I really liked this video. The script sounds interesting while executed in a simple way for its viewers to understand. Unfortunately, I have a few issues with it. The primary issue I have with this video is the footage. It's supposed to be shot using a VHS camera, I'm assuming, so it'd be understandable to see why it has that look. At the same time, it was really hard to make out what was really going on, aside from the audio playing out. I had to squint a few times to see better but to no avail. Speaking of audio, I had issues with the audio in the background as I couldn't hear much else but the tape recording blaring loudly, save for the narrators voice. Hearing this along with the narrators voice conflating together made for a somewhat unpleasant viewing experience overall. The extended heavy breathing would be another example of this as it sounds inhuman. My final nitpick would be the narrator himself. Now I don't know if there was a VA involved or if text-to-speech was used, signifying the difficulty I had when hearing things right, but he didn't sound too convincing as a character in potential and or immediate danger following the videos resolution. This made it a tad difficult to feel the much needed suspense in an obviously deadly situation. Now with all of this being said, I will give credit where it's due. Throughout the video, I had a looming sense of what will happen and with that, came dread, which may or may not be due to the FNAF VHS series creeping me out in general lol. I actually questioned what Freddy was going to do to the protagonist in this video. "How is he going to kill him? Is it going to be quick and instant? Is he going to jump at him- - or will it be gruesomely agonizing?" I also got particularly fearful for the protagonist when Freddy started showing signs of malfunction- - which would add up nicely for when the narrator is left hiding from Freddy before being killed. I will say that the ending served its purpose, even in spite of the previously aforementioned issues I've noted here. All in all, with enough improvements, this tape will be a lot better. Anyway, I hope all is well! :)
Thank you for your comment and for your bullet points that bothered you a bit there. I love to hear that you can give some tips here. The voice is a text-to-speech. I wanted to try this out for my first tape to see if it goes down well. But I will definitely take your points into account in the next tape so that it's more comfortable for you to watch.
Welp. I’ll hide in the comments by myself for now. Excellent work on the video btw
