12023 was an absolutely insane year for modding, and no less so for Macrocosm. I'm so happy with everything my team has done over the past few years, and the prospect that we're actually going to publically release this mod soon fills me with inexpressable joy and excitement, and I cannot wait for people to try it out.

2023 was the year I really became involved with the modding community, it's been such an incredible experience to meet so many talented people and work on so many amazing projects. My life has been turned upside down thanks to this community, and I couldn't be happier to be a part of it.
The future of Calamity and Modded Terraria is incredibly bright, and the fans have a cascade of awesome new content to look foward to. Here's to 2024!

That's really sweet, I'm glad you find so much contentment from modding! To be honest, I've considered modding multiple times as well... Until I studied C# for a solid 16 hours straight and realised "oh fuck, this is like something i'll have to actually spend time on" and then gave up :p
I've gotten to meet some really cool devs this year as well, and they've all been incredibly nice!

I was considering mentioning it, but I think it was basically just finished in 2023. Haven't heard of any upcoming updates for it in 2024. :p
Wrath of the Gods is BY FAR my favorite boss in GAMING, I can't wait to see what they do next
He is quite up there in my list as well, ESPECIALLY in terms of looks and aesthetics. That fucked up, TWISTED look really makes me salivate all over the place. From what I've seen though, their Noxus rework is gonna be EVEN MORE edgy and absolutely deranged. Gotta keep our eyes peeled!

The yharon/dog rework are unlikely to be coming this year. Tho alot of other boss resprites and reworks are planned.
Basically all the calamity pre hard mod bosses are planned to be resprited and reworked. And alot of other things like arsenal gear, profaned ore, armor reworks. and of course, the sunken sea rework.
I don't see why'd they prioritize other things over those tho. The Yharon sprite has been in the works for years at this point and is the ONLY sprite in Calamity that sticks out from the rest like a sore thumb (in terms of it's outdated looks. not saying it looks BAD per say, just a lot less masterfully crafted than the other ones) and DoG's fight is very underwhelming for most old Calamity players. It doesn't really do anything unique. Just my opinions tho, if they truly don't come out this year, then we always have the next year to look forward to! Cheers!
@@beeleav yharon might be this year but I wouldn't count on it. Dog is 100% not this year because they want this fight rework to come out then they release the distortion. And they said that it wouldn't be released for a long, long time. Because they want to finish with the biome reworks first before adding anything new. And the reworked fight will be highly integrated into the distortion itself.
The sub-worlds not releasing soon is fair. I still feel as if they shouldn't show things off that aren't even close to being done yet, such as the DoG rework, but I guess that's to hype people up for what's to come. My bad assuming they were coming this year. I guess I at least said "probaby" so that softens the fall a little bit. Let's keep our hopes up though, who knows what may happen! B)

I love how Calamity has been focusing on removing, changing and polishing the bloat. My #1 dislike of Calamity was the amount of useless weapons that will never be useful because they are worse thaj other weapons

Just make calamity an official dlc at this point. IT WOULD ACTUALLY BE A GODSEND TO HAVE A DLC FOR TERRARIA ESPECIALLY CALAMITY. But, then it’s ruined because cooperate greed exists (Microsoft will not be having it) also never knew the creator of infernum was a Brony yet again I’m a furry and I know there are a few furries in the calamity dev team and bronies so not too surprising.

I used to play Elements Awoken a TON back in the day, but I'm sad to inform you that I've seen not even a SINGLE word uttered of it in the past year. It WAS supposed to get this big update, but I don't think that it ever did.

So according to this video the only mods left are all the overrated flashy mods that arent like Terraria at all and fail to keep the original games charm and balancing. I guess mods that are unecessarily difficult and flashy are the most eye catching to some people and every mod just has to replicate this style that Calamity created.

I LOVE the aesthetics and overall feel of the original game, but I WOULD be lying if I said I didn't love:
- the gloomy, melancholy nature of Calamity with rich world-building
- the mystical, fantastical, glistening world of starlight river
- the goofy and wacky characters of Split mod
I love how they all make the game feel different from the original. Viewing the game world from a different perspective is always a fresh and unique experience for me, and I personally love it. It all gives me a brand new appreciation for Terraria.
To each their own though :)
