      Sorenkhanizio He didn't say that he was in the 94 kg category,he said that he attempted a lift that was the record in that weight category .. he probably knows that clarence is 105 kg ... it's so impressive tho

      somefobe you know that they only use straps to save their hands? im sure you have heard of hookgrip right? its what all olympic lifters use and it doesnt require "grip strength" at all, but doing multiple lifts and all your warmups this way will shred your hands

      OBJECTION! Heavy lifters don't steal all the plates because they increase the weight in big increments, unlike sub180snatch scrubs who grab all the 10's and 15's pounds plates from the gym for that sickening 300lbs deadlift

    • @Kladivoun-ch3tv

      I get a bunch of messages on facebook offering me free supplements/clothing in exchange for me to advertise their compnay on my channel. I always refuse because I barely take any supplements, already own clothes and most importantly, I think it's an unfair deal because I get 60,000+ views on most of my videos. They would benefit much more than I would.

  • @paulglass100
    @paulglass100 7 лет назад

    Clarence, I am an older lifter. 45. I started crossfit and olympic lifting at 41. Prior to that just bodybuilding stuff (can you say never locking out movements, never working core muscles and stabilization, etc...I cringe when I think back to doing that stuff for decades). During the first 2-3 years of crossfit, I made all the typical older male crossfit mistakes (poor front rack position, butt wink, unable to properly lock out overhead (horrible lower trap activation and horrible overhead lockout ability, rounded back deadlifts, overhead squats with a 45 degree torso, elbow tightness leading to only partial arm lockouts, pullups and kips without tight/neutral torso, wrist inflexiblity, etc...yet I kept increasing the weight despite all this--dumbass). Anyway, I had to rehab everything. (I had 2 shoulder surgeries (in left and right), massive lumbar disc herniation, left wrist ganglion cyst, all in an 18 month period. I was so stupidly obsessive about training, I kept at it and got to where at times i couldn't sleep from the shoulder pain, and I couldn't sit from the butt and leg pain. Psychologic obsessiveness to something can be brutal, i've learned this the hard way). I have now done hundreds, if not thousands, hours of rehab exercises and stretching. Now I am almost pain free and my mobility is to the point now where I can safely do this stuff.
    Here is what I want to tell you, along the way, I've watched so much olympic lifting, all via instagram and you tube. The knowledgable info on the internet, as well as physical therapists, have taught me so much. (Dan Pope, Mark Rippletoe, Power Monkey Fitness, Gymnastic Bodies, ROMWOD, GMB fitness, etc...Orthopedic docs, not so much). I think I've earned the right to bash some of the orthopods (the ones I personally saw, they just didn't address poor physical mechanics), because I'm an MD myself. I want to tell you though...I would compare watching your videos to watching Rocky movies when I was a kid. YOUR JERK, CLEAN, AND SNATCH TECHNIQUES ARE INCREDIBLE. I have been copying your style as much as possible and it has made a HUGE difference in my lifts.
    THANK YOU. EVERYONE HERE IS RIGHT, YOU WOULD MAKE AN INCREDIBLE COACH. If you haven't considered a career in teaching others (olympic weightlifting certification, Physical Therapist, orthopedic surgeon, etc...), please do. You honestly have a gift and you have the potential to help thousands of people. Your videos already are. Sorry if am sounding preachy or like a know it all, I just thought it may be helpful to hear from someone older who has learned everything by making massive mistakes first.
    Please keep up the inspirational work.
    I sincerely thank you for inspiring all of us.

    Strength lift ( clean and jerk ) before technique lift ( snatch ). Everything makes sense when Clarence does it ;)

      that would be cool, although winning is not guaranteed, the only way would be having at least 2 lifts which he is used to do otherwise he could be fucked.

    This guy could make a tutorial or give tips for stretching/mobility.

      brunoduff He made a Q&A where he addressed stretching and mobility and he basically doesn't really do it. He says it's only necessary to do if you can't get into the right positions for the olympic movements, but he also emphasized that he is not the end authority when it comes to mobility and stretching. There are a lot of people who know more about this subject and there are a lot of people who require extensive stretching before exercise.

    It's been months, now. Still can't find the song at 2:03. Running low on supplies. Morale is severely depleted.
