  • Hello, my friends! Let's hit 15K likes? Check out my website! enderman.ch
    Today I am going to prove you why you shouldn't download Adaware or anything from Lavasoft. I don't exactly remember whether it was a reputable name or not, but some of my friends and relatives had it installed back in the day. So please, uninstall Ad(a)ware (or McAfee, or Norton) from your computer if you still have them installed, they spread malware.
    Still got questions? Don't hesitate, send them to contact@enderman.ch!
    Hope you have a great day!

      I think it's more than a theory. Back in the days before high-speed internet, before the days when malware could steal valuable data, what would have been the point of writing malware that just made your computer malfunction? The only explanation that makes sense to me is that it was to scare you into buying antivirus.

Of course, I never fell for it and my dad (bless his soul for being a coder and knowing how to handle computers) used the ACTUAL antivirus that he installed before handing me the computer to find the malware and get them off my computer. After he thought the problem was removed, we did a full scan, and there is no more malware to be seen.

    The main reason I assume the McAffe web notification was the is because of a affiliate marketing program. They will make a fake page like that, then redirect to their affiliate link and get a profit. Additionally, the other popup is probably because of many manufactures pre installing it. I bought a Lenovo "ThinkBook" and it came preinstalled with that AND a bunch of other junk. Not windows installing it, but the BIOS that tells Windows to install it.

    Oh hey, look... the silly installation tool that Iron Source created... Why did Unity buy a company notorious for malware creeping into their installers?
    Dang I wish I could just get it...

    • @jmejuniper
      @jmejuniper Год назад

      Not really, the only way malware could get installed with that program is if the developer (of the thing you are installing) chose to try to install malware. In fact, it's completely avoidable if you just uncheck the "install X extra program" checkbox, but most people just leave everything as it is and skip through the installer.
      td;lr wasn't the company's fault

    • @AshnSilvercorp
      @AshnSilvercorp Год назад +1

      @@jmejuniper That would be easy, but the amount of times I've seen Wave Browser and a entire chromium strip of toolbars on a Windows 10 desktop (yes, the whole thing, not just the web browser).
      Pushing unknowing users into bloatware and PuP's counts really.

    • @jmejuniper
      @jmejuniper Год назад +1

      @@AshnSilvercorp But it's not the company's fault. The people who customize the installers are the ones who add the malware, and that has been a problem with installers far before that company.
