I remember this game being scary when I was a kid. The music still freaks me out the most, especially that terrifying theme that starts when the AI first tells you about Samus X. I had to turn off the sound then and still to this day.
Yeah, when I was little the music scared me so much. I could only play at night too because my brother would always have the gameboy, so the game was 10x scarier. I never completed it cause I wasn’t that smart and was always too scared to approach any enemies or bosses lol
@@RandoLePerson Super Metroid is good and definitely has the best sense of atmosphere, but gameplay wise, I much prefer Zero Mission and Fusion honestly.
everyone loves to hate on how linear this game is, but damn it it's still the best metroid game to me. no game in the series has a vibe this potent. from the music to the beautiful sprites. perfection, in my humble opinion. loving dread tho. has some amazing stuff for fusion fans
This is one of the only games that truly scared me and made me intimidated to complete certain missions. Absolutely ethereal vibes. Truly a legendary game
Both Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero Mission have such good graphics for their time and the system. I'll definitely pick both up if I get a GBA SP or Gamecube with Gameboy Player And of course the gameplay is pretty sweet too :)
Technically the GBA was a 32-bit system but pretty much all the games were 16-bit making the GBA more of a souped up SNES (just like the Wii was a souped up Gamecube).
@@Rokabur i've really underestimated the GBA in recent years. At first I thought it was just a portable Snes but recently realized it's much more than that if done properly.
The GBA was certainly a great handheld. Though the smaller screen size dose put a limit on what all it could render. I remember Yoshi's Island when it was ported over from the SNES that it's graphics looked less impressive, sorta compressed, compared to the original. Though with games made specifically for the GBA, like the Metroid games, Gunstar Super Heroes, and others, really show what it is capable of.
I absolutely LOVED this game as an 11/12 year old haha! The only thing I didn't like about this amazing playthrough was that I always hit A immediately during dialogue so the whole thing would show since it was super slow to me then (and now) lol. Very nicely done!
This was my first metroid game that I played and beat. Then zero mission, metroid 3 and metroid. I had the first 3 on my 3DS but I never did beat the 2nd.
One of the best games I used to own and play when I was 6. Sometimes I played it in my room, at my backyard, at the park, and sometimes during bedtime before school. I just never thought I was a luckiest kid to be part of this Nintendo hysteria back then.
From the start of the game. That was actually Adam malkvoich talking to Samus and she doesn't know that yet. He still cares about her and he acts like a second father to her
I never had the occasion to do a Metroid game on the GBA because i never owned one. That’s a shame because Metroid Fusion looks great. And the music is nice too.
Emulate it! As long as you have a computer you can easily play it by searching for a GBA emulator and a Metroid Fusion rom! If you want to keep your computer uncluttered, you can get a raspberry pi and use that! There are lots of tutorials online.
35:58 You're supposed to go back to the Navigation Room after getting the bombs for an additional piece of dialogue/to get your next objective. You can go forward without it and just beat the boss, but I'm specifically looking up playthroughs to try to see this piece of dialogue I missed... and then you skip it as well, lol. Oh well.
Samus Aran Is At It Again, And She Has The Powers Of The Metroid To Stop The X-Parasites! NINTENDO'S METROID FUSION! Only On Nintendo Game Boy Advance! Rated Everyone!
The best Metroid Game, Prime being second (since prime gave fear in the opening sequence). If only they made more games with this style, music, sounds, and seriousness.
Boy, that brings me memories. That game is still amazing, and it was AMAZING to play it back then on my GBA. I hope Metroid Dread does it justice, being the direct sequel to it.
It could've been less linear. But still a pretty good game. I think it works for the kind of story it told. Thankfully zero mission is also available for those who want a more free experience.
I never got the chance to beat it. The game is just to long for a old handheld game but i did get almost all the powers when i played as a kid. I deff made it further in this game then my brother did lol
I have tired every emulator I know I have tried 2 computers and 2 phones all the emulators play the game with static in the background and clicks and pops.. I came to RUclips and it seems this person is using an emulator as well as there is static in the background. Does anyone know how to get clean clear sound for emulator to play this game? It seems all the gba games I try have this issue.
Was this played by an AI? Some parts were perfectly timed like a person who’s beat this game many times. And then at other points it seemed to be controlled by a nonce.
It would be great if they included this with Dread because I never properly played this and other than using an emulator, I see no other way to do so now. It's the only thing that is making me hold off on purchasing Dread.
