There are a few missing pieces that I absolutely loved. The huckleberry muffin scene and the first family dinner scene, and the Ed and Norma scenes.
Also the last few minutes of the Missing Peices serve as a sort of epilogue to the first series and a prologue to Season 3.

One bit that's fun now that you've seen the Cooper & Sam scene: in the first episode, Cooper tells Dianne (via tape) to send the evidence to Albert and his team, saying "Don't go to Sam. Albert seems to have more on the ball." This is before we've seen Albert. It's a little mean, but with lives at stake you can now see why he made that choice.

I just had the loveliest afternoon rewatching the Missing Pieces with you. It was such a shock when this came out on Blu-ray. We knew for YEARS that there were cut scenes and we had the script, but I never thought they would release this stuff. There was some rights issue, too. Laura under the fan and Mr. Mibbler's TWOOO BY FOOOUR are definately highligths for me. A few things:
    - The formica table: The little man is pretty blatandly talking self-awarely about being on a TV show ("The chrome reflects our image"). Some think that the little hole is what the jade ring is made out of.
    - Judy was supposed to be a normal character, Josie's sister who had business with Bowie's character. Then the whole Judy line from FWWM became a whole mystery for 25 years and in The Return it is adressed. But the cut scenes with Phillip Jeffrey's don't fit that anymore.
    - "I'm the arm" is quite literal: The little man is MIKE's cut off arm. In the final red room scene in FWWM he touches his stump to reconnect.
    - Concerning muffins: They have the shape of a nuclear explosion. 8oom! That's all I'm gonna say for now.
CANNOT WAIT for you to experience The Return. It truly is something else. Uncut Lynch, no laxative.

I wouldn't worry too much about constantly needing to talk and comment during a full reaction, they're mostly for people who just want an excuse to do a full rewatch themselves while also getting the reaction. Just be your normal self and people who want to see the full reaction will enjoy it. The only thing I'd say to improve this is either a verbal countdown before pushing play or a little timer counting down on the screen to help sync at the beginning. Otherwise this was perfect.
I'm still totally baffled by people saying that this was needed before The Return. This was my second time watching TMP and I tried my best to find anything that gave more clarity for season 3 or set something up and I just find none of it necessary. Without being spoilery there are certainly some concepts and lines in this that are explored in The Return but they're set up perfectly fine in season 3 by itself. You'll be able to point and say "Oh, The Missing Pieces!" but it's not like you'll have a stronger understanding.
So much of this is just fat that has nothing to do with the story and seems more like Lynch wanting to bring as many people back as possible because he enjoyed working with the cast and wanted to give them a job. Lynch was 15 years into his directing career at this point, he knew 100% that he was never going to be able to release a 4 hour movie and most initial workprints of films are significantly longer than the finished piece. I get that fans just want to spend more time with these characters, which is understandable, but all these additional scenes do is dilute the story at the center and turn this into an extended episode of Twin Peaks. We've had Twin Peaks. It's great. But this is suppose to be about truly experiencing what Laura was going through in her final days and you can't be fully immersed in her isolation and fear if you're cutting away to see Big Ed and Norma having their affair or Lucy not understanding that people can walk away from an intercom. I do appreciate having some of these scenes just because unfortunately not all of these actors lived to make it to The Return and it's nice to see them one more time. But they do not belong in the film.
Some argue that the early Laura scenes like the family dinner or Laura helping her mom with the cigarette should be in the movie and I can at least see a narrative argument for those, but personally I like that in the finished film we're almost immediately gut-punched with Laura finding the pages torn from her diary and then it's just a free fall to the ending. I think it's more honest to the character's situation and much more respectful to the audience. We already know what's going on with Leland and if the film spent too much time going "Boy isn't Laura's life just super normal!" I think it would be a worse for it. Maybe if we started off with Laura at the beginning there would be room for some of this but instead we spend the opening with Gordon and Dale and Desmond.
There are only two scenes that I wish had been left in. First is the scene with Laura and Donna going from The Roadhouse to The Power And The Glory. I've heard way too many people be confused thinking that the scene at The Glory is in some backroom at The Roadhouse so it helps clarify things, but also I love the venom that comes from Laura when she says to Donna "What a downer you are!" I think it just adds to the mixture of anger and love that she has toward Donna throughout the scene and I love the reaction that Moira Kelly gives her, you can feel Donna's heart silently breaking right there. The other scene is Leland coming home while Laura is hiding in the bushes. It's maybe the most horrifying thing that Lynch has ever filmed, I get chills all over my body when Leland looks at her the second time. Guess I gotta go make my own Q3 fan edit with those two scenes added in!
I can't believe that you're already at The Return! Feels like we're coming to the end even though there is still a lot left to go. Going to be a lot of interesting discussions in the coming weeks, excited to see your reaction to this masterpiece!

It's not clear to me if you recall, but the convenience store was first mentioned way back in the dream sequence from episode 3, when Mike's talking about him and Bob. At first it seems just a place where they hang out, "We lived among the people, I think you say 'convenience store', we lived above it," but obviously it has become more important by _Fire Walk with Me._

oooookee dokey... first, second and third... hats off...
someone mentioned maybe a timer, but whatever... the folks who mentioned the having that strip on the outside worked just fine for me...
i suppose, my only... it's not even a criticism... i know someone is helpin' with the formatting/video editing from the Q/A video... I'm just curious if they have seen this already...? I will very very happily watch every episode of the return this way to help save you guys time, but i hope ya'll can still make openings because they are amazing :) i dunno... i'm completely incapable of doin' somethin' like that myself, so wanting you guys to do it is purely selfish... lol, long story short, whatever you guys do, I'm gonna enjoy...
that said (i put it here, but it's kinda an after thought), i know we can do it like this video for all of season 3, but other folks have mentioned patreon... hmmmm... i would... it's... i don't have patreon... i would get it to watch this with ya... i don't know if this channel would suffer from a lack of editing... but i don't know anything about being a youtube content producer... i think it would be weird for someone to watch a video if they didn't already know what they were watching... but then there are old people like me who maybe watched it years ago, but no longer own it (i do, but, hopefully you catch my drift) and might not like a youtube thing that they have to spend money to enjoy... whereas the patreon folks (i think) understand that it's like that... that you gotta have your own copy... whatever... I'm not a content creator...
as for talkin' about the stuff in this video or anything about season three... i could just go on and on, but... yeah... you'll see... all i will say is that at some point in the not too distant future i am going to refer you to an old video of yours because there is a terrible pun i've been waiting on (you will be underwhelmed)... and while you seem to be gettin' a bit better with the muffin thing... at some point, if you happen to see it, i am going to tell you to have a glass of red wine with ya... it's nothing (at-fuckin-all) like the muffin thing...
again, love what ya'll put together...

Hi! The very last scenes ( after Laura’s murder) take place exactly after the end of season 2 ( basically after Coop and Annie got out from the Lodge.. it should be one month, not some months, because every episode of the show, season 1 and 2 should count for one day, and it’s a total of 30 episodes- plus there are three days after Leland death where we don t see what happens as the captions say “ three days after” in the episode of Leland’s wake- funeral); the little man / arm asking him the same question he asked before in Laura’s dream :” is it future is it past “ it has to do with the fact that in the Lodge time is non linear. The “ good”
Dale now is stuck there and he can’t leave and the one in his room’s bathroom is his doppelgänger with Bob inside. Philip Jeffries used to be an FBI agent who disappeared about two years before Teresa’s murder, he was related to a certain Judy ( which at this point we don’t really know anything about). It’s not clear if when he was in Buenos Aires and he disappeared, he jumped two years forward or if it was just a moving in space; the year in Philadelphia for Coop, Gordon and Albert should be 1988 considering that Teresa was killed one year before Laura. Gordon, when he sees Jeffries entering the room, clearly says that he ( Jeffries) was gone missing for two years.

@@atomicnumber34 Chris Isaak wanted it to last that long, no doubt about it, lol. He was a light heavyweight amateur boxer and even, if I'm not mistaken, a former winner of a regional Golden Gloves championship. I can hear him nag already "Please David, make it a long scene? I want to play a wicked game!"
The scene is overdone indeed, and that's why I like it. But it was a bit too much Twin Peaks season 2 telly series 'humour', so I understand that it got deleted.

Being the biggest fan of yours, I wanted to give you my honest opinion about the unedited video. Let’s get the negative out of the way first: if we can’t follow along and see the video with you, it’s not as fun to experience. I understand that copyrights would make it impossible to include them, but it’s almost just abstract opinions with scenes we can’t feel with you. With that said, I do love the almost real time feel of you experiencing these scenes without interruption. The down moments in between don’t bother me because that’s exactly what these pieces include. They’re not all winners, so you won’t be blown away by every one of them, so that’s normal. The video was still entertaining to experience because of your emphasized reactions, and I think I love your snort laugh as much as I do your cousin it
