Pterodactyl swing. Nailed it! You are the only person I see on RUclips addressing the problem of being overly connected, and rigid. This makes total sense to me. I am right handed so starting with the right arm/side feels more natural. Thank You!!

My back swing is very similar to this. I would describe it as the right arm pulling while the left arm is following the right arm with a little pushing. Amazingly the left shoulder will turn under and you'll be very aware of your weight shift to the right. Once you've determined the length of your back swing, you'll feel the transition of your weight or pressure moving back to the left as you move into your forward swing. With practice, it becomes a fluid motion increasing your club head speed with very little effort. The only problem will be adjusting for the new lengths you'll be hitting all you clubs. And that's a good problem to have

This is so good. I spent eons (like most) being taught & trying to learn “positions” & angles to the point of wanting to quit due to frustration. Started to just rely on these “feels” like this. Feeling the weight of the club & letting my body do the work. Letting go of tension, letting go of arms & learning what the ball flight meant & adjusting accordingly. Now I just naturally swing at what feels like 50% & my swing has transformed.

@@TheArtofSimpleGolf Well thank you, this definitely adds a piece to what I call the golf swing “puzzle”. Unfortunately, I can turn my shoulders to kingdom come BUT my big problem is I cannot build any meaningful torque with my hips whereby I feel a whipping sensation through the ball. I don’t know how pro golfers do it, especially Jon Rahm with his rather short backswing. Yep, it is a puzzle. And if I go to a lighter shaft (senior), those have such a low kick point that one gets great height but distance for me is short changed then as a result. A friend of mine who is a good golfer told me to concentrate on both hinging and unhinging the club and also working on getting a swoosh sound through the hitting zone without even hitting balls.

    I have a few questions.
I will say that I've been feeling cramped and narrow for a while. I was taught to keep the right elbow tucked and yet left arm straight which causes that crossing the chest/tight feeling. Compound that with the "well I need to rotate more" and it feels trapped on the way down. I suppose the way my body adjusted to this is having a very in-to-out swing with the right arm tucked in and rotate except I suppose I'm not rotating enough so maybe wrist flipping, early extension, typically pulls and hooks..
My questions are what are the feelings for the downswing? Is the left arm now pulling and the right arm is pushing and essentially palm facing the ground and through? I understand having flow and supple wrists and I'm going to do this backswing drill but I'm curious about the downswing one now.
EDIT: Wow, I watched this video and then checked my notifications just to see you linked me right to this one! Lol.
