My best artist from Tanzania and was big in Malawi. My Malawian radio DJ would translate this song saying masemenji means in laws . The guy was merely complaining that every time we meet someone you say he is my in-laws, they are too many, I might have to build a college for in-laws.
Wow we are so many all in love with Mbarakas music. The good news is that I contacted Taji Mbaraka the maestros daughter and convinced her to re do some of the hits so with Makelele who was one of volcano musicians and others we have already worked on Morogoro yapendeza, Esta , Shida and Soniasa as a beginning I will inform you of the developments
Mbaraka Mwishehe (The maestro) is a great musician of all times. It is a pity that he recorded this piece while his band had already disintegrated. Though he branded the group he had used to record the music as Super Volcano in actual fact he had simply gathered musicians from other bands in Kenya most of them being former Super Volcano musicians to record this song and other hits. The truth is that he had no music instruments and no band. He was in Kenya to try to find means to buy new music instruments and bring his band back to life. If he had produced this piece in such hard conditions, what would had happened in terms of quality of music if his mission would had succeeded.
Yes it was Super Volcano with no music instruments - worn out after five years of use- 1977 - 1979 Mbaraka campedt in Kenya on a mission to find new music instruments the mission which was not fullfilled
Mbaraka arrived in Mombasa towards the end of 70s when the economy of Mombasa was really thriving.Gangs of illegal miners from upcountry and others from Tanzania with Tanzanite would converge here, when Mombasa kuingia ni rahisi,,,,.Mbaraka as told by those miners from upcountry spent his final years hopping from one bar to the other. The sad reality of life
Muziki huu unanirudisha Shinyanga,Mwanza,Sirari border ,64 Nairobi na sehemu zingine mbali mbali mashariki. I enjoy this genre even today in my house back home in Zambia 🇿🇲. Maximum respect to the people of Ujamaa and in-deed the people of Harambe.
Nimezitendea haki mb zangu, hawa ndio waimbaji, sio mtu anapiga shoo unadhan sio yey inabaki kusema mikono juu hadi shoo inaisha, walitendea haki nyimbo, lala salam na wengin wa zilupendwa.
ever wondered.....why are great people easily lost? Listen to strings and his commanding lead voice. So good so that someone below is speculating that MMM may have been born in Zaire! Minchelino Mavatiku Visi played in Tanzania but could not outplay this guy. Ombogo. Fl
many thanks to bro Wahinya wa ngotho for introducing me to the music of mbaraka mwinshehe many years ago. God, githuya village was like a commune and we were known as mbari-ya-igi. Koma thayu nyumba itu aimwo ni-iri acio makuragire mangirohuhuo mithimo ni ngoma. ---- mwega wa gakenia los angeles.
Mashemeji wangapi? Mimi nimechoka...(How many brothers-in-law do I have? I'm fed up...) Tena najiuliza sana, wanatokea wapi (And I keep asking myself where they come from) Wanitia mashaka, nakuwa na wasiwasi (You make me worried, I'm anxious) Unaniweka roho juu, imani nawe imeshanitoka (You leave me in a state of anxiety, I have lost all trust in you) That's the first part of this hit by Tanzanian music genius Mbaraka Mwinshehe Mwaruka.
this piece reflects a steep decline the Tanzanians' appreciation of music. Today, many Tanzanians appreciate such stupid music as "INAMA", "NYEGE-ZI", "TELEZA" etc in a way that encourages many of our modern musicians to keep composing music that don't last even for month, far below the level of this one.
Anaetasikiliza Wimbo sasa 2020 Gonga like twende pamoja hapa
