You know that you should perform a self-calibration every time you change to another probe set?

Oh Wow, LA7YKA Norway! I knew that I should, but never bothered to learn how - until this comment. :) Thank you for keeping me on my toes, and pushing me to be better! Thanks for the great comment!

I have one of these. They are great. You can mod the tiny aligator clips to longer true kelvin clamps. This meter is very accurate. Like the other poster said, you need to calibrate the leads before you use them.

I agree 100%. Great meter, the 100KHz range is ideal for low L and C values. I compared it to many other LCR meters I've used over 12 years. I recently used mine to measure the R of various wire sizes to see the skin effect at 100KHz vs lower frequencies. It's 120% at 20AWG, lower with smaller wire, higher with fatter wire.
Definitely build up true kelvin clamps. My only complaint about the meter is that they aren't available for it, you need to DIY.

You need to recalibrate it after different measuremtn leads are replaced. It is fairly straight forward, it requirs for both terminals to be shorted and opened for 30 seconds each.

Thanks for the tip! I'll admit, I never read the manual. :)

    an inductor/transformer saturation current tester jig is also something you may find useful - often when gapping transformers this is just as important as the inductance itself if not more so;
a small hearty buck converter to generate a low-ish voltage, high current supply from one of your bench power supplies
a LOT of capacitance to keep the supply stiff under transient
    a shunt
    a fast amplifier
    a mosfet
    preferably a mosfet driver
    a schottky diode
    power supply connectors
bncs for scope and function generator

Hi nice video, How do you make this tolerance setting? It says setup in the book, but I can't enter it. Can you make a video and post it?

congratulations :) i love mine. you can also use it at 1khz for measuring audio impedance. and you can measure capacitors by plugging them directly to the slots. you can also mod it to use true 4 wire tweezers.

Thank you David! Seems good so far. If they're the same as the EEVblog version, I think they're 4-wire down to the tweezer tip, but there's still a short length of 2-wire down to the part. Great thoughts!

What happened to the amplifier series? Looking forward to seeing the next instalment.

I suppose that's on pause for now, Are you looking for the Class D amplifier part of the series, or a better analog amp?

@@EEforEveryone the better class a/b amp series would be great. Is it over?

Only downside is the screencover, which is a made out of a plastic bag :-/

He does understand anything about calibration let alone Ione testing components. These are not 100 percent accurate. Their are capacitor checkers out there that are better but not accurate as well and they cost thousands. They all go by average..that's what cheapest do..average...sorry lousy video sounds like your confused and you are. Learn electronics and then make a video..

How about Picofarads instead of PUFFS.
