Just a residents personal opinion here. Jacque-Imo's, Cochon, Willie Mae's definitely highly recommended to any visitor. As for Domilise's, they're a little pricey for the small portions and have extremely limited seating inside (literally 5 tables). Parkway Bakery is without a doubt the best po-boy centered eatery in the city. Overstuffed and insanely economical for the portions. No hate on Domilise's, I grew up less than a mile from it and it's been a mainstay of uptown for a ridiculously long time. Was kinda surprised to see so many "bar food" establishments listed over other choices, but also acknowledge that finding the late night or rush hour meal can be very difficult and for that reason, definitely any visitor should be aware of the less hyped establishments. Always love watching these videos. Thanks for sharing.

Vacationed in NOLA for a week - waaay too long. My wife/I were in a food/drink coma every morning. Next time, a visit for 3-4 days is all we need. We visited a lot of places and a few of the places you mentioned Jacque-Imos, Antoines, Domilises, Emril's, and Cochon's - all very good as you and AB cited. Great vid.
1 of my greatest memories of New Orleans was going on a road trip and staying at the Monteleone, with my college girl friend. I was so broke those days, we ate at Antoine's on our way back home, all I could afford was a cup of gumbo, but wow was it amazing.
Jaques-Imo’s is worth it. Always good food. Bring your appetite for Southern Creole food. Domilise’s is my favorite po’boy shop in NOLA. They’re small in comparison to others but delicious.
i surely miss "Ulisch's just a short walk from canal st....soo unique and soo god,,,,he and his wife run it ad even lurd the "blue-ribbon" winning-top oyster shucker in all of NOLA,,,,asked him to sign my souvenir cook book-"aw shucks" he had to have me spell it or him !!!
Bourdain's picks were always booze first food second. Not that he didn't have a fabulous palate . . it's just that his zest for the wild night life was his primary guide. His "No Reservations" series are all time classics. He is missed.
Just a heads up, the alligator cheesecake at jockimo's is savory and is an appetizer not a dessert. It is insanely delicious though and I highly suggest you try it. It's more like a really thick quiche. Jock imos Is my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. They have an extensive menu and everything on it is excellent. Truly something for everyone there.
The fact that they recommended the savory gator cheesecake that's on Jaques Imo's _appetizer_ menu for dessert makes me suspect this is just another AI listicle
Most of those places are outside the French Quarter. The Quarter is the safest place. Been there many times. Dive bars are the best. Try The Chart Room on Chartress Street and Harry’s Corner both on the same street. B Macs on St Louis just North of Bourbon Street.
Emeril’s in certainly not “in the heart of the French quarter” - it’s in the CBD. Also, clearly you have never eaten at Jacque Imo’s otherwise you would know that the Alligator Cheesecake is not a dessert.
@ViewCation Your style of short and informative will make for good video whether you are doing restaurants, town or attractions. I especially like learning of small off the beaten path restaurants. Keep up the fine work.
“anyone with a belly button”…there are a few people out there without those (usually removed during a surgery for whatever reason). Guess they’ll have to drink elsewhere.

Never forget MANDINAS! POSSIBLY THE BEST CASUAL RESTAURANT IN THE CITY.
Absolutely!!! Love it!
We are going in December for my 50th birthday. I am even more excited after seeing all these options!
Have fun and stay safe! Please let us know how your travel goes ❤

The Alligator Cheesecake is like quiche; it is an appetizer, not a dessert.😮
Hands down. New Orleans for the most delicious food!
Absolutely! Which city/location would you like us to feature next?
Yes it does so does nashville
I stumbled upon Cafe Reconcile while walking around NO a few years back and I left with a very good feeling about the city in general

True that - very rich and can easily serve as an appt for 2
Only city in America where one should eat ♠️
I wish I could go thereeeee!!!!
Emeril's is NOT in the French Quarter. It's in the Warehouse District.
Yes have eaten to most of these places also cooked at two them........NOLA Rising
Jacques Imos was SUPERB! I’d go back just to try another dish there haha
Loved it!

Yeah, i caught that as well…definitely not dessert, although an outstanding appetizer! Overall the place is one of the best, & reasonably priced.
I’ve had the alligator cheesecake. Not bad.

You know nothing about New Orleans if you think the French Quarter is the safest place in the city
@@gogadgo for tourists. No place is 100% safe. I’m not saying go to Tremme!
Willie Mae’s chicken…. Soooo good
Drago’s needed to be on here. Best roast oysters ever
Morrow's too!

Checkpoint Charlie's is more of a rock-n-roll club. Not a FQ Jazz club.
This is a great video and thank you for all of the recommendations!
Glad it was helpful! Which city/location would you like us to cover next?
@@OnViewCation Martha's Vineyard!
If you like oysters, acme oyster bar is great!
Felix across the street, gets their oysters from the same place, but get 1st choice.
And there's not an hour wait in line outside.
@@kevinflynn4519 thanks for your comment, I'll try it the next time I'm in Nola.

I can’t believe snake and jakes still exists, it always felt like some bar on the edge of existence in the 90s…
I can't believe S&J's hasn't been condemned, it was bad back in the 90's...
@@njohnson942please bring.back the 90,s
I like Yo Mama's burger joint a lot. Piles of crawfish down the hatch!
Fun stuff, thanks for sharing! What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
What an excellent tour! You made me want to dine in NOLA again after many years away.

If you came here for Bourdain. He's Not here. Its just a lazy Mashed video with pics of Facebook.
Butchering new orleans pronunciation!
Been to Willa Maes...If the restaurant has a high inspection score....
Hurricane Ivan in 2012? I don’t think so. Plus, Ivan didn’t come near NOLA.
Emeril's is good but it's not in the heart of the French quarters it's in the heart of the warehouse district
Thanks for the tip! Which city/location would you like us to cover next?
I like the list but your pronunciation 😂
Was thinking the same. Lessons can be offered but it's a good list nonetheless.
“anyone with a belly button”…there are a few people out there without those (usually removed during a surgery for whatever reason). Guess they’ll have to drink elsewhere.
Is Buster Holmes still around?
Buffas on esplande
It's voodoo barbecue in the garden district for me.
If you’re gonna recommend New Orleans spots, learn how to pronounce the words…..
Do some homework & teach your robot how to properly pronounce food items in NOLA....Please
This looks like a list of places I would NEVER set foot in. I’m sure their ok for most people but I have too much self respect…
Anthony Bourdain was not qualified to do a serious review of the New Orleans food scene. That was a fly by attempt at relevancy.👎
But gordan Ramsey was
port o call, ninja sushi, and anywhere at bucktown
