9 thumbs down?.What's not to like here?. An excellent video this of the highest quality, So here's 9 thumbs up to counteract them.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.....😎
Ha ha! Thanks Frank :)
I said it before, I'll say it again... That is one BEAUTIFUL caravan.
That's one luxury yacht I may be able to afford!
Brilliant video. Andrew does wish you were here and yes l do! Grest review of the sites and sights. 4:00 Dougal's face, it's like he was fed up with the rain 😂😂😂
Hi Andrew, A travel video giving a brief taste of your life on the road traveling from one campground to another.
Sometimes it's easy, to lose that loven feelen!!
Dougal, what a star, the eyes combined with a slight tilt of the head!
😘💞
Pretty sure there was a wry smile from Dougal when you asked him if he wanted to go out..lol
Another nice video....everytime when i see your video i am also on holiday.
My first job. I had an apartment for 6 months half way between Lisbon and Cascaius in 1970.
I'm dreaming of going back with s motorhome. Thanks Andrew.
Poor Dougal stuck in the caravan. Looks like he did find some dogs to play with.
Great vlog Andrew & Dougal, Portugal is on my list of places to visit. 👍
It's easy to overlook the work that you put into making this video, the various camera angles (and you have plenty) all need setting up. The editing, narration, music etc, all hard work. Well done, and thank you for a really nice production 👍🏻
Thank you Daniel, I really appreciate that as yes, a lot does go into it! All the best.
Oh the dunes scene was beautifully filmed. It made my heart happy to remember my last trip to the ocean. Thank you for taking time to share the beautiful scenery with us during this and every video. Traveling the world is made possible through this amazing media. Thank you for bringing a pitter-patter to my heart tonight.
That reversing camera was brilliant for lining up with the hitch.
They are invaluable for us solo travellers!
Hi Andrew and Dougle great video going through France,Spain and Portugal,we stayed at a place
called Lagos in Portugal lovely place ,but we cheated and flew there, love your Airstream so cool.
We went to the caravan show at the NEC in October and had a look at the Airstreams, just waiting to win the lottery.
Then we will get one ha,looking forward to more videos ,take care ,Chris Kim .from Lichfield Staffs.

Hi Andrew Great video as always keep doing what you do!
Cheers Chris!
Hi Andrew. Another great travel blog from you, really enjoyed this one. BTW do you have any plans to return to Scotland any time soon, particularly the Outer Hebrides? When I have driven our coach tours we have stayed here...ruclips.net/video/StNvDt8U3nw/видео.html. Have you ever been to Orkney and Shetland if not, having driven our coach tours several times I can highly recommend a visit to these islands..All my best...John
Beautiful views, great video. 😍
OMG the beaches in Portugal! But when did it become 'normal' for those big mobile phone masts to be right in a camping park, my worst nightmare going on hols to be parked right beside one of them. And now people are waking to find one outside their home these days! One day it will be banned, like cigarettes, but perhaps not in our lifetime...
Dougal recognizes the word "Out" which is probably the same as "Walk"
He does indeed!
How long were you in Spain ? Doesn’t look like long enough, take your own airstream next time ,oh and your bike, here (USA) I drive maybe 150-200 miles ,set up camp ,then ride the bike to all points of the compass ,maybe stay a week , ,but your working and I’m not. Then drive to the campsite and repeat.
Thank you very much for your videos I love them. I am Spanish and here I believe. This brand of caravans is not commercialized. Could you tell me which airstream model you have. thank you .
Very interesting video well filmed ..I have motorhome thinking of a similar journey ..Did you use lot of toll roads ..was wondering of the cost of them ?
Lovely Andrew. Please show more and big big hugs both.X
Enjoying , but now suspecting you are in fact very wealthy , was a bit hyped thinking you were poor boy in the beginning , oh well nice vids
Andrew , that was a great video , very informative , what were the temps like in The Algarve at this time of year , luv the way Dougal knows exactly every word , smart little fella , luv'd the dog protecting his washing Lol and as for the luxury yacht , brilliant Lol , changed the car , how do you rate it as a tow car , your Airstream is absolutely stunning , I'm dead jealous , that was a great clever move buying that few years ago !! Happy Travels , hope Shania has settled well now into her new home and living the dream !! Linda and Lilybites xo
Well, Andrew; do you get frequent passenger discount on Euro tunnel ?
Three times a year hardly qualifies me sadly - I'd need to use it three times a month!
What an absolutely wonderful video of your tour Andrew. I would love to do that journey down to the Algarve, and what a wonderful site to finish on. I love it and being a lone motorhomer I do like the look of the roads. It was nice to see Dougal mixing with the locals! That wash brush looked as though it needed a good wash itself but having said that the car and 'van had a nice shine.
Looks like an amazing trip Dougan! Hope Andrew enjoyed driving you around as per usual😂
When you say, "We", you mean you and your dog Dougal, right? And when you say, "Caravan", you mean the Airstream itself, right? You don't mean caravan as in, "several cars travelling in one large group, in a caravan", right?
Exactly that! Caravan has become the normalised British term for travel trailer.
Glad to see there was none of there deadly terrorists tripods in this one other wise there might be some image stabilisation and the police hate that LOL.
Oh yes, those terrible tripods! *eye roll* :@)
Hi Andrew! I was in Carvoeiro (still here) when you were in Tavira. My next destination is Jerez, Spain, leaving here on Dec. 21. Where is your next port of call?
Hi Brian, I'm so behind on editing... I'm currently in France heading back to the UK - and will be there in time for Christmas. Enjoy the rest of your trip - envious you have longer than me :)
Once in a while get a 3rd party in to capture you having a bit of fun with the locals (include your dog) ....because it is coming across to me at least, a bit depressing, wandering aimlessly, waiting for death even....make it like Zorba ...less English reservation and a bit of continental madness......
That's hilarious.
Hello friend Andrew, I live in Valladolid and I would be delighted if you come here to eat and drink the typical Castilian food. or in Burgos. good trip
ARGH! I drove past your city! Sadly I am returning via a very different route, but if I head that way again I will look you up, cheers!
When you say 'we' I saw you alone driving the 4 wheeler? Looks like you enjoy this nomadic lifestyle not my cup of tea(English?) really.
We = me and Dougal. You can’t see him as he’s in his travel crate :)
You should produce a touring book with all the info taking pets ,caravan etc
👍🏻👍🏻
If only I had the time... :-/
how was the rexton driving especially towing ?... fuel economy ?
Hi, there is a full review on my channel.
As always an amazing video, very informative. Normal high standard Andrew keep it up …… Rich
Cheers Rich!
Dougal said you missed a bit
Not sure how i missed this one originally, slap on the wrist hehe. Excellent video Andrew!
No worries!
Another great video... thanks Andrew. Ian...
This is the new 'wish you where here' Andrew you are the new Judith Chalmers of caravaning OFFICIALLY 😎
👌👍Lee 🎩
Ha ha! Do I have to paint myself orange? ;@)
🤣✌️
Really enjoyed the video thanks again. Just wondering how you get the shots from the side and front of the Airstream? I assume a camera is attached, just wondered how?
Thanks, Graham
The 'Equipment' and the 'How I vlog' projects are soon to be filmed, Graham!
Thanks Andrew, really enjoyed that. Are you going to review the car and caravan in the near future? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
What car is he driving?
Movie Jose I believe it’s the Ssangyong Rexton
Hi is that a sangyong rexton what's your opinion on the vehicle. I'm looking to start touring . I'm just stuck weather to buy a caravan and toe or campervan to tour France
Hi Dez, I did a full review on the Rexton so please check out my videos on the Channel page, thank!
What a beautiful landscape. Is this your new love Andrew? Hopefully you are feeling better. Greetings from Germany, Dirk
Thanks Dirk! It is indeed beautiful... but I am missing Scotland.
@@andrewjditton Me too Andrew, but we are travelling to the western isles early may for full three weeks. That keeps me moving on. 😃
I might even see you there :)
@@andrewjditton Look out for our black Avanti. You are always welcome for a cup of tea or coffee.
Hi Andrew. Not sure if you are still picking up comments on this trip, but can you say what time of year this is. Am looking forward to seeing the rest of the tour videos.
Hi Brian, this was done late September. Thanks for watching!
Would have loved to see more of your caravan and Dougal the Jack.
Looked lovely
Thanks for sharing
Plenty more of both on the many videos on this channel. Happy viewing!
Wouldnt you of been better getting ferry to Bilbao? It would of brought you closer to the camp site without the long drive.
I won't put Dougal in a kennel on the ferry, and you can't get a dog cabin with a caravan (go figure!)
Hey Dougal. I want go Algarve...
Hi Andrew! Love your project. And i love to see your videos :D. Are you still in the algarve? If so i live in faro and would love to meet you
Excellent video, we are hoping to drive to Portugal in our motorhome with our pooch. Are dogs allowed on the trains there?
I've no idea, I didn't take a train there!
As always a great video Andrew 👍
How did you find speaking to the locals Andrew. Do you have a little Spanish or Portuguese? Did you use a Tag on the way down? Were you travelling about 300 miles per day (as mentioned in a previous video?). Loved the first site in Portugal.
Merci beaucoup Andrew for another great vidéo 😉😉 i love the airstream
Je t'en prie comme toujours mon ami!
Lot of driving, more driving and
more. It was endless.
Would like to have seen and heard more about the places and people.
H F i
Great vlog again. How do you find the ssangyong as a tow car?
Vlog coming soon.
Great video Andrew, I love watching your videos, they are very well put together. How do you keep the camera on the dashboard?
I am planning on a 'How I vlog' video for early 2019 once I have cleared my backlog :)
Andrew Ditton thanks Andrew really useful. My other q which thought about is how get ones on side of van and point towards van from car.
wow everything just looks great over there , we are hoping to get over the water this next year ... brilliant video thanks . mick and Christine
Another great video, thanks Andrew. some of those sites looked a bit ropey ! but the sand dunes beach looked great. Dougal fed up with the rain, I know how he feels, this winter has been so wet, hence why looking at escape to the sun possibilities
Could you tell us roughly what the campsites charge?
I have linked to all the campsites in the description below.
Hello Andrew, would you have some guides or service providers offering filters to know if a given place bring water and electricity supply, sewage disposal (dishwasher, washing machine used in the motorhome). I always try to see that in your videos but apparently the camping places in which you go don't offer these kind of resources. Also knowing if there is enough space for a camping-car (motorhome) and its toys hauler would be a must to know too. On my side i target a motorhome length of 7,8m and trail a toy hauler of 5,5m length, i would be interested by your opinion/advices/infos on this subject related to these places (the one you know + the ones that bring the needed resources).
Hello, I'm not too sure I understand your question. If you mean 'do I have a dishwasher or washing machine in the caravan?' the answer is no. I wash my dishes my hand, and if I am on a site with no laundry, I wash my clothes by hand too. Or I go to a launderette if I need to wash bedding.
@@andrewjditton Oh sorry, no, i meant, for the ones who have a dishwasher, a washing machine in their motorhome, it would greatly useful to know the informations mentioned. I think your experience and knowledge of the places you practised whatever the country would help on these questions.
Dougal is so cute.
Really stunning video Andrew, thanks for sharing that great trip 👍🏻
Welcome back BIG GUY! Thanks for posting!
Thank god you didn't show our favorite campsite in the Algarve. ;)
Dougal's bored face in the Basque Country... ❤
Andrew lovely video really enjoyed this one, I recognised so many of those roads was nice to see them. Nicer weather there I’m currently enjoying below zero temperatures but thinking about going south very soon. Thank you
Nice video!
You have a different tow car here, what happened to the pick up and motorbike?
It was on test for the trip for a vlog.
hi do you know where can i find one airstream used in Portugal?
Hi Racardo, I'm sorry but I don't. Good luck!
How cute is that dog
Maybe I missed it, but what were the dates of your trip? TH
We're on the road until 20th December - home for Christmas!
Great to see you on the move again, any chance of providing us with a cost breakdown at the end of your trip around Portugal and Spain? Thanks
Loved this video. Thank you and greetings from the Algarve. ;)
we've stayed at regio...lovely swimming pool.
Excellent! I imagine it's a lot more 'loved' in the summer!
Great videos great channel!!👍
Thank you :)
The rain is still the same, pain wherever you are!
Vlog is a bit different this time Mr D. Enjoyed it though.
Did think about doing this trek but always put off by the tiresome drive from Cheshire great video enjoyed it & well done
Now that is a super video. Very enjoyable indeed!
I would like to live to wtf, great video! Greetings to Doughal!
Yeah, one of the benefits of motorhomes is that it's not quite such a pain to maneuver and back up, compared to caravans.
The Steamliner looked a nice piece of kit. Have you ever tried a vw Touran for touring?
First😉
"Love the "Jazzy" guitar music who are they" nice vid"
Another great video Andrew, Safe Travels :-)
Thanks for another wonderful video and ride along.
Heard the first few bars of music, immediately thought "Dallas"!
Oh my! That show has so much to answer for... :)
@@andrewjditton
Mmmmm shoulder pads!
I was thinking Howard’s Way!
Many thanks Andrew! Your love of travel, of airstreams, and living minimally has been an inspiration! So much so that I bought a beautiful, shiny, 1976 Airstream Tradewind and plan to eventually take it to the UK and Europe 😃. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
Wow! Congratulations on the Tradewind :)
Great video tour Andrew, complete with lots of Airstreaming gorgeousness, thank you sir... 💚 👍🏻 🐍
You're very welcome :)
Nice travel vlog, Andrew. But what a pity you didn't show the areas of Portugal at the point of entry to the country and onward. You were likely to be pressed for time to reached the Algarve, I'm sure, but there are some very scenic areas along the way, which deserve to being shown as well! Perhaps in a next visit...?!
There will be another visit I am sure. I was needing to get to Cascais quickly :)
Yet another great, informative and enjoyable video Andrew/Dougal. The information and advice you give make it so much less daunting for beginners like me, who want to travel the continent for the first time (when we get back to 'normal'). Many thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
Looks fantastic place Andrew love watching your uploads so informative.
Planning on a trip for about 3wks in 2020 we have swift twin axle and x5 would it work out cheaper by ferry to bilbo. fancy Portugal then the wife wants to go on to Spain ending up in Paris.
What happens Andrew if you have to take your dog on the ferry can you book a kennel.
We have been caravanning for 20yrs or more but have never ventured abroad.
Hi Neil, I made a video all about it a while back here: ruclips.net/video/fMfRUvmUfr0/видео.html
Nice drive Andrew.
Cheers Bernie in palm springs
Wonderful journey and you did it man! Congrats! Loved to watch...another great video!
Thank you!
Lovely to know you went to my country and enjoyed it. 👍
One for the bucket list
Nice kettle :-)
Another great vlog, you are such a natural orator, that and the filming make for a most enjoyable watch - thankyou
Thank YOU William!
Hi, are you doing a film on the tow car? It seems an interesting vehicle, all the best, Rich.
Yes, end of this year/early next Rich.
4:17 ... he looks just like you..! :)
Thanks Andrew. We love Spain. We really liked the last place you stayed at including the Caravan wash bay. We fancy the East Coast of Spain, but no firm dates as yet. Thanks again P&J 👍👍😀
No doubt we shall catch up and natter about it in the new year!
@@andrewjditton That would be nice. See you soon. P&J😀👍
lost weekends caravan v
Susie F hi sorry I'm old school was does v mean😀
For your information, lost weekends caravan, that "...last place you [Andrew] stayed at including the Caravan wash bay" is in the Algarve, which is in Portugal, not Spain; and it has been so, since the mid-thirteenth century. How extraordinary that in this day and age there are people out there who still think that Portugal -- a country in existence as an independent nation since early twelfth century -- is in Spain!
