    LYRICS
    You could have told me
    At the right time
You could have introduced me proudly
Never need to have to kiss me
Never need to ever touch me
    But
You should have been nice to me
You should have been nice to me
It would have been so easy
    And on the moments
    When I was down
    You could have been there
    You could have been where
You could have once just spoke in favour
You'd never need to ever touch me
    But
You should have been nice to me
You should have been nice to me
    It wouldn't cost you money
    And on the moments
    When I fell down
Not for you to say 'oh I told you so'
    You could have waited
    You could have waited
    You could have waited
    SESSION: Southpaw Grammar
    SONG WRITERS: Morrissey/Boz Boorer
This song must have been written at some point in 1994. An instrumental or vocal version (sources contradict themselves) was recorded in December 1994 at Miraval Studios in France, with Boz Boorer (guitar), Alain Whyte (guitar), Johnny Bridgwood (bass) and Woodie Taylor (drums). If the version recorded at Miraval was indeed just an instrumental, then the vocal version was recorded either in January 1995 at Abbey Road studios in London, or at Hook End Manor the following March-April alongside most of the material from the "Southpaw Grammar" album (although it never made the album). In either of the latter two 1995 scenarios, the producer was Steve Lillywhite and Spencer Cobrin replaced Woodie Taylor at the drums.
