About this variation:
--------------------------
The chord progression in the beginning of Speed of Sound is brilliant and what makes this Pearl Jam song from Backspacer so great. When I first head this I actually heard Bach. I took a ride on this part of the song. This is not a typical pearl jam piano cover but a variation on a theme. Respect to Eddie Vedder for both lyrics and melody. Dedicated to all the PJ fans who saw my "Amongst the Waves" videos and requested more variations.
Recorded in Hollywood, CA 11.10.2009
Love this. One of the best songs on Backspacer. Also reminds me of Keith Jarrett’s “The Köln Concert”.
11 years since you put this video out, and I still watch it constantly. You have no clue how much this video inspired me. When you posted this, I was 15 years old and had started playing piano 2 months before. I had been playing guitar for 7 years by then, but had convinced myself to finally learn piano. This Pearl Jam album was new and I loved it. I decided to find piano versions of that album and has no clue I’d find something that would effect me as much as this has for over a decade. Thank you so much for this. It’s gotten me through some rough times. Hope you’re doing fantastic despite the pandemic going on now!!
Wow man you’ve touched my heart! That’s such an inspiration!! I’m blessed!! We’re both blessed! I wish you the most amazing rewarding inspiring life ! Keep making music keep playing! Music is our way of life!!!

I will listen again to Unthought Known and see if I click with it.
I am not trying to make covers for songs but instead a variation on a part of a song that I particularly like. This is what I did here after hearing Bach in the first chords of Speed of Sound. This part is what makes it so unique and beautiful for me.
this was unreal
