- This was one of those moments where you realize just what she is fully capable of and you can tell she was having a blast doing it. The song suits her perfectly. The video isn't the greatest, as I wasn't able to zoom in at all, but the audio came out so well that hopefully people can experience the power of her voice and enjoy that.
There is a slight little speech at the beginning, followed by the song.

Only difference is you will never see frank doing a lorde cover, she's a one hit wonder as far as I'm concerned.
Her version and Frank's versions are so different in the most beautiful way ever. Different vibes for different moments.
That's the way I view it! You don't have to love one and hate the other and you don't even have to pick a 'favorite'. They can both exist and love each for what they are and possibly bring out different emotions in you.
I love how she captures the emotion of the original song, but presented it with her character and makes it completely authentic

@@jacksoninc.4062 Different people have different tastes. I don't think there is anything wrong with people disliking a cover, just like there is nothing wrong with disliking a movie or a painting. Some people have a hard time seeing past the original material, just like others have artists they love so much that they may dislike the original just because it was by someone else. Personally, I always try to treat everything on its own merit, without judging it against anything else, although even I'm not perfect, (especially when it comes to remakes of classic movies.) The nice thing is that people have a choice of what to listen to, so if they prefer one over the other, they can easily simply listen to one version and ignore the other. I wish people didn't have to bash on other artists for simply trying to entertain, show their appreciation for another artist, or do what they love, but people have the right to voice their opinions and unfortunately, some people purposefully abuse that privilege to get reactions out of people.
I love how calm the crowd is. Not screaming at the top of their lungs while Lorde sings
It was up and down, but luckily when she did the emotional stuff people were more reserved, witnessing the power and beauty of her voice. I don't know what it was like back in the crowd however because I was so close to her that the majority of the audio I was able to capture was more pure and clean.

I don't care who 'did it better'. I don't know Lorde's music. I just think it's beautiful how you can see her passion with which she sings this incredible song. I will love and adore any human being who appreciates Frank's music as much as I do.

Yep. She said he inspired her while writing this album, and so she wanted to do something to show her support for him. In my eyes it is a win-win, and I'm grateful she sang it because I thought she did a great job. For (what I would consider a large artist) like Lorde to cover someone else's track should be looked at a blessing, because she is promoting that other artist's work and helping them get more recognition.

This seems to be one of those things you either love or hate and I loved it.

Melodrama and Blonde are literally up there among my favourite albums of all time.
