Hey Bob, your friends at Oxbridge were kind enough to make the recall on my 2021 (GTX 230) IDF BEFORE I ever went in once. Used it multiple times with great success. 0 malefactions. Have no fear!!
Great that you ordered the sponsons and catch can, when fitting the sponsons put them in the middle at first then one more notch down 👍 that’s the sweet spot, I have them fully down as we ride the wild Atlantic, definitely makes a big difference, you’ll see it more when you’re following behind others and the wake from there skis. Keep me posted, cheers 🍻
I too ride in a large bay (Narragansett Bay/Rhode Island, and out into the Atlantic. I have the Riva Sponsons set at four. You're right. It makes and incredible difference in the ride, and handling in rough conditions. Quick turns are insane.
Loved loved your video. So well done. I just got my seadoo same model but in black. Have a drone but what I love is all your gadgets and information you provided. Thanks for the video. Will be sure to check the other ones. Keep it up! Thanks again
Hey Bob again, another great video. I was curious about the maps and was going to leave a question regarding since I use navionics as well. Glad you pointed out not that goos as a feature. Great video! Can’t wait for the next.
Nice! Good luck with your new GTX. I have the IDF on my GTX 230/2021. The first time I tested it I was about 10 yards from my put-in and it worked perfectly. Had to use it in real time once (worked great). I tested it this morning near my take-out again. Worked the way it should. Hope all goes well with yours.
If you like to ride aggressive I highly recommend gloves and water shoes. I rode for a couple of years before I wore them and the difference is amazing.
I have both riva parts you ordered on my '21 rxtx. Both are worth it big time. Sponsons will help you go straight in chop. For the catch can, make sure you empty it after every ride. I use a sponge under it to soak up the small amount collected per ride. If you let to much build up its hard to fit a cup under it. The benefit is that the oil wont build up in your intercooler and engine will run cooler as intended. ENJOY!
@@bobsudeyko4088 Catch can depends on oil level. Higher RPM and/or slightly higher oil level, you wont "fill it" but, you will see how hard it would be to drain. I put a sponge under mine and take a few drops when I get home from every ride. It will 'look' full because there is a sponge inside the can that turns black and sags so its very hard to tell if it were to ever get full.
@@bobsudeyko4088 So the RIVA sponsons have levels you can (not very easily) set. Put them on the middle setting and it will track really well, turn better than stock and will track you straight as an arrow in chop. If you drop them down... yes it will absolutely be on rails and tear your shoulder off trying to hold on.. lol ... those low settings are for racing... with how you ride you will love middle setting... you are right now cheap, but will give you way more rough water confidence and less rider fatigue in chop over distance.
@@bobsudeyko4088 I'd also recommend the RIVA SCOM.... all it does is remove the speed limiter so it can naturally go to its true top speed. I know you arent a speed junkie, but for $200 it lets you have the full potential of your 300 as intended.
Bob, I have a pair of Sea Doo goggles I just bought. Similar to what you are wearing but they are painful to wear after about 10 min. May I ask what brand you are wearing?
Had to use my IDF within about 30 minutes of launching the first time! Banks Lake, here in Washington, being manmade, has some serious SURPRISE! type shallows! 1/4 mile from shore, and suddenly the depth alarm is chirping and I picked up some gravel. Took a little blasting, but IDF did it's thing well. Hoping to avoid using it much tho! Got home after last trip and saw that I could probably have used a blast from it after my day out. Milfoil or some sorta slimey green sea monster was hanging out the intake when I pulled out! Was still operating perfectly well tho...... Probably out in the morning on Lake Roosevelt (Columbia River above Grand Coulee Dam) for some fishing and screwing around.
@@bobsudeyko4088 I won't repeat any of the utterances that came out my mouth, but that soon in on my cherry poppin' ride, while popping my ride's cherry too, was like "Just my luck!" IDF, however, did it's thing well.
Hey Bob. Funny you say the add ons... that's how I ordered min... Riva Sponsons, Riva Catch Can. If you ever want to ride together some time... say hello. Picking mine up finally on Thursday. LONG WAIT. I'm in Scarborough, Teacher so hopefully get out on the water quite a bit... not looking forward to the gas prices though...lol.
Hi Walter. Glad to hear it’s finally ready. My machine had the main screen lose and the fender on the trailer was not tightened properly. So take a look around before you leave the dealership
The Sponsons vastly improve how the ski tracks through the water. Turning is also more responsive and sensitive to steering input. I wish I had put them on years earlier. It reduces much of that rear end slipping feeling when moving at speed.
Bob, enjoying watching the video's of your jetski adventures. One question for you, what weather apps do you use to check the conditions before you head out. Thanks and have a good one.
My primary app is called Wind finder. Bare in mind that it’s really only accurate about 48 hours in advance of your planned ride. I look 4-5 days ahead and then make a decision to go or not 48 hours in advance with a final check the day before.
Hi Bob, glad you got your drone taken care of and didn't have to pay a dime. How come all of us 60 and over dudes are getting jetski's that are 300 plus I'm getting next year a 170 because in Michigan the Great Lakes U.S water's you can only go 50 mph if you want to go faster you have to go 1 mile out from shore to do 60 mph it's the laws in the U.S Great Lakes Michigan waters. By the way those glasses you are wearing are they prescription and if they are where did you get them because I wear prescription glasses?
Had lens implants put in my eyes this winter so I know longer need prescriptions. On the 300 hp. I totally agree. With gas prices what they are currently I wish I had gone with the 230.
Hi Bob, great video editing. What software do you use. Very professional. Re sponsoons your buying, are they the ones that come standard on the Fishpro range. Re the mirrors, our Fishpro 21, are only good for looking to see if your passengers leg is still there. Only get the left mirror as the right one has the Garmin depth finder fitted over it.
I think they are called boggles. Comes in a case that offers three types of lenses. You can also configure with the head band or the normal type of glasses. I use them when I will be riding a lot to reduce the pressure on the eye balls that can happen when riding at higher speeds.
Hi Bob, like your riding, exploring and camping videos and also want to get the same machine. Please check if you're getting condensation in the intercooler. It might happen after it is broken in and runs much hotter. I will leave a link to a video showing exactly that - same machine as yours. Wouldn't want you to get stranded or something happen to the machine. Cheers. ruclips.net/video/Wd7PlbmvayE/видео.html
I saw your video and have it saved. I will be watching to see if I see any similar bogging down issues. I never had that problem with my 2018 GTX in the 4 years I ran it. Also very interesting that it happened on both of your machines. Good video for people who have bought that machine.
