First it was ThinkPads, now a office printer? You're on a roll Sam! Also when you're not using it, you could put it under the stairs, more space in the sitting quarters!
Did you download the full software suite from HP or are you just using the Windows built in drivers? May cure the USB scanning issue. I have an HP colour printer that's networked that was hideously slow to transfer print jobs from the PC. Once I downloaded the proper HP driver it's now pretty much instant.
Thanks! Turns out windows XP black edition, although great for day to day use has trashed the networking somehow so a fresh retail XP sp2 is going on as we speak!
@@beko1987 Thats odd I expect somwhere down the line when Black Edtion was created they removed some of the networking features to make the iso and install smaller, cant go wrong with a standard windows xp install i still love the music it plays when first setting it up brings back so many memorys!
@@chrispayne9589 I think so. 2 services were off, and even doing everything by the book it didn't create a network share. Then the settings pages were different, and it just dawned on me that it's possibly just toss, and to start again to be sure. I also fixed a vax that had stopped spinning it's brushroll due to hair
@@beko1987 Yeah allways best to stick with a non modded windows espeically if you want to work correctly, other versions are good to have a play about on experiment etc, did you get it working in the end with a fresh install?, that was a not so nice but easy fix then, getting hair off a brush roll can be a pain well it is off my dyson cordless! :)
@@chrispayne9589 Turns out ATI didn't do raedeon mobility x300 drivers for Windows 2000,not even when the file says it, even from the ATI legacy site! So I'm spinning up a vm now because I'm getting annoyed! If it works I'll make a USB XP boot disc (don't have an optical drive in my pc) and do another install!
I use that at work all the time! Sadly the file itself gets cut off at circa 500k and corrupts the rest. The jpg just showed it better as the pdf gets confirmed/signed at the end, which never sends!

It won't fit under the stairs lol

Also... use proper Adobe Reader for PDFs rather than Windows PDF reader?
@@davidfowler729 it all works fine using Windows XP! I'm throwing 14mb a3 scans around now.
