Yeah it is a good idea to wait at least 4 months or more for 24H2 to mature more, especially because Win10 is rock solid and stable, everything works well, it's such a shame having to abandon it in October.
My last windows 10 PC was converted to Linux Mint and donated as a client system for shelter clients to use for email and internet access under staff supervision.
That's because there are 2 dozen well documented bugs preventing the upgrade from running, so let's offer it to older windows 10 PCs. Great idea. Like renaming Office 365 to Copilot 365. Brilliant. The only one of my computers to update is my ROG Ally.
So glad I disabled TPM 2.0 in my BIOS. I ran the PC Health Check....and it says my PC is not compatible with Windows 11. Thanks for the update Brent. Take care.
Won't happen automatically unless you're actually signed-IN to a Microsoft account though. A lot of folks nowadays skip the Microsoft signing-in when they buy a new pc because they don't trust Gates.
I really hate how comments on RUclips no longer get misspelled words underlined. You now have to trace through the entire comment so that the cursor will pop up the misspelled words, and you can correct them. This needs to be fixed; it is so totally annoying!
@diaman_d Why would putting a space behind a word trigger the underlining of mis-spelled words? I have seen this happening since the 24H2 update and it comes and goes. I am not sure what the issue is but it is really annoying. How would cookies and cache affect spell checking? I honestly don't see how one affects the other. does spell checking use cookies in its process or does it rwely on cache for words that are spell-checked? Seems to be particularly bad for hyphenated items like spell-chekced.
@@PWingert1966 just could be an error in your browser with youtube site. It is not a general problem since it still works on other systems. Putting a space means the word is finished and ready for spellcheck, no suggestions while typing, which is what you may be referring too with spell check.
Thanks for all the news. I want to report one problem that I encounter. I periodically update the drivers of the integrated graphics card from Intel in my laptop.
And after a successful and clean installation, the Windows 11 update center tries to update this driver to the oldest version. I just paused the driver update from the update center.
@butterfly_effect11 That's the way it is on some brands of computer. Like Dell has it's own version of certain drivers like that so microsoft and Del keep overwriting each other. you either have to block windows from downloading the driver or block your lap tops support assistant from downloading their version of the driver. I have this same issue with my intel UHD graphics driver. I chose to disable Dell update cause their version of the driver causes flickering and freezing.
The problem is with intel, they delete the stock windows driver and then windows redownloads and installs the old, the solution is to then manually change back to the new driver. But everytime you update intel gfx driver it will wipe the old driver and the game starts anew. When the old stock MS driver does not get deleted but remains on the system then this complete joke does not happen. Telling either Intel or MS does not help one bit because the shits love to play dumbass.
So windows 10 pc's that is not compatible with windows 11 wont get this once searching for updates? Because the whole of 2024 and 2023 i have never seen one of the full screen pop ups on my windows 10 machine asking me to upgrade to windows 11 And i actually press search for updates every patch tuseday so i get the important updates as fast as possible. The question mainly is, Will i see that upgrade to windows 11 24h2 once i press "search for updates" on a patch tuseday even if my windows 10 pc is not meeting the requiremments?
The 400 machines I have at work still do not meet the system requirements being on average between 13 and 15 years old. They are isolated from the internet and continue to work just fine without receiving non-Windows 10 updates. They will continue to be in use for at least the next 2 years until I retire and then it will no longer be my problem. DO Nothing is my social housing organizations preferred choice for a course of action. The aim is to not incur a costs of 10% of the organizations entire operational budget just to replace he PC's retest the 22 custom apps with possible rewrites of apps that no longer have vendor support , retrain users on the new OS and hire wo full time IT support staff, a IT Manager specialised in IT and develop a servbased domain controller enterprise architecture with a server and an actual IT department as well as a server room. This is in contrast to the current peer to peer office based LAN's , a peer to per mail system where each office has a computer that sends mail to the other offices on the VPN connection and a 1/2FTE support who's other 1/2 FTE is a socialworker in a homeless shelter.
I hate this.. Force feeding updates. 24H2 is is very different under the hood. It was originally intended to be WIndows 13. For anyone on Windows Home.... This is about to become a forced update
No Thank You, Microsoft. I tried Windows 11 and it is awful. What takes one click on 10 takes three or more. It is also much, much, much slower than 10. I am happy to remain on 10 until Windows 12 comes around.

They are still demanding the motherboard have a TPM so still no Win11 option here....
My windows 11 pc's still have not got 24H2. And I have 30 of them.

You have me beat, but I have 4 and none of them have 24H2...

The beginning of the end for Windows 10
Why bother? Windows 10 works fine.

that is strange since it will still underscore faults the moment i put a space behind the word. Maybe time to clear some cookies and cache.

Terrific news!
Heh running Linux here....
Good for you. Wish I could. Are there any good games available?
@@suewhite8223 Heh, I'm mostly interested in scientific computing. My idea of a game is that thing where you put four things in a row :D
"Microsoft Begins Offering Windows 11 24H2 to Windows 10 PCs!"
Haven't those poor Win10 users suffered enough?
As long as that's not forced on us, I'll be happy to stick with what I've got. Otherwise, it'll be a quick move to Linux.

I have windows 11 pro on my laptop and still have not gotten my 24H2 update yet!!!

Got it for Windows 11 already :)
My PC is 5 X faster now it;s AWESOME.
Thanks for the useful advice to delay installing Windows 11 24H2 until April/May
My issues for not being able to upgrade to Win11 are: Secure Boot and CPU... My cpu is an i5-6600

Win 11 24H2 has issues with drivers from ASROCK CORSAIR AND EVEN INTEL thus refuses to load them... even new corsair icue 5 has the same driver issue

I just returned back again to windows 10 wont upgrade to 24h2 until windows 10 ends support
They need to allow machines that don’t have TPM to install Win11 without hacks
Thanks but no, thanks.
