the end of the school year. You had to do what’s best for you. Your mental health is important. You had to make a tough decision and you did. I’m happy for you. Congratulations on your new job!!!!

    Not to use your words but like you say. “Always be you.” Many of the teachers that I have followed have left teaching. I will be happy with the new content. I remember before that you started doing more life content. I am sure that your followers will still be there for you. I actually completed my teaching certification and ended up a teacher librarian. It is still very busy, but I’m with different students throughout the day and I don’t have to do grades. I wish you the best moving forward!

    Thank you for sharing your experience. I am eligible to retire on Jan.31. I committed to staying until June. I am struggling with that commitment for the very same reasons you shared. Our grade level had a teacher resign at mid year last school year, and we had a hard time for the remainder of the year . I didn’t want to do the same thing to my team this year, I’m struggling a lot. Hearing your story helps me to know that others understand how I feel. Good luck with your new job.

    You have to do what's best for you and your mental health! Congratulations on your new adventure! We, as teachers, sometimes prioritize other's needs ahead of our own. We just have to learn to prioritize what's best for us as well!

    Good luck with your new job! Teaching is challenging, and unless you've done it, one does not understand! I also feel stress, anxiety on Sundays, dreaded parent insights in which the child is always right, and on and on. Happy for you🎉🎉"Always be you!"

    Congratulations on the new job. I left teaching after my third year. I was a substitute the next year and then went back into the classroom. I am now in my sixth year and have grown so much as an educator, but I still known teach is not for me long term, probably not past year seven. I hope you enjoy your new career.

      I kept a lot of my stuff just in case I decide to go back. However, I’m loving my new role so I don’t think I will go back. Thank you for stopping by. ☺️

    Great video! Thanks for sharing your journey. I completely get it. Completely. I'm retiring this Spring after 34.5 years. Time to put the anxiety to rest. Time to put energy into other things - be it a new job, interests, drone flying, whatever. You did well in the classroom, be proud of that and move forward with your head held high! Sounds like a great new job! Looking forward to your lifestyle every day videos. Thanks for sharing your world!

    Oh, I hear you with the guilt! It's what we do to ourselves as teachers. It's basically our subculture to feel Next Level responsibility to everybody but ourselves. I hope that your new role will have less of that subculture and will be a healthy and rewarding place to work!

    OH you poor dear. You had yourself worried for nothing. You can quit any job you want anytime you want. Losing your license??? Worried about what people think?? Don't spend one more minute of your life worrying what people think of your decisions for your life... Especially from the trolls on RUclips. You live your life and make the best decisions for you. Don't ever think what strangers on RUclips will think. they really mean nothing in long run. You could close your channel down and never deal with them again. Block the negative nellies. They have nothing better to do in their lives. HOOORRRAAAAYYYYY for you. I am so please that you are doing something that is good for you and makes you happy. Congrats!!!

      Thank you so much. I was sad to leave the school as well. I built so many strong relationships with the students, their families, and the staff. However, I am glad I made the decision. I really feel like it was the right one.

    Congratulations!!! I love this for you! You don't need to finish out the year- you are fabulous and you shouldn't have to sacrifice your mental and physical health for a profession. I love the videos where you just make dinner or walk through Hobby Lobby 🤣🤣🤣 Not here for teaching content.

    Jeremy I am amazed you lasted as long as you did the way you seemed to change grades so often at your district. Ignore the people who cannot accept that you resigned from teaching. The bottom line is, it is your life and your mental health was being affected because of your unhappiness in teaching. Your health is the most important. There is no job worth being unhappy. Congratulations on your new journey. I am sure you will do an awesome job. Best of luck in 2024!

    How am I just now seeing this video?! I knew about the job change from IG, but this video didn't show up into my feed until today. Then I checked and saw that I was no longer subscribed to your channel. 😲
    I started following you for your teacher content, but then just enjoyed watching whatever content you filmed. Cooking, creating art, shopping, house reno and projects, lifestyle, etc I like watching it all from you (ok, maybe not the book reviews, because I don't like the horror genre). So, of course I am re-subscribed 🙂 and looking forward to following you on this next adventure in your life.

      Weird! I think RUclips may remove people after awhile. I have noticed I’ve been unsubscribed from channels I know I was subscribed to. I don’t get it. Glad you’re back to being subscribed again though. ☺️

      It’s tough. This decision has been on my mind for almost 6 years. I tried a new school and different grade levels. It didn’t change things. I think when you know, you know. It’s a very scary thing but I am so glad I did it. I love my new role. I would recommend trying a different grade or a different school/district first. That really helped me figure out what choice to make. Good luck! ☺️ Thank you!

    Oh, my! First, you don't need to justify your choices in your life. That being said: I'm sadden by your choice, am jealous (?), and so excited for you at the same time. Making changes can be scary, but many times we find that the change is the silver lining that we want. I wish you the best!

    • @StephanieRace17
      @StephanieRace17 10 месяцев назад

      I know this is the first time I have heard a teacher so forward in sharing the guilt about leaving, but ultimately we all need to do what’s best individually. I agree that it could just be the silver lining or change that is needed.

  • @An__-
    @An__- 10 месяцев назад +3

    Wow... this is huge! You have made a huge change and that has to have been very scary. I completely understand and feel like most teachers get it. It feels like the whole game has changed since 2020 with increased student needs, decreased support, increased data and paperwork requirements and decreased respect. Where I live teachers make a very good wage and have a good pension. If it weren't for those two things I don't know if I would still be doing it. There are years when it's the most wonderful job in the world and there are years where I find it hard to put one foot in front of the other. This year is the latter.

    • @JeremyMichelbook

      It was a huge move. It’s been a long time in the making. It all started before I moved and I kept trying to make it work. I have plans to do a video on my entire process. It was not easy but very necessary.
